Re: OOC2

Interesting...... does this mean that I might be able to get away with freely expanding a warehouse to a large warehouse, or a jetty to a pier without paying into a community project, because the improvements in Economy will balance out the improvements in Stability and Loyalty? Because if I can convince El to invest this turn, I can expand both, increasing Economy by +2, which directly balances the +2 Loyalty/+2 Stability given by the paved roads.

Only problem I see is that paved roads ONLY influences a single district. To cover the whole city, you need to invest in paved roads for 3 Districts. Now, does that add +2 Loyalty/Stability to the entire city, or does that add +6 Loyalty/Stability to the city?

Re: OOC2

I believe that if you offer 2 BP for paved roads in a district, that you would be able to spend 1 BP each to upgrade to a large warehouse and a pier, and keep the town in balance.

Not sure about the +2/+6 aspect. I am sure the DM will clarify once he sees the thread.

Re: OOC2

Actually, I thought I saw someone else planning to pave roads already. If they went ahead with that, it would leave an imbalance....one I can try to correct with my own expansions. If I have to invest in the paved roads myself, that will take time, at least one or two more Kingdom turns.

Re: OOC2

Paving roads is  there as a space-saving way of increasing Loyalty and Stability -  So it adds to the city over all.

I suspect I should make 'District Wall' - as a pre-requisite though ....

Yep  :)

That was just a casual thought that came into my head as you started me thinking about the process.

That said, I think  you can still manage a third district wall for Port Henry as well.

Not this turn I can't. Does anyone know what the stars next to Sword School and Merchant house mean?

Re: OOC2

Sorry - that wasn't meant as a suggestion for you personally -  but was just an analysis of what Tusk Council could achieve.

I thought I had posted this link earlier  http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....aign_systems:rewards

Basically, the more stars a building has, the better the accommodation provided for residents  :)  It is based (loosely) on the PF 'cost of living guidelines'.

Is there a defensive wall around the entire town of Tusk or no?

Re: OOC2

Hi DM, back in msg #188 of this thread I noticed you had said, "I have been thinking about the next set of tasks, and have decided that I do want to differentiate groups more by level this time.  For that reason all of the characters in groups 1, 2 & 3 will go up a level during this kingdom phase."

I nearly missed that comment. Does that mean that all characters in those groups can level up now, including existing level 4 and 5 characters?

Re: OOC2

Yes.

I would have re-iterated it again soon, but I have been waiting until everyone was back from adventures - which we all are  now (just about)

However, this is as good a time as any.   All characters in groups 1,2 & 3 can advance a level now they are comfortably back in Midmarch

Do we need to wait to update sheets until after Tusk Central resolves?

Do entourage advance now as well?

Hehehe.

I guess you'll just have to challenge the higher level PC's harder to re-solidify your reputation ;)

Not us lowly 3rd levels though of course, we're still just babes in the woods!

"Oi, Carrot Top" is a much more appropriate welcome. I hear it might even become the official welcome of Midmarch.

This might be a good option for newer players with just1bp, who haven't yet developed a  plan on how to spend it yet.  It might even be a whole new business model -  set up a 'hedge fund' and ask the bank to manage investments for you (for a share of the interest of course)

I  saw Adoven post a similar request (somewhere) for people to lend him BP as well.

People have negotiated interest payments on loans, and it might be interesting to see what both are offering.

Re: OOC2

Usually I offer 1.5 BP back for a 1 BP investment. 1 BP the following turn and 0.5 BP  the turn after. But I can at most handle paying back two investors at this time. No more than that.

Find it difficult to sit with 0.5BP. So I'd like to borrow 0.5BP or lend out 0.5BP. Anyone able to work with that?

Hmmm. I wonder if the DM would allow me to open a gambling den and let people bet with BPs. We could have this nation built in no time!
