Damn. Have to wait on Pipre to respond to me before I can even bring up my need to build expansions to V&A shipping. Andalon is a second member of the Tusk council. Who is the third?

Look in the Fuzzy: Tusk Development thread - then the important business conversation won't get caught up in all the general chit chat.  Remember you can be in as many Fuzzy: threads (at the same time) as you like.

Re: Character Updates
Campaign System Rules and BP -  For those of you who wish to spend more time considering you options, you may defer receiving your BP until later in the game -  when you will be able to take two BP at once.

The down side to that is that you don't start earning income from the BP until you invest it - so you will finish up a bit behind those who start investing immediately.

However, there might be able to find someone who would like to borrow your BP.  You might be able to talk them into paying interest or doing a favour for you.

Is someone new playing aris'ta? We adventured together a lot, we cleared both the hunters rest and the shrine. She would definitely know Pipre, lol.

On the surface, your ideas sound great. You are acting in a fitting manner for the people :) Not to business people :)

There are, of course, three members on the council that makes the actual decision, and it is really good to have well presented, strong positions going into that discussion.  :)

Re: Character Updates
Gah. A granary and a park will take up 3 bp in resources. I can't do that and work on expanding my economic base. No one at my level has that kind of wealth. Maybe I'll have to look into making Ringbridge my Town base.

Re: Character Updates
There are definitely a few more options we can look at. Speaking of taxes, does Tusk have a BP pool outside of our own individual pools?

Re: Character Updates
I mean, if they can afford to let you just use up economy without offsetting for loyalty/stability then that would probably be fine, but as it is we don't have the coffers to offset it for you so you literally can't build what you want unless you offset it.

Cass, we have 1 BP outside our individual pools. That's what we accrue per period and is no where near enough to actually build a city with, lol. It's in one of those threads.

Re: Character Updates
Not that I don't like being part of this discussion... this sounds like great RPing opportunities. But then again, if a character has lower INT then these discussion may be beyond their capabilities.

Now how can Borric get in on these discussions :)

EDIT: I mean how does Kendric get in on these discussions

In reply to Pipre (msg # 788):

New? No. But I do like that Pipre instantly freaks out over a lack of joviality. Aris'ta has always been a touch of an awkward social butterfly. Although forgove me for Not having vivid recollections on the tip of my mind to bring to account. My memory is of Aris being more aloof and if GM NPC'd her as a bit more open than I missed that. I will see if I can read up a bit

Additionally, she might be playing with you and failing. As I mentioned, shes awkward. As for the Drow comment. Not your typical Drow, I assure you.

We consoled her when rook rejected her, we cleared two camps together. I've taken baths with her, lol. There's no way she doesn't know who Pipre is. If she was joking, then my response can be just as jovial I guess?

Re: Character Updates
Thanks. I should have looked in the Tusk Town Development thread before I asked.

It seems that individuals with more than 1 BP will need to spend at least a portion of that overage at this time to maintain the infrastructure to ensure that there is a market to provide economic growth in the future. That BP, half BP, or more can be considered a tax, an investment, or a loan dependent on negotiations.

Cass himself is trying to determine whether it is best this round to invest in his own business more heavily and use the smaller portion for infrastructure, or vice versa. In either case, the necessary investments in infrastructure will have to be made. Ringbridge will fail just as easily if infrastructure is lopsided toward commerce over stability and loyalty.

Re: Character Updates
In reply to Pipre (msg # 797):

If thats what I was doing, sure.  But building a district wall with my bp will generate both 1 stability and 1 loyalty, enough to partially offset the 2 economy that the merchant buildings create. Once I have a town base established, my economic growth increases and I can invest in other projects. But such diversions of funds and resources are quid pro quo, you know.

Re: Character Updates
Cass, I'll build a bath and donate .5 to a jail if you pay the remaining 1 to a jail.

that'd be an increase of 1 loyalty and 2 stability.

Then we could get 1 from the coffer, and add 3x .5 contribution from lex, tansy, and rikka for a 2.5 total and get a hospital. that'd be a total of 1 economy, 3 loyalty, 3 stability for 4 BP. Any money made from the hospital's 1 economy can just be added to town coffers.

Re: Character Updates
I mean, not really, Adoven. The cost of getting in early is having to help with infrastructure. If you would like to wait until we have all our bases settled then that's fine, but the BP is better spent early to earn you larger income.

edit: we could all increase our Economy right now but there's no foundation for it. I would have liked to increase my business but I just can't see any way to do it without destabilizing the district.

edit 2: if you take the deal to spend your next round of BP on the park/granary to offset your economy sink now then you're basically getting the best deal, because the rest of us (I think) are investing in the town which will only just barely offset your proposed expansion. The only reason I'm willing to do it because it's better to raise loyalty/stability and let someone increase economy so that next turn they have greater income than if we had all just saved the BP.
