Regional News

The Southern Chapter have built a new Chapter House in Tusk (Ivory Hill) and recently used it to induct three new members into the order.  The Dosalic sisters (Minia & Maple) as well as Rana Nervetti become officers of the order.  Other members are still exploring in the Narlemarch and investigating the disappearance of our neighbours at Varnhold.

The Religious Forum have authorised the establishment of a shrine dedicated to Acavna at Kunlun.  Acavna was a deity of the ancient Azlanti people, who has long believed to be dead.  The Forum has also been appraised of the cult of Gyronna, a deity proscribed in the Souther Region,  that was operating in Midmarch.  The leader has been declared dead and the followers are under investigation.

Midmarch News

Henry, Viscount Midmarch has been long been interested in extending Midmarch to the area west of the Narlemarch, and now he has achieved his goal.  The Dosalic sisters, from Mivon, have agreed to take over the Old Villa and Bogside and run then as a personal estate of Midmarch.  Henry has built new roads, leading to the revitalised settlements of Apple Lodge and Litwin's Cove.

Outpost: This small village saw an outbreak of Gyronna Woship - although that was scothched my members of the Southern Chapter (including the aforementioned Rana Nervetti) with assistance of patrol members from the village.  The Church of Erastil and the Roth family have stepped in to help Lord Henry revitalise the community.

New Dawn: House Aeris have allied with the Dwarven Clan Stigmar.  The dwarves will assist in defence and have promised to fetch Torag's faith to the region.  In parallel with this arrangement, Marik Aeris has been awarded the title and patent of Lord-Dominus of New Dawn.

Whiterun: House Vallani have opened canals and navigations to bypass the waterfall and cascades on the Shrike River - enabling water-borne trade between Tusk and Restov.  Merchants should note, however, that the Vallani Canals can only accommodate vessels of fifteen feet beam and fifty feet in length.  Our reporter understands that the canals might be widened later.

Ringbridge: Lord Cyrus of Ringbride has decided to come out of his self-imposed retirement to lead an expedition into the southern wllderness.  He will be accompanied by lady Viktoria Lebeda-Sud (who has recently returned to venturing after the birth of her child).  The will be assisted by the latest recruits to the Southern Chapter.  Lady Valoria has established a  Wizard's Guild in Ringbridge, to encourage the use of arcane magics and facilitate the sharing of spells between members.

Tatzleford: The reclusive town of Tatzleford, deep in the Narlemarch, has claimed land  along the banks of the Skunk River, in an effort to protect their waterborne trade with Tusk.

Tusk News

The Council of greater tusk have been developing a long term plan for their new Free City State.  Lord Adoven and Lord Kendrick have both expressed and interest in building developments close to the city, with the avowed intent of protecting the city from the south.

Tusk: The council have expanded the Central Keep into a castle and strengthened the Inner Wall, thus enhancing the safety and security of all Tusk's inhabitants.  In line with their started policies they have paved the streets of Ivory Hill, built district walls and started a new outer district called Watergate.  V&A shipping have recently opened offices in both Jovvox and Mivon, which will (eventually) improve trade to the south.  Lady Pipre has built herself a luxurious estate in Ivoryhill, while House Medveyd-Solanus are building a villa in the hinterlands.  Tusk is certainly the place to be!

Silverton has seen a lot of development this year.  Sister marceline has started a new Pharasmin Order, dedicated to the eradication of the undead, Lord Cass has started a Performers' Guild and this organ has established its offices in the town.

Reedham: Lady Pipre has established a small village to the south of Tusk.  While she says it is to help patrol Candlemere, our investigator thinks the real reason might be to protect her mother, the swamp witch, from unwanted visitors.

The March-Holds

Old Keep:The Druidess Zelona has finally established her march-hold based on the Old Keep found at the head of the Murque river.  She has encouraged Maril to establish a Shrine dedicated to the Green Deities along the trail to Tatzleford, and Lex, an Officer of the Southern Chapter, to set up there as a Master Bowyer.  She tells us that it might be open to external investment next year - so longs as the investment proposals are acceptable and don't damage the local wilderness.

Regional News

The Southern Chapter has added lodgings to its Chapter Hall in Tusk.  Visiting members (of all classes) will now be able to stay overnight.  They have also added a new Class of Membership, designated as Members of the Order, for those who have shown dedication to The Southern Region, but have not been actively involved in clearing and colonising land.  Finally Sword-Lord Domitious Aldori-Solanus and Andalon, Bishop of Tusk, have both been elevated to the rank of Knight.

Kunlun, home of the Southern Religious Council has been growing quickly.  New shrines have been added and the Great Meeting Hall expanded.  On a more mundane note, Kunlun now boasts an apartment block for staff, a tavern and an eating house.   The priests are doing well for themselves.

The Cream of Southern Investigators have been in Varnhold, helping to resolve the mysterious disappearance of Lord Varn and the holding’s population.  Some of Lord Henry’s troops are acting as caretakers in Varnhold, while the investigation continues.  So far, involvement from the Nomen Centaurs has been ruled out and the investigators are  following a lead that implicates a long dead Cyclops.

Other Explorers have been working south of the region.  One group are exploring the area  around Old Keep and there are reports of a crypt containing malignant undead.  Their support teams report that they have spotted many Lizardfolk where the Murque river empties into Candlemere.  A second group have discovered a small (human) settlement on the banks of The Shrike river, that they have called Gurdinford.  They have ascertained that the trail leading south from Mound runs all the way down to the Chain Ferry at Jovvox.

In Business News: Southern Region prospers! V&A Shipping continue to pursue external trade, with developments in Mivon and Sirian, while expanding their holdings in both Tusk and Ringbridge.  DELEM has extended its network out to Wyvern Bridge, creatging a direct link to Restov.   WSM now has developments in Apple Lodge, and is taking a grip on many internal trade routes.  Both Vallani Trading and House Yitis have initiated developments that will extend their reach to Restov and Mivon, while House Aeris, long established as river traders in Sootscale, have entered the land market.

In Political news, both Midmarch and Tusk have modified their political systems slightly.  Midmarch has implemented a system of Local Governors, while Tusk has restructured it’s council, co-opting Lord Adoven in a non-executive role.  Tusk has also widened its electoral crireia, to reflect changes in Southern Order membership.

Midmarch News

Midmarch Province

Viscount Henry has finally built a road out to the Wyvern Bridge and established two new settlements along the way.  Fort Vallart, patrols the road and the new western lands, while Wyvern Bridge will grow into a small town intended to facilitate trade.  Wyvern Bridge, Oston and Tazleford, will now operate as independent settlements, managed by local governors.    The Dosalic sisters have decided to concentrate on their personal goals, and both Litwin Cove and Apple Lodge revert to provincial management.  The sisters have established Dosalic farm,  just outside Apple Lodge, as their new base of operations..

Ringbridge, Midmarch’s largest town, has been consolidating.  There is very little room left inside the town’s walls and the new outer district is starting to fill as well.  Bastion has been re-enforced, and Lord Cyrus can legitimately say he has met Viscount Henry’s request to guard the bridge over The Shrike river. Development of a new Bardic College, in the same town as the Southern Wizard’s Guild along with a plethora of shops capable of creating magic items, is certainly giving the town a distinct personality.

Newgate, part of Lord Henry’s personal estates, has been consolidating .   Already established as the capital of Midmarch and a headquarters for DELEM,  Newgate is starting to grow into a more rounded town with a range of Businesses, educational establishments and public service buildings..

Aeris Estates have been busy.  Lord Marik has opened no less than three new districts, and built an Arcane college as well as opened a training schools for rangers and scouts for the region.  Other investments include a serai, a magic component shop and a Taldan Bath!  The first of its kind in the region.

Vallani Estates have been busy as well.  Feyfalls has grown into a small town, with boats capable of trading upriver as far as Restov, a new market, an orphanage and a new shrine.  Whiterun now boasts a wharf and a vessel capable of completing the run from Restov to Tusk, and further, non-stop!  Other investments include mercenary barracks in both towns, ready to offer protection to travellers about ship, or on land.

Greater Tusk News

A political review in response to changes in the Southern Chapter membership, has concluded that Tusk should adopt a slightly different system of management.  Lady Pipre’s role had been retitled as Lord-Advocate, and a new position non-executive councillor has been created and offered to Lord Adoven Lodkova-Sud, who has accepted the appointment.  Should an election be  called, all members of The Southern Order, in any class, who are resident in Greater Tusk, will be eligible to vote.

Tusk City has expanded yet again.  This time with two new districts and, as a new departure, a secondary settlement a few miles across the river shrike.  Defences have been improved,  by the addition of patrol boats, watchtowers and a bastion at the mouth of the River Shrike.   One new district, Stadium, is to be dedicated to sports and leisure activities, and three Scrymball teams have already been formed! The other district, Downwind, is designated as an area for ‘aromatic’ businesses.

Barleyboro, a new farming settlement, has been started on the eastern side of the Shrike river.

Silverton continues to develop its own personality, befitting its location on the main road into Tusk City.  The most significant developments have been in the hinterland, where Jensen the Paladin has built a small estate.

The editor and staff would encourage you to read widely, exercise daily, seek inner peace and learn something new every day.

Regional News

The Aristocracy  Both Lord Marik Aeris and Lord Cyrus Lebeda-Ondari, have received new patents of Nobility, elevating them from the rank of Lord-Dominus to the rank of Lord.  Lord Aeris has adopted Gabriel and Alana as cousins, while the Lady Pipre had adopted Bigjob as a cousin.

Lady Bai has a new son (William), Lady Pipre has give birth to a daughter (Zibba, ½ Orc), Svetlana has a new daughter (Alexis) and Dara has a new son (Davon).

The Southern Chapter Ethankos, beloved of Pharasma and Prior of Fey Falls has been promoted to the rank of Knight.

Nothing has been heard from them for a while, and concern is growing.

Other Explorers have been working south of the region.  A crypt containing malignant undead that was ruled by a dread Wight, a Kobold Sorcerer, was explored and cleared.  Work in the south is continuing, and a different group are dealing with a somewhat belligerent group of lizard folk.  Eastward exploration has started, and another group have been sent to investigate reports of a dragon nesting in the Tors of Levinies.

In Business News: Southern Region prospers! V&A Shipping continue to pursue external trade links, and have developed better trade links with Mivon, while expanding their holdings, significantly, in Tusk.

Midmarch News

Midmarch Province

Viscount Henry has improved the route between Newgate and Oston, by building a road to the north of Outpost.  The hope is that it will reduce the journey time from Newgate to Wyvern bridge by a day – facilitating trade from Restov to Wyvern Bridge.   The route has been enhanced as Fiddler, priest of Erastil, has built a Holy Hose at a site he has called Estig - between Westgate and Bar-Z.  It will help maintain a safe through route, while minimizing encroachments into the Fey reserve.

Ringbridge, Midmarch’s largest town, has been  consolidating and building its defences.  New farms and businesses have strengthened the town’ financial position, while better defences have earned Lord Cyrus a higher-ranking title.

Newgate, part of Lord Henry’s personal estates, has grown considerably .   Already established as the capital of Midmarch and a headquarters for DELEM,  Newgate is starting to grow into a more rounded town with a range of Businesses, educational establishments and public service buildings.  It has grown significantly over the last couple of years, and is now regarded as a large town.

Aeris Estates have been busy.  Lord Marik has now built a defensive wall around the New Dawn, earning himself a higher-ranking title in the process.  He has also developed the town and improved trade links, making it easier to ship metals to the major trading towns of the region.

Vallani Estates have been busy as well.  Feyfalls has grown again, and Lady Safiya has been concentrating on improving trading links along the canals that facilitate trade between Restov and Tusk.   The Vallani Estate has an interesting collection  of religious establishments -  with a priory dedicated to Pharasma, a chapel dedicated to Andoletta, and holy houses dedicated to a number of other deities.

Tatzleford Has been developing in harmony with the local environment.  A hunter’s camp, overseen by Rangers, along with a tannery, both supported by a local market in the town.   They have also taken responsibility for the Boggard hex, to ensure that the natural world remains relatively undisturbed.

Wyvern Bridge has grown significantly.  With investment from Lord Henry, The Church of Abadar, Lord Mordane and V&A Shipping, it has grown from a small village to a well established town in the space of a single year.  It even has its own school and baths!  It is, perhaps, destined for great things.

The Dosalic Region  While the Sisters have ceded  control of their estates to the province, to concentrate of their own projects, they still retain a lot of influence in t e region.  Verna Goodbarrel, a local community leader who controls Hooktongue Mutual, acts as councillor for the region.  Apple Lodge has grown into  a local market town, and will support a rural countryside of farming hamlets.

Greater Tusk News

Tusk City has added yet another new district, this time intended for residential property.  V&A have upgraded their facilities and now have a fully functioning Quayside, while House Yitis have introduced an armed keeler into service – the first to be based in Tusk.  The city council has carried out a number of civic improvements, paving streets, building district walls and even introducing drainage into the city centre.   It is fast becoming the Jewel of the Southern Region.  However, the most significant development, for some, Will be the expansion of Sisters of the Moon to sell a much larger range of magic items.  For others, it will be the opening of a dedicated wine merchant, in the Merchant Quarter or the Taldan baths in Ivory Hill.

The Tusk City (the team sponsored by Tusk Council)  won the inaugural Scrymball league, with  Lakeside Mulers second, Golden Keys third, with Stadium A propping the table up.  We are expecting a more exciting tournament next year as Kiera's Wolf pack join in the fun.

Barleyboro continues to develop, with a new farm and community facilities in the village.  A fishing hamlet, just across from the Shrike Bastion, supports a direct ferry service to Tusk.  It is able to support both passengers and trade goods.

Silverton continues to develop its own personality, befitting its location on the main road into Tusk City.  Lord Mordane has built an amphitheatre, to showcase the skills of students at the Bardic College.

The Roost is a new settlement south of Barleyboro, founded by Lord-Marshall Kendrick Winters.  At the moment it just functions as a watch point, close to the mouth of the Gurdin river.  He says it will e developed as a training school for cavalry, and that it will provide a patrol vessel or two in the Southern Tuskwater.

Reedham continues as a small fishing village.

The editor and staff would encourage you to read widely, exercise daily, seek inner peace and learn something new every day.

Regional News

The Aristocracy  Lord Cyrus Lebeda-Ondari, has developed his defences around the River Shrike bridge and has earned the title of Baron Ringbridge – our congratulations to Baron Cyrus and Baroness Valaria.  House Solanus have built a second home, outside Lord Kendrick’s  holdings at The Roost, and earned themselves the title of Lord-Dominus.  They have also adopted Sejana Cortellos as a cousin of the house.  Our congratulations go to Lord Domitius and Lady Alisa.  Lady Zelona of Old Keep has given birth to a Daughter, who she has names Vensys.

The Southern Chapter   Lord Adoven, Lord Mordane, Safiya Vallani and Jensen, advisor to Lord Mordane, are promoted to the rank of Knight.

The Aldori Council a neophyte organisation, without a base to call home, led by Swordlord Domitius Aldori-Solanus  with support from Swordlord Yasmin Aldori-Yitis.  There is talk of expanding to tcover duelling in all of its aspects.

The Cream of Southern Investigators are still in Varnhold, helping to resolve the mysterious disappearance of Lord Varn and the holding’s population.  Some of Lord Henry’s troops are acting as caretakers in Varnhold, while the investigation continues.  So far, involvement from the Nomen Centaurs has been ruled out and the investigators are  following a lead that implicates a long dead Cyclops. Nothing has been heard from them for a while, and concern is growing.

In the south Explorers led by Lady Vik, have established that the belligerent  group of lizard folk, living by Candlemere, were led by an evil Lizard King, who  believed that a will-o-wisp was a reincarnation oof his dead ancestor.  They have now been sent to support the exploration plans in the East of the region, around Lake Silver Step.
The Dragon Hunters, led by the newly elevated Lord Domitius, recently found the dragon and have destroyed it.  The consensus of opinion was that it was a large Drake, rather than a true dragon -  although it was still a remarkably tough opponent.   It is envisaged that they will join up with Lady Viktoria’s group, at some point.

In Business News: Southern Region prospers! V&A Shipping continue to pursue external trade links, and has developed better trade links with Restov, while expanding their holdings in Mivon.  They are now one of the most significant trade houses in the area.  The trade route between Restov and Wyvern Bridge continues to develop.  A single rider can make the journey in five days, with  reasonable overnight accommodation each day.  It is nine days for a trade caravan – but it is a safe route with proper stops.

Protected Areas: The Fey and Kobold enclaves, in Midmarch, are nominally under Viscount henry’s control, been granted independent rule and travellers are instructed to stay clear of them.  The Lizard folk by Candlemere Lake, although not under the control of any Southern Region  Government, should be treated with the same caution.  We believe that vessels passing through their territory will be safe, but other visits should be undertaken with caution.  Southern Law cannot be enforced in that area.

Midmarch News

Midmarch Province

Viscount Henry has concentrated on developing Junction  as part of his “Midmarch Bread Basket” development plan, although he has also consolidated expansion at Wyvern Bridge.

Ringbridge Estate, Lord Cyrus has improved his defences significantly, and has built homes for Marshal Zauria and Wilbur (Lady Valoria’s cousin).  In the process, Ringbridge has grown into a small city,  Mound developed into a small town, and Lord Cyrus has claimed the title of Baron.

The Gates Estate, Lord Henry’s personal estates, have developed significantly.  Newgate now boasts two new farms and a hospital, while Westgate has grown to be a small town, and become a prime stopping place for caravans on the Newgate . Wyvern Bridge road.

Aeris Estates Lord Marik has been busy, and New Dawn is starting to assume its own personality.  It is now home to The Southern Mint and a Bank of Abadar, as well as a new armour and schools.

Vallani Estates Both towns have grown with a series of development that improve trade links between Restov and Tusk -  with better links and supplies to the local area.

Tatzleford has consolidated its position by improving patrols across  those sections of the Narlemarch, for which it has responsibility.

Wyvern Bridge has grown again, mainly with investments from the leMaistre family, although V&A shipping have also consolidated their position in the town.

The Dosalic Region  now boasts a community brewery making Apple Wine and a new farm in the Litwin’s Cove hinterland.

Greater Tusk News

Tusk City has grown into a large city over the last few years, and development continues apace.  Two new districts have been opened, a new waterfront ddistrict, and act as a base for the Tusk Army.
The latest developments add a new outer wall to the city  and paved streets across the existing districts.

The Wolf Pack (A new team sponsored by Kiera Raincutter-Solanus)  won the second Scrymball league, with The Golden Keys second, Lakeside Mulers third, with Stadium A  fourth and Tusk City propping the table up.

Barleyboro Little has happened in Barleyboro this year, as developments have been concentrated elsewhere.

Silverton Little has happened in Silverton this year, as Lord Mordane’s focus has been with his hostelries.

The Roost the new settlement south of Barleyboro, has grown quickly, with support from devout followers of Iomedae.  Dame Mariam, Lord Borric and House Solanus have all helped establish the town as a suitable base for a cavalry training school.

Reedham continues as a small fishing village.

The March-Holds

Exploration and Investigations
Various members of The Southern Order have been exploring to the south and east of Tusk.  Among their exploits they have challenged and destroyed a Hydra,  some magically animated mudmen and a group of predatory gargoyles.  It has been established that an ancient Lich was behind the disappearance of the Varnhold population, and many of them were lost to his evil ways.  However, we are pleased to report that about forty souls were saved, many of whom have returned to their homes in Varnhold.

In Business News: Southern Region prospers! Both V&A Shipping and DELEM have concentrated on building up their internal resources, with expansions in both Tusk and Wyvern Bridge.   Lord Lebeda of Silverhall has spotted the improved trade opportunities, and his house have started to develop their own trade network into  Wyvern Bridge and Tusk. Lord Mordane has also started to develop a trade and shipping centre in Silverton, while The Roths have built a network of fast coaches linking Wyvern Bridge, Newgate and Tusk, shortening travel time considerably.

Protected Areas: The Fey, Lizardfolk, and Kobold enclaves, in Midmarch, have all been granted independent rule and travellers are instructed to stay clear of them.  The Fey region has been further protected by closing the ring of settlements surrounding in, and limiting bot access and further development.

Little of significance has happened in the rest of the region, although Lord Henry has started to improve the skills and armament of some of his troops.

Greater Tusk News

Tusk City has consolidated this year, with no great civic improvements.  However, investment in trade infrastructure (V&A, DELEM, Lord Lebeda)  have added to the City’s status as a merchant centre.  The City Council has taken the decision to improve training and equipment for some of their troops.

This year The Golden Keys won the League, followed by The Lakeside Mulers, The Wolf Pack dropped to third, Tusk City came fourth with Stadium A at the bottom of the table.
