Dom moved swiftly across the sallet and struck Cyrus

In a clash of blades, Domitius charges forward and executes a surprising strike that nicks a nerve, causing a slightly greater effect. In response, Cyrus slams a two-handed stroke into Domitius' side that had more power than precision. Both combattants are left with painful welts.

Cyrus knew he couldn’t take much more of those strikes but he also couldn’t afford to miss, so he struck out with as much force as he could put behind this blade. He missed his armor and his shield. He’d feel much better if he had either. Instead he focused on what he could do and delivered another powerful blow.

Grunting at the powerful blows Dom did his best to dance out of the way and deliver his own more precise strikes.  They two men had very different styles but equally effective it seemed.

Their strikes evenly timed, almost as if choreographed, both fighters use brutal 2-handed chops against each other. This contest was coming down as a test of endurance and power. Cyrus grunts as he pours more power into his blows.

Cyrus loved the thrill of battle and though there was far less risk, the blows from Dom still clearly caused him some pain. He brought the blade down again,  hoping to fell his opponent before he himself succumbed to his wounds.

Dom had started to grin, he didn't realise it but the challenge of the fight and his love of the fray had started to show.  The two men where trading blow for blow and it seemed a matter of endurance would be the biggest factor in determining a winner.

OOC: Decided to handle this before my surgery tomorrow.

Domitius alternates a high attack and a low attack. The high attack was meant to cause Cyrus to overextend, but the seasoned warrior did not fall for it. After taking a solid shot to the thigh, Cyrus pumps all his might into a blow that drives Domitius to his suddenly-weak knees. He topples slowly.



Adoven announces "Cyrus wins!", then motions for a healer to attend to both combattants.

OOC: Nice even match. You both had the same hp and AC. Biggest difference was Power Attack with a 2h weapon.

Cyrus breathed a massive sigh of relief and moved to Dom’s side to make sure he was ok. “Well fought my friend. I think I learned a few things and don’t look forward to the next round of these.”

He had mixed feelings, the thrill of battle was one thing, this was quite another and he had clearly injured one of his own friends.

Thaddeus had dashed into the sallet and a couple of cure spells later saw Dom rising to his feet.  Grinning he offered his hand to Cyrus "Well fought indeed, the power of that last strike. he shook his head "You will have to show me how you did that some time." he said rubbing his shoulder.

Cyrus smiled, “The key is to let the weapon do the work for you, then when you put your legs and back into it, it’s that much stronger. You nearly felled me yourself. I don’t think I would have survived another well placed strike.”

Cyrus Vs Adoven
Dom = Umpire

Everyone is on full health, fully spelled up  etc etc .

Adoven pulls a rapier and dagger from the walls and waits in an opposite corner for Cyrus to set himself.

Cyrus readied his sword and the small shield that hung strapped to his arm. He hoped he could end this duel with Adoven as quickly as he had the one with Dom. But he’d seen Adoven use magic and other tricks that might make him more durable.

He called out to the onlookers and Adoven and said, “Though we are friends, for this brief moment, you are my opponent and I pledge on my honor to strike you down before all to see.”

He then stepped forward and swung, his foot slipped and his swing was wild.

OOC: I saw on the dice roller that I had won initiative so I took the liberty of swinging first and wouldn’t you know it I missed, badly :)

OOC: Adoven is in A-1, thus Cyrus must be in B-2.

Adoven is shocked but recovers quickly as Cyrus charges him. His intial plan foiled, he nimbly moves past Cyrus to get into the far corner where he can Activate his Shield.

Feats: Dodge, Mobility
Move action: Move to D-4 acrobatically.

08:49, Today: Adoven Lodovka-Sud rolled 28 using 1d20+15.  Acrobatics/ Avoid AoO.

Adoven's tumble kept Cyrus off guard, his spell is successfully cast as Cyrus turns to face him again.

OOC: Round 2 fight!

Adoven’s flipping was just enough to keep Cyrus from slashing him as he tried to get by, so instead he waited until his opponent settled and then stepped forward and put his full weight into his next blow.

Adoven continues to use Fancy footwork against his powerful foe. He strikes with both rapier and dagger, adding a bit of power to each strike.

Cyrus lands a heavy blow to Adovens side that leaves Domitius wincing from the sidelines.  The force of the blow is enough to push Adoven's rapier to glance of Cyrus's buckler but his dagger strike is true.

Cyrus takes another big swing at Adoven hoping to knock him to his knees and avoid any further personal discomfort.

Adoven dodges and weaves, trying to avoid the heavy blade. During one pass,  his rapier engages Cyrus's sword, then Adoven slides his blade down to score a midsection hit while his dagger comes around to be intercepted by Cyrus's buckler.

Cyrus's blow is pushed aside by Adoven's swiftly moving blades, Adoven's rapier strikes true.
