Lady Pipre looks around the large chamber of the old Town Hall, then glances at Cass, the Lord Mayor and Andalon, Bishop of Tusk.  "This meeting has been opened to discuss and agree development plans for Greater Tusk.  We will consider developments in Tusk City, the surrounding Hamlets, Barleyboro, Silverton, The Roost and Reedham."

With that, she indicates that she is ready to hear proposals.

Note:  Details of all of those settlements can be found on the Greater Tusk spreadsheet, which is linked from this page ...

Domitius stood indicating he wished to speak. "On behalf of house Solanus and with the agreement of Lord Kendrick we would build a hamlet in the hinterlands of the Roost.  I believe a Manor with a Ranch attached for the breeding of horses.  Further more I will be building a Masterwork Smithy within The Roost proper."

OOC: House Solanus will build a fortified Manor and Ranch in the Roost hinterland.

Domitius will be building a Master Crafter Smith in Roost

The leader of clan Silverhammer had sat next to Domitius and waited his turn to speak.  "My lords and ladies, Clan Silverhammer wish to upgrade our Gemsmith in Tusk to better cater to the local market.  One of the clans master crafters has agreed to move to Tusk, so he will need a suitable workspace."

OOC Clan Silverhammer wish to upgrade to a Master Crafters workshop.

Yasmin Yitis-Aldori clears her throat, and starts to speak.  ”My Lords, House Yitis would like to continue our developments at Shrikemouth.  We would like to Build a  home there, and develop a sword school, so that we can train our own marine guards, and family members.  We will, of course, train others in skill at arms, although skill with the duelling sword will not be a standard part of the curriculum.  We said, last year, that we would fund a Local Patrol Boat, to be housed at our community jetty in Shrikemouth and hand control of that to Tusk council, to help fit in with your co-ordinated defence of these waterways.  While we are experienced in the ways of armed merchant vessels, we know that we are not military minded, and would hand complete control of the boat to the council, however, we would be pleased if a number of our trainees were included into the crew of the boat, to help give them suitable experience.  That would finalise our developments in Shrikemouth, and give House Yitis a proper base, and a sense of belonging, in our new home.

Finally, we would like to add a second Armed Keeler to out small fleet in Tusk.  I hope this all meets with the council’s approval.”

Adoven stands and says "Good Ladies and Gentlemen, V&A shipping is taking this year to consolidate our holdings abroad, although our boatyard will be very busy. My eyes are on the future, and I believe that Tusk has the potential to rival New Stetvan in size and prestige. As you have noticed, I have converted a group of piers into a full quayside, and we are able to handle the traffic of a metropolis. As plans for expansion move forwards, I ask that a new District be opened alongside the bay, where I can build the support needed for a proper Waterfront."

OOC: V&A's assets are securing and building no less than 5 new mercantile bases this Turn, which I think will create 2 new Trade Routes. I have no BPs to spend in Tusk this turn, but I WILL NEED SPACE to build the additional Large Warehouse and the Shopping Court I need to create a Waterfront base.

Andalon replies shortly after Adoven has spoken.

"Tusk City Council is still considering the City's own plans for development but I believe I can safely say that the City does indeed plan to open up that new eastern lakeshore district that Adoven has mentioned. After that there is only one other potential district outstanding in the outer ring of the City of Tusk, on the western side outside Ivory Hill. We feel that now is the right time to open up that new district as well, to complete the outer ring of the City. We propose to construct a new outer city wall (small wall) around that complete outer ring of districts, as well, to continue to strengthen Tusk as the key defensive stronghold on this side of the southern lands of Midmarch and Tusk.

"We will continue our ongoing program of civic improvements as we progress towards the ultimate goal of having all districts with paved streets and proper drainage systems in place.   The inner city is already fully paved and drained. The middle ring is fully paved and we will complete the drainage system throughout the middle ring this year. The outer ring currently only has paved streets in two of the four existing districts but we plan to pave the streets of Domos and Downwind this year, as well.

"I feel confident in saying that the City Council will very gladly welcome further new economic development proposals in Tusk, such as Clan Silverhammer's upgrade of their gemsmith's workshop and Lord Adoven's future plans for expansion. If anyone else would like to propose further economic development in Tusk City, we would be delighted to hear from you."

He turns to Yasmin Yitis-Aldori and bows his head slightly to her.

"House Yitis is a valued trading partner and you are a Member of the Southern Chapter of the Brevic Knights. Your proposals for a second armed keeler based in Tusk and a mansion and sword school at Shrikemouth would be completely consistent with that membership status, so I will be recommending that the City Council should approve your requests."

Brother Florin steps forward a little while later to seek approval for a new development of his own.

"As you know, I have already established a museum over in the College District. Now I would like to expand it to include an art gallery, as well. Do you think that would be all right?" he asks a little nervously.

OOC For completeness' sake I should mention the building of 3 Keelers.

1 for Ringbridge
1 for Mivon
1 for Restov
Each one is to satisfy a condition for a City Base, although only Mivon currently has all the elements for a City Base. All Ringbridge lacks is the population of a Small City, but they will reach that soon enough. And Restov? I am just beginning to build there, but I have plans......

Having taken full advantage of the complimentary refreshments while those less skilled in the fine art of meetings squander the opportunity in an effort to get their concerns before council soonest, Dame Berta wisely waits till everyone is a lot more mellow before rising to present whatever her brothers told her to.

Holding up a sheaf of papers and favouring Pipre with a winning smile, the bright light of House Roth pipes up:

"We're looking to make our own fruit brandy so we want to establish a farm to grow plums in a hamlet to the north of town, as well as a distillery in town."

"I like brandy ..."
