Regional News
The Aristocracy Both Lord Marik Aeris and Lord Cyrus Lebeda-Ondari, have received new patents of Nobility, elevating them from the rank of Lord-Dominus to the rank of Lord. Lord Aeris has adopted Gabriel and Alana as cousins, while the Lady Pipre had adopted Bigjob as a cousin.
Lady Bai has a new son (William), Lady Pipre has give birth to a daughter (Zibba, ½ Orc), Svetlana has a new daughter (Alexis) and Dara has a new son (Davon).
The Southern Chapter Ethankos, beloved of Pharasma and Prior of Fey Falls has been promoted to the rank of Knight.
The Cream of Southern Investigators have been in Varnhold, helping to resolve the mysterious disappearance of Lord Varn and the holding’s population. Some of Lord Henry’s troops are acting as caretakers in Varnhold, while the investigation continues. So far, involvement from the Nomen Centaurs has been ruled out and the investigators are following a lead that implicates a long dead Cyclops. Nothing has been heard from them for a while, and concern is growing.
Other Explorers have been working south of the region. A crypt containing malignant undead that was ruled by a dread Wight, a Kobold Sorcerer, was explored and cleared. Work in the south is continuing, and a different group are dealing with a somewhat belligerent group of lizard folk. Eastward exploration has started, and another group have been sent to investigate reports of a dragon nesting in the Tors of Levinies.
In Business News: Southern Region prospers! V&A Shipping continue to pursue external trade links, and have developed better trade links with Mivon, while expanding their holdings, significantly, in Tusk.
Midmarch News
Midmarch Province
Viscount Henry has improved the route between Newgate and Oston, by building a road to the north of Outpost. The hope is that it will reduce the journey time from Newgate to Wyvern bridge by a day – facilitating trade from Restov to Wyvern Bridge. The route has been enhanced as Fiddler, priest of Erastil, has built a Holy Hose at a site he has called Estig - between Westgate and Bar-Z. It will help maintain a safe through route, while minimizing encroachments into the Fey reserve.
Ringbridge, Midmarch’s largest town, has been consolidating and building its defences. New farms and businesses have strengthened the town’ financial position, while better defences have earned Lord Cyrus a higher-ranking title.
Newgate, part of Lord Henry’s personal estates, has grown considerably . Already established as the capital of Midmarch and a headquarters for DELEM, Newgate is starting to grow into a more rounded town with a range of Businesses, educational establishments and public service buildings. It has grown significantly over the last couple of years, and is now regarded as a large town.
Aeris Estates have been busy. Lord Marik has now built a defensive wall around the New Dawn, earning himself a higher-ranking title in the process. He has also developed the town and improved trade links, making it easier to ship metals to the major trading towns of the region.
Vallani Estates have been busy as well. Feyfalls has grown again, and Lady Safiya has been concentrating on improving trading links along the canals that facilitate trade between Restov and Tusk. The Vallani Estate has an interesting collection of religious establishments - with a priory dedicated to Pharasma, a chapel dedicated to Andoletta, and holy houses dedicated to a number of other deities.
Tatzleford Has been developing in harmony with the local environment. A hunter’s camp, overseen by Rangers, along with a tannery, both supported by a local market in the town. They have also taken responsibility for the Boggard hex, to ensure that the natural world remains relatively undisturbed.
Wyvern Bridge has grown significantly. With investment from Lord Henry, The Church of Abadar, Lord Mordane and V&A Shipping, it has grown from a small village to a well established town in the space of a single year. It even has its own school and baths! It is, perhaps, destined for great things.
The Dosalic Region While the Sisters have ceded control of their estates to the province, to concentrate of their own projects, they still retain a lot of influence in t e region. Verna Goodbarrel, a local community leader who controls Hooktongue Mutual, acts as councillor for the region. Apple Lodge has grown into a local market town, and will support a rural countryside of farming hamlets.
Greater Tusk News
Tusk City has added yet another new district, this time intended for residential property. V&A have upgraded their facilities and now have a fully functioning Quayside, while House Yitis have introduced an armed keeler into service – the first to be based in Tusk. The city council has carried out a number of civic improvements, paving streets, building district walls and even introducing drainage into the city centre. It is fast becoming the Jewel of the Southern Region. However, the most significant development, for some, Will be the expansion of Sisters of the Moon to sell a much larger range of magic items. For others, it will be the opening of a dedicated wine merchant, in the Merchant Quarter or the Taldan baths in Ivory Hill.
The Tusk City (the team sponsored by Tusk Council) won the inaugural Scrymball league, with Lakeside Mulers second, Golden Keys third, with Stadium A propping the table up. We are expecting a more exciting tournament next year as Kiera's Wolf pack join in the fun.
Barleyboro continues to develop, with a new farm and community facilities in the village. A fishing hamlet, just across from the Shrike Bastion, supports a direct ferry service to Tusk. It is able to support both passengers and trade goods.
Silverton continues to develop its own personality, befitting its location on the main road into Tusk City. Lord Mordane has built an amphitheatre, to showcase the skills of students at the Bardic College.
The Roost is a new settlement south of Barleyboro, founded by Lord-Marshall Kendrick Winters. At the moment it just functions as a watch point, close to the mouth of the Gurdin river. He says it will e developed as a training school for cavalry, and that it will provide a patrol vessel or two in the Southern Tuskwater.
Reedham continues as a small fishing village.
