Re: Character Updates
what I can say concerning quid pro quo is that it'd be nice for Tusk Town to generate enough town funds that we can really bankroll loyalty/stability and have more than enough economy for personal ventures, so in regards to that your early contributions would definitely be taken into account.

Didn't we also gain 1 bp in resources for Tusk during our last On the Water venture?

Kendrick, just join in on any of the day development threads. :)

Which do you suggest. There's been a flurry of posts in multiple fuzzy threads :)

btw, the thing I overlooked was that the levels only had to be within 1 of each other, that makes things quite a bit simpler.

Off the top of my head -  I don't remember that (But that means nothing - according to my son, I have the memory of a dead cat)  I have had a quick look, nut only a quick one   -  BUT  if you can find it in the thread  I'll happily honour it :)

Kendric, if you want official discussion, try the Tusk Town Development thread.

If you would like to kick around a few general ideas or ask questions, you can chat with Cass in the Tusk Planning Meeting where Henry announced his engagement.

Re: Character Updates
Kind of a meta question: I have a single BP but am not in a position (nor does it make much sense character wise) to start building anything on my own. How do I go about donating it to a larger project (something basic like infrastructure)?

Re: Character Updates
You might offer to lend it to Tusk -  so that you can reclaim it from them later.  You only get given two BP - and you then have to work them up to something sensible  :)

If it were me, I might be tempted to offer it to Tusk as a loan now, so long as it is returned next round -  and that you are given favourable treatment when it comes to building.

Re: Character Updates
It is a bit of a moot point as to how BP work, IC -  because they are (really) a meta-gaming construct to represent your influence in the  setting.  Henry assigns you PCs settlers to oversee while we are in the  Fuzzy Campaign parts of the game.  You are allowed (as part of your reward) to benefit from the work that they do - by getting them to build something for you.  You settlers might be clearing a field, digging a ditch or building a road -  it doesn't matter.  Someone else's settlers are cutting timber, collecting field stone, fishing to provide food for the workers etc etc.

It all comes together that everyone gets something out of it - the new settlers earn their land, get a job or set up a minor business.  You get .... whatever you want -  so long as you can use 1bp to build it (or at least start to build it)

One way to handle it IC   would be to join the Town Development Meeting thread - and ask how you might be able to help the town, while you learn more about the place and consider your future ...

Then OOC -  offer a BP deal in the same post :)

There are other threads for Ringbridge and Midmarch (the region) if you think you might want to invest elsewhere (although Tusk is designated as the capital)

Re: Character Updates
Is anyone else besides Fiddler interested in using or loaning a BP to Tusk Town?

Mister Fiddler, do you have any long range plans that we might begin working toward?

Or instead of loaning it to Tusk town, you can partner with me to start a general store. It's a humble beginning, but you got to start somewhere. LOL

Unless of course, there is a better offer.
What is the return on investing in Tusk Town?
Wow, Tusk Town is basically issuing bonds :)

See the Ranch / Vineyard -  that can be flavoured into an sort of farm, really.  That is how Zorah is getting her Horse Breeding Ranch.

NOTE:  I will give you 2bp as a start (but not both at the same time).  Anything more that that has to be earned withing the Campaign Rules system (except in exceptional circumstances) - those ranches cost 3bp ....  (so you need some investments and a deal that gets you a return ....

Re: Character Updates
Anyone willing to offer 2bp for the construction of a shallop can get be k 2.5 bp next Turn if I've got this figured right. The interest paid back is worth getting the Economy boost from a Town Base this turn.

Re: Character Updates
It's actually not that great of a deal. Realize if you spent the 2bp yourself, you'd end up with 1bp yourself next turn. So you're actually losing .5 bp with that deal.

Re: Character Updates
If you give him 2bp, he says he'll give you 2.5 back, which you can then use to buy something.

If you buy a shallop yourself for 2bp, it will generate 1bp for you, that you can then use. Thus after next turn you would have had a total of 3bp to spend.

Iím interested in eventually creating a network of wayside rests and shelters. I would anchor this network with inns allowing travelers, trades people, hunters and pilgrims to more safely move through out the expanding kingdom.

Pipreís cigarettes also gave me an idea. Fiddler is a great lover of pipe smoke. I wonder if we could use some combination of alchemy and item creation to make special tobacco with magical properties or benefits (similar to a potion or one shot wonderous item).
