Fuzzy: Midmarch -  Regional Development - 4715

It is my plan, this year, to drive a road from Westgate down to Bogside, via The Old Villa.  Not only will it open that area up for development, but it will put an end to the banditry that has been prevalent in that area.  This is the third time we have had to deal with bandits and thieves in Bogside.  No more!

Oston: Svetlana has asked me to tell you that Oston is almost full.  Svetlana and Oleg intend to restrict the growth of the town, so that it functions as a Market Town for the area.  However, they do intend to allow the development of farms and agricultural businesses in the hinterland.

Outpost:  You may be aware that there has been some unrest, based around West Farm, at outpost.  Fiddler has offered to build a shrine (Erastil) there, to help maintain a healthy outlook on  life.  However, there is still the possibility of developing a hamlet in the hinterlands, building a 'Country' business at West Farm, or developing a tavern in the village.  OOC:  It will have to stay as a tavern, as the village will have reached its limits.

Junction: This small village is ripe for development - on the road from Oston to Tusk it boasts a Watchtower and a Local Market.  There is certainly room for a commercial development, a religious development and a hamlet.

Bar-Z: A very small development, open to all sorts of investment.  Fiddler has agreed to open a Great Shrine dedicated to Erastil here, to help establish this as a route towards the west, so there is cope for a commercial development.  Zorah's horse breeding ranch is (a Hamlet) is in the hinterlands.

Kunlun: This village will grow to a town soon - and is dedicated to the gods.  Developments from religious organisations are always welcome.  Ethankos has agreed to build a Shrine (Pharasma) as an attachment to the restaurant her opened last year.

There is also scope for developers to take over different parcels of lard to develop their own estates - as part of Midmarch.

Domitius dropped by Oleg's whilst escorting a mule train into the Oston Serai.  "Master Oleg, WSM would like to open a shop here in Oston and establish a regular route between Tusk and Oston.  We would be looking to sell household goods and spices as well as delivering items as required from Tusk and further afield."

We will upgrade our Abadaran Shrine at Kunlun to a Great Shrine as part of our ongoing commitment to Kunlun as a religious centre in Midmarch.

Brother Bart makes a note in his book.  "Thank you Domitius, That is probably the last development inside the boundaries of  Oston.  Oleg and Svetana are keen to keep it as a small market town.

And thank you Andalon, Lord Henry is preparing to expand Kunlun, into a small town, so that it can accomodate as many shrines and temples as people wish."

OOC:  agreed:
  • WSM shop in Oston.  Oston is now full and will only recognize offers for developments in Hamlets.
  • Upgrade Abadar's Shine in Kunlun to Gt Shrine

"And I'm glad to hear that," chimed in Alisa upon her arrival, garbed in her riding apparel, "As I desire to establish a shrine for Acavna within Kunlun."

Unless the +1 Stab is unneeded or unbalancing, I think I'd like to go GT.

An advocate of V&A rises to his feet. "Greetings, honored gentleman. I am Tobius Lodkova. Although our resources are strained at this moment, my employers at V&A are concerned about Kunlun. A place devoted to the varied religions is an enlightened approach, but I suspect that there isn't much enterprise involved in the venture. As such, we are asking for permission to build a combination of Tavern and Holy House dedicated to Cayden. It injects some much needed capital into the region, and promotes a deity who isn't given much credit in some circles. Thank you for listening.

Berta raises her hand, more to forestall any other speakers than to ask permission, glancing around the chamber with narrowed eyes to quell the aspirations of anyone else who might wish to go first before she begins to speak.

"We've all heard something about the troubles they've been having in Outpost with the followers of the Hag Queen," she says, her expression grim as she uses the more colloquial sobriquet ascribed to the evil goddess Gyrona.

"House Roth would like to establish a tavern in the village and a community centre at Rothyard," she smiles broadly as she speaks the name, "that's what they're calling the hamlet at the Hopyards ... try to give the populace a sense of belonging while we also keep an eye on the place to make sure the cultists don't return."

The Dragon's bouncer looks like she takes the presence of Gyrona's followers there as a personal affront.

"Yes.  That is terrible news.  I have offered to send one of my acolytes to build a shrine dedicated to the Stag God, and spread the word of his teachings among the people."

"Thank you."  Brother Bart inclines his head to both Berta and Fiddler.  "Anything that helps that community recover from the taint that was discovered there, is greatly appreciated.

For his part, Lord Henry intends to build a mill and West Farm, in a big to provide more employment opportunities.  We can hope that, along with your help and leadership, we can banish the influence of The Angry Hag completely."

Alisa listened until Berta Roth and the others had finished.

"When I originally planned to put a shrine in Kunlun, the presence of Gyrona was not yet known.   I believe that, I would like to change that plan - and likewise place Acavna's great shrine in Outpost; offering to stand with the Roths, and work with Brother Fiddler."   She regarded the halfling.

"Erastil is the traditional god of my people.  Though I serve another, I respect his faith and teachings, and would aid you, if I can."

"I am afraid that with Brother Fiddler's Shrine at West farm and  The House of Pharasma in the village itself, I am not sure that we have space for another religious building, in such a small community.  However, we thank you for, really do appreciate, your concern for the people of Outpost."

Brother Bart looks uncomfortable for a moment, "And perhaps it would be better to re-establish the presence of a goddess long believed dead, in the more academic environment of Kunlun?" he suggests  softly.

She had been swept up in the cause and purpose of it, without considering the particulars.   And so nodded to the brother.

"Very well.  That advice is sound.  I should have considered it more clearly.   And plainly Outpost will be in good hands, as it is."
