The Gates Developments

House leMaistre have plans to develop their holdings at Newgate, Eastgate and Westgate - and invite applications  from interested parties.  Mother Beatrix has offered to enhance Pharasma's presence across the estate, while both Dara and Quentin have already decided to settle here.  However, we  welcome economic developments,in any of the estate's locations.

Newgate is at the heart of the leMaistre holdings, this small town is dominated by the Castle and DELEM's Business operations, but there is plenty of room for growth.  Newgate sits squarely on the road between Tusk and Restov, and has the potential to play a signifiant part in any new trade routes that open up.

Westgate is the leMaistre contribution to the long term plan of opening up a western trade route, which will give access to trade in New Stetven, Fort Drelev and, from there, to Pitax.  It will also play a part in opening up West Midmarch for development.

Eastgate sits to the east of Ringbridge, and will have good trade access to Varnhold and any developments to the Southeast of Midmarch or Tusk.  However there is  uncertainty and, at the moment, Eastgate provides an outer defence to Ringbridge.

Mia looks around the meeting, and smiles.

"Mother Beatrix has agreed to build graveyards in Eastgate and Westgate and to upgrade the Holy House in Newgate to a priory, which will function as the senior 'house' within her Pharasman order."

Andalon rose to address the meeting.

"We are planning some investments in Cheapside (in Tusk) and at Kunlun but we will still have some resources (2BP) to spend on developments promoting the faith of Abadar throughout Midmarch or promoting and facilitating trade. Ringbridge, Newgate and/or Westgate seem like good candidates. For example, that might be one Great Shrine (1BP, Loy+1, Stab+1) and 2 Shrines (2x0.5BP, Loy+1 each)? (Potentially upgraded to Chapels in future?). Or perhaps one Shrine and a Local Market (1.5BP, Econ+1, Stab+1)? (Potentially upgraded to a Regional Market in future?)

"We don't know those settlements very well ourselves, yet, so we would welcome your suggestions on what type of developments in which settlements would be most beneficial for all concerned."

"Westgate is little more than a lone watchtower, although Mother Beatrix has offered to build a Graveyard there, in preparation for its growth.  However, both Ringbridge and Newgate are burgeoning towns, with respectable trade connections."  Mia responds, well aware of the philosophies that Abadar's church promotes.  "We would, of course, be delighted to host a Great Shrine of Abadar in Newgate, where I suspect there will be sufficient interest for your great shrine to flourish."

Andalon bowed graciously to Mia.

"I thank you for your advice, Mia. We shall build a Great Shrine of Abadar in Newgate, as you suggested. I will go and talk to Cyrus and Valoria at Ringbridge to see what sort of investment would be most suitable there."

"You are welcome." Mia says with a smile.

Note:

Quentin Ragoon and Dara have decided to retire from adventuring and set up home together.  Quentin will build on his family's  expertise and build a Lodging House in Newgate.  Dara will build a herbalist, with a long term view to celebrating Sarenrae in Newgate.
