At an opportune moment, Cass stood to present his case. “Unless it provides a conflict, I propose a few additions for Duskside. Namely, I would like to build the Champion Hotel and the Aeris Ampitheater. All economic revenue from the Ampitheater would remain with Marik, in perpetuity. To balance out these considerations, I would also make a civic donation that could be used for Duskside or any of New Dawn.”

The Aeris Ampitheater (4 bp)

An old dwarf, leaning heavily on a stick, stomps into the room and looks around.

"My name is Tokam Lorson, and I have come from Brundeston to build a school in Newdawn.  Hrmmph!  There are enough dwarves here that they should be taught properly, and I shall be talking to all the dwarves  around here, reminding them of their obligations towards the education of their children."

Tokan glares around the room, picking out any Dwarves present for a particularly sharp glance.

"Greetings all; I'm new here, as a retainer of House Solanus in Tusk, most of my business engagements are conducted out there.  However, lately we've been speaking to the owner of Ringbridge's magic shop, about acquisition of that business.   Presently, we run a large, thriving shop in Tusk, as well as a newer and smaller one in New Dawn.  The Ringbridge locale makes sense for our expansion, midway between the two as it is.  And, we're experienced in serving the diverse caster population that a large city tends to present."

Wish to buy Rose's Ringbridge magic shop for 4bp.

Hargrym noted the new Dwarfs glare and returned it with one as fierce.  "The sons and daughters of clan Silverhammer will be taught by our own, not by some stranger." he turns back to Lady Bai "Forgive me Lady Bai, I have come for business,  Winter Sun Merchants have agreed to sell the Mercenary base in Ringbridge to House Solanus.  Given this is but an internal transfer we dont expect any issues."

The old Dwarf turns lowly to glare at Hagrym.  "Clan Silverhammer?  Birthed out of a whitesmith of great skill and repute.  A clan of metal and stone workers, with a newly developed interest in gemstones?  I know your stories and your history, perhaps better than you.  Your skills and your crafts, no, those are yours to teach.  The great stories of the Dwarves and the clans, and especially the stories of the Golka are my clan's domain.

Your forebears will have been taught in our schools, your elders will have used our libraries, back in  the great minehold, that has  now gone.  It is my clan's job to nurture the sprit, stories and history of the clans.  We do so in Greyhaven, Restov, Bundeston and even New Steven.  In these difficult times, it is our shops that bring those dwarven comforts, we all miss so much.  The Dwarf Sausage, the Nubbe, even proper Dwarf ale, in some places.

That is Clan Lorson's task.  The new school, to be built here, has been paid for by the church of Torag.  Elder Stigmar of New Dawn and  Gandred, Torag's priest in Ringbridge, have provided the funds.  They understand that we need to bring the true history and lore of the Dwarves and Clan Golka to these new lands. You, and your children, should thank them for that."

"Newdawn is doing well."  Bai comments.  "We were hoping to build a Three Ladies school here as well, and Henry said that he will build the mint that you have been pestering him for." Although there is a smile that takes the sting out of the last comment.

Alanna stands and offers a bright smile to all in attendance, "Lord Aeris would like to thank the generosity of all those investing in New Dawn, especially the Lord Mayor," she add with a nod in Cass' direction.

"Lord Mayor, your civic contributions will be put to good use, as they will enable us to build a public park in Sundance Square that all citizens and visitors alike will be able to enjoy. In addition, the funds, with a small addition of Lord Marik's own funds will be used to build an orphanage. This is a passion project for Lord Marik, having grown up on the streets himself, and he thanks you greatly."

She pauses for a moment to catch her breath before continuing, "In addition, Lord Marik will be investing heavily in New Dawn as well. In Sundance Square he will be adding a Town Hall to aid in administering our growing town; I'm sure I will be spending a lot of time there," she says with a small chuckle. "In our Merchant Quarter, a cousin of Valgard Bouldershoulder, our reeve of Iron Keep, will be opening a magical armor shop. In addition, significant improvements to Duskside, quickly becoming the place in Northern Midmarch for an evening of entertainment, will be made. In addition to the hotel and ampitheatre the Lord Mayor has promised, Lord Marik will be building a dance hall and theatre, as well as adding magical street lights throughout the district to ensure the fun doesn't have to end when night falls."

She takes a sip from the glass of wine she's holding, "And finally, in Dawnward, our own advocate, Darius, will be opening a small magical shop. In addition, Lord Marik will be building a library to support the students attending the Aeris Academy of the Arts located there, and will be adding magical street lights here as well, only fitting for our magical district."

"I am delighted to see that New Dawn is prospering so well and particularly delighted to hear that the plans for a mint at New Dawn are going ahead," Andalon responded. "Now seems like the perfect time to announce something that Marik and I have been discussing for a some time. The Church of Abadar would be delighted to establish a branch of the Bank of Abadar in New Dawn, too."

"That is indeed an impressive amount of development and expansion for New Dawn," concurred Sejana.

"And in fact, since profits were good this year, we've got a small amount of resources as yet unallocated.  So, in addition to the acquisition of Rose's shop, we'd also like to upgrade our store in New Dawn to provide magical services, as do our other locations.   Doing so would include whatever Lord Aeris or his chancellor deem as a suitable public works for the area." Sejana smiled.

"Of course, if it is approved, it becomes an all too convenient excuse for me to visit on site, partake of the nightlife, and shop and party like a fiend."

Adoven checks his notes, makes an 'aha!' noise, and addresses the council once more. "It appears that the funds necessary to expand our operations in Ringbridge are available after all. We propose to expand our warehouse's size to accommodate increased traffic. We are razing the V&A merchant store and instead are creating a Regional Market that fits the cosmopolitan tempo that Ringbridge is establishing. V&A will be donating the materials and manpower to pave the roads in the dockside district to improve efficiency among the merchants and tradesmen. With these developments we feel that Ringbridge is ready for whatever growth the city goes through."

OOC Expanding Warehouse to Large Warehouse for 1 bp. Replacing Merchant store with Regional Market for 1.5 bp. Market adds +1 Economy +1 Loyalty +1 Stability. Large warehouse adds +1 Economy. Paved Streets (2 bp) add +2 Stability +2 Loyalty.  With these purchases, V&A now has a City base in Ringbridge, which will get the full benefit once Ringbridge reaches the required population.

Andalon returns some time later with a couple of additional proposals.

"Our new Bank at New Dawn should ideally be supported by a religious presence in the town, as well. I would therefore like to build an Abadaran Holy House in New Dawn, too."

"We already have a great shrine in Ringbridge but with the growth of the town I think the time is right to upgrade that to a Holy House, if Lord Cyrus and Lady Valoria agree? Next year we would probably like to upgrade that further to a chapel."

Cyrus looks confused for a moment, before responding.  "There is no room for development in the Main District, so your regional market will have to be located in the outer ward, as the space cleared in Main will be required to expand your warehouse facilities.  However, we can accommodate those changes." he responds to Adoven.   "However, I believe that the  district in question already has paved streets, although we would be delighted to accept your donation, and build drains in that district instead.  It will be the start of our new phase of civic developments."

"And of course we would be delighted to see the Church of Abadar, providing an enhanced support for our residents." Cyrus replies to Bishop Andalon, "However, you should note that even our outer ward is starting to fill up now, and there will be little space for development even there.  We may need to start a new district soon." he muses softly.
