Fuzzy: Midmarch Estates 4716 development

There are now six estates in Midmarch:

The leMaistre Estate:  The personal holdings of Lord Henry and Lady Bai leMaistre.  House leMaistre have plans to develop their holdings at Newgate, Eastgate and Westgate - and invite applications  from interested parties.
  • Newgate is at the heart of the leMaistre holdings, this small town is dominated by the Castle and DELEM's Business operations, but there is plenty of room for growth.  Newgate sits squarely on the road between Tusk and Restov and has the potential to play a significant part in any new trade routes that open up.
  • Westgate is a village in West Midmarch, that will be developed into a small town.
  • Eastgate sits to the east of Ringbridge, and will have good trade access to Varnhold and any developments to the Southeast of Midmarch or Tusk.  However there is  uncertainty and, at the moment, Eastgate provides an outer defence to Ringbridge.

Lebeda-Ondari Estate:  Both Ringbridge and Mound belong to Cyrus and Valoria Lebeda-Ondari.
  • Ringbridge is a fortified town that guards the only bridge across the Shrike River and, potentially, at a cross-roads.  The main road between Varnhold and Midmarch/Tusk will cross the bridge and one day there is a water-borne trade route, between Restov and Tusk, along the River Shrike.  It is the second largest settlement in the Southern Region and boasts a good range of facilities and businesses.
  • Mound is a new development that serves as an outpost for Ringbridge.  It is set on the far side of the river and, as yet, undeveloped.

The Vallani Estate:  Whiterun and Feyfalls belong to Safiya Vallani, she has dug a canal between them, and opened a water-borne trade route between Restov and Tusk.
  • Whiterun is a small town at the foot of the Shrike Cascades on the river and canal route between Restov and Tusk.
  • Feyfalls is north of Whiterun, just above Crooked Falls on the river and canal route between Restov and Tusk.

Aeris Estate:  Marik Aeris owns the villages of New Dawn and Ironkeep, as well as a charter to manage contact with the Kobold holding at Sootscale.  Marik controls all the metal and mineral resources found in Midmarch.
  • New Dawn is the House Aeris 'flagship' settlement, it is close to a gold mine and is destined to become a town soon.  It has also become the 'destination of choice' for Dwarves, as Clan Stigmar and Clan Silverhammer both have holdings here.
  • Ironkeep is a village built around an iron mine.  It has a strong dwarf presence, but there isn't a lot of option for development here.

The Dosalic Estate:  Apple Lodge and Litwin Cove belong to the Dosalic sisters.  It is a brand new estate in West Midmarch.  Liwin Cove is an established fishing village, but  Apple Lodge lies on the main road west from Tusk to The Wyvern Bridge.

Wyvern Bridge:  A new village established where the Wyvern Bridge crosses the East Sellen River, owned by Pemar deleMaistre and Mia Ventus-leMaistre.  It is being constructed as a simple village, but is expected to grow into a small town fairly quickly.

When there is a lull in the conversation, Darius stands and offers a broad smile, "I apologize to everyone who may have been hoping to see Alanna today, she is currently at home nursing her newborn, so you're stuck with me providing an update on Lord Aeris' estates.

The town of New Dawn continues to thrive as new settlers continue to arrive and add their unique gifts to our community. In the last year we upgraded our small watchtower to a fort, ensuring a strong defense of our citizens and their property as well developing a local market for our farmers and craftsmen to sell the wares.

And we have even grander plans this year. Lord Aeris has decided that he would like New Dawn to become a center for arcane curiosity, training, enlightenment, and wonder. As such, we will be building the Aeris Academy of Arcane Arts in the Dawnside district of New Dawn, a new district that will be devoted to all manner of arcane training, arcane services, and of course the purchase of instruments of arcane power. The Academy itself with be a place of learning not only for prospective wizards, but also those, like sorcerers, whose arcane abilities have manifested spontaneously but still could use training and education to help them better understand and wield those abilities.

In keeping with the theme of education, we are happy to announce that the Forest Glen Training Compound will be opening as well. Initially, the compound will be focused on the training of scouts to aid our military forces in Midmarch, whether it's serving as a forward scout amongst a more conventional formation, or maintaining patrols of our lush forests and more rural lands. But the compound is not just a place for classroom learning, but rather a place for practical, hands-on learning led by Gabriel, one of the finest rangers in all of Midmarch, and includes the breeding and training of combat trained horses, hunting dogs, and hunting birds."

He paused a moment to allow the information to settle in and then continued, "As you can see, New Dawn continues to grow, and we would like nothing more than for your investments to help it grow stronger. We are especially interested in business interests related to arcane pursuits, but don't let that deter you from offering other investment ideas. In addition, Brother Lutz, senior priest of Torag within Midmarch, will be expanding the current Holy House devoted to Torag to a chapel, so we hope this will encourage more dwarven craftsmen to join Clan Silverhammer in bringing their considerable talents to New Dawn."

When the opportunity presents itself, Adoven stands and says "I have long wished to found a Bardic College. With Lord Cyrus' kind permission I would establish it in Ringbridge. My cousin, Frug, has recently returned from his studies at the Abbotts College in New Stetvan, and wishes to set up an Apothecary in Ringbridge as well. As soon as I feel he has grasped the essentials of management I'll be putting him in charge of the Great shrines and Holy houses dedicated to Cayden that will be scattered around Midmarch."

Rana sat quietly and watched the proceedings with interest.  She waited for a lull in the conversations, then stood up unsure if there was any particular protocol or format to these meetings.  With a small mental shrug, she delicately cleared her throat then began speaking.

"I know that I am fairly newly come to Midmarch, but I have been speaking to Lord Aeris and he has agreed to allow me to build a Taldan Bath in New Dawn.  Along with this, I will also be providing the funds so that public baths can be built in New Dawn."

She didn't know what else to say so she just smiled politely at the others gathered and sat back down.

He has offered my employer the opportunity to donate that money toward the construction of a well, and open a branch of her business in New Dawn's Dawnside district.  Sisters of the Moon has enjoyed respectable success out in Tusk's College district. We look forward to establishing this second location, and serving the budding Arcane Arts community."
