Fuzzy:  The Wedding party - The bar

An impromptu bar area set in one corner to the main room.  Servers come to refill their trays with wine, but there is also a barrel of Poacher's Pale setup ready to serve ale, and a selection of other drinks available.  And it is all free ....

OOC: Quiet area suitable for conversations.

Hargrym moved over to the bar and ordered himself a pint of Poachers Pale he thanked the bartender and said a small prayer to Torag over the beer before taking his first sip.  "Aye tis a fine drop, no dwarven stout but fine none the less." he stroked his beard and watched the room as he did.  This would be a fine party even if it was a rapidly arranged one he thought to himself.

Another arrived at the bar, ordering for herself a rosé wine.

"You're Lord Domitius' man," she nodded to the dwarf, "his mason."  It was said politely, statement not question - pronounced with an accent not indicative of any place in Brevoy.

Her V-neck, off shoulder, ball gown was a deep burgundy color, her raven black hair done in a braided half updo.   About her neck a small, dual pendent on a fine chain; one disc bearing Desna's Butterfly sigil, the other Acavna's moon with crossed spears.  She was likely the only other person in Brevoy to wear an Acavnite symbol - but of course was employed by the other one who did.

"Do you enjoy it, your work?" she inquired conversationally.   "It must be something, to make things that may last many generations?"

"Aye lass, I run Lord Domitius's workshop." he replied warmly a slight brogue to his voice"It's good solid stone we work with but it's nice to do something artistic every now and then.  Unless I'm mistaken you work for Lady Alisa by that pendant you are wearing." he gestures towards his own neck as he said so.  "And that being the case it makes you part of the family now.  So Welcome to house Solanus." he raises his mug in toast. "Hargrym Silverhammer, a pleasure to meet you."

She returned the gesture with her wine glass.

"Thank you, master Silverhammer. Likewise. I spend much of my days in the college district, where the business is located, and therefore have yet to meet most of Solanus.   But I was instructed to learn who is who in the community, which includes Lord Domitius' staff.  And good, solid stone is exactly what I was referring to, when I spoke of lasting many generations.  Stone is often a part of the past that we can touch, isn't it?  It endures, while so much goes on and changes around it."    She had a sip of the wine.

"Mm. Oh, and my name is Sejana."

"A pleasure Miss Sejana, your right stone will last when wood and metal have worn away.  At least the stone I work with for the most part." He chuckles before continuing Though we got a new source of soapstone in a nice blue that I'm planning on carving into statues for peoples personal shrines in their homes.  I have been working on one as a secret project just to test the stone itself and see how detailed the work can be." he paused and took a drink of his ale.  "So far it looks good we should be able to make a dozen or so icons a day depending on the size and complexity."

A large man, with a freshly filled mug of ale, overhears Hagrym's comments and stop close to the conversation.

"Excuse me for butting in, but I would be happy to buy a Badger statue once you are in production.  I have a warhammer in my shrine, but adding a decent stone badger would add to the overall impression.  I don't have many people come into the shrine, but it serves a small community.  I'll get Lutz, from over at Ironkeep, to bless it for me."

Sejana nodded. "I've seen blue soapstone.   A lovely medium, to be sure.   And secret projects are fun," she smiled playfully.   "I will look forward to seeing some of this work. A dozen icons in but a single day -- that seems an impressive amount of production, from my unskilled perspective.   I'm rather sure your employer will be pleased."

As she had known of Hargrym, Sejana likewise knew of Ron Swansov.  Who was noteworthy as being Tusk's only priest of the forge-god Torag, as well for his carpentry works.

She was much less versed in religious iconography, however.   She quirked a brow, wondered Why a badger? till the man spoke of having it blessed.

"Ah, so is the badger sacred to the forge-lord? I wager there's some intriguing tale behind that?"

"Most people would tell you it is just because Torag favours burrowing animals," Ron says, but then leans forwards conspiratorially, "However there is a tale about Torag, The Gnome, The Badger and a gemstone ... But I am not allowed to talk about that." He grins as he stands up straight again and taps the side of his nose.

"I see.  That's unfortunate it cannot be shared, but I do understand."  She lifted her glass.  "No worries; I drink enough of this, and I just may imagine my own," she laughed.

"Aah that badger, aye I'm sure that I can do something along those lines and I'll happily donate it to the shrine myself." Hargrym responded with a chuckle and a tap on the nose "Though I may not let my wife know it's that badger."
he stroked his beard "If you like I can get it sent through via Winter Sun on one of Tic's mule trains."

"I appreciate that," Ron replies to the dwarf "Let me know if you need any workbenches or such like.  I can send the parts back with Tic, and a lad to put them together for you."

Then turning his attention to Alisa he grins, "I doubt you would be the first.  I have heard quite a few variations of that story ...."

"Naughty badger, is it? In the woodlands near where I was born, there are dire-badgers.  Four foot at the shoulder, about five hundred pounds.   With claws that can tunnel through solid rock. When they are naughty, no one tells them they can't have dessert, let me tell you."

"Dire Badger, now that would be a sight to behold... from a safe distance of course.  No need to tempt fate with an angry badger now. Hargrm said before taking another pull at his ale. "Though I have heard tales of Dwarven rangers taking them as companions, not sure how I would feel living next to one but out here I think it unlikely at best.

She raised her glass.  "I'll drink to that," then did so.

"I relocated for a small list of reasons.  Grumpy, vicious neighbors were certainly one part of it."
