Re: OOC2

^^^ I think you have the right of it. Just wait til those crafters get around to creating baby oil.

Also, with each new announcement, I discover :

DM:
The Player Information Thread has a list of the BPs that you can spend.

But every time I go to check it, those BPs haven’t increased from last time. Is there a secret that I am missing?

Re: OOC2

I don't know.  However, you section has been updated.  It says ..

Cass

I think you probably get the same amount of BP as last time  :) but the maths is different.

If that isn't what you see in this thread  link to a message in this game  Then please let me know.

For anyone else having difficulty -  the BPs section is at the bottom of that thread

Re: OOC2

I was just being silly. Indicating that the number of BPs should be magically increasing with each new thread that I read with the reminder of where to find such information. Increasing from the last time I read it, not just from last kingdom building turn. Your accounting, as usual, looks to be stunningly accurate. So accurate that it reminds me that I will still need to request to borrow .5 BP for this round. But hopefully the investment will have me squared away for all future rounds.

Re: OOC2

You currently owe the governor 0.5 bp and repaying that is included in the calculation.

In this instance, seeing as you borrowed the money to do something that The Governor requested -  he would probably be prepared to extend the loan for another turn - if he was asked.

What I want to know is how the 8.5 bp I had to spend 2 weeks ago dropped to 6.8 bp??
And how the hell does one have .8 bp in the first place? NOTHING generates a quarter of a bp.

I replied to your private message.  I don't understand where you are getting 6.8 from.  I see the following (PM) in the Player Information Thread.

It is generally strongholds that have fractions of a BP  to account for.

After some discussion, Stas's player has decided that this game is not for him and has decided to leave us.  For the interim, Stas will become an NPC and then fade into the background.

Re: OOC2

I forgot that with the three parties in separate groups, you can't all see what is going on now.

All Locations as per the Group 0 map.

The Group who went West have discovered (and are currently clearing) an abandoned villa in Hex Blue F.  This could be used as a Stronghold Base - and could become a Fortified Villa at half cost.

The Group who went West also visited Bogside / Drowned trees - The village at Hex Blue H.  Once run by bandit/pirates it was liberated.  Since then it has been taken over by Captain Kressle and her not-so-merry Men.  The group intend to warn Henry that the current rulers are as bad as the last lot.  That might  also be available as a stronghold base -  or as an addition to any stronghold centred on Hex Blue F.

Assuming he has money left, Governor Henry intends to build a road from Bar-z Through the forested hex to Hex Blue D.  Lord Henry intends to claim Hex Blue D (on behalf of Lady Bai) and build an Outpost there.  However, he has no plans to claim any of the surrounding hexes.

The group that were tasked with exploring the Narlemarch -  has discovered an Old  Keep at the head of the Skunk River - but it appears to be occupied by some fairly nasty fey-folks.  That might be available  as the core of a Forest based stronghold later.  Hex Pink L

Re: OOC2

If the movers and shakers of Midmarch break through to Lake Hooktongue, that sets up a whole new economic opportunity in regards to New Stetven. I am not sure if things will move in that direction, but if they do, it could mean a whole new settled area outside of Midmarch.

Also, at this time, I should probably ask.

Are there any players with BP who are not sure what to do with them?

We would be happy to make suggestions. Tusk town finds itself in the middle of its largest growth cycle yet, and is still in need is some economic infusement. And there are always civic interests that you can donate to at the moment if you aren’t really looking to concentrate on economic (or BP) gain at the moment. And it isn’t just Tusk, Midmarch is growing everywhere.

In reply to DM (msg # 686):

And the fact that Henry is maintaining a roadway system that coincides with the waterways. Land based shipping and mercantilism will soon see a dramatic increase as well.

Maybe some more bards need to be hired to increase the population of Midmarch.

I have a few ideas as to what I'd like to do with mine, but I'm always open for hearing about other possible ideas, sure.

Just to complicate matters .....

I am off on holiday very early Sunday Morning, and will be away for a week - January in the UK is cold, but January in the Canary Islands is warm!

I will have wi-fi and my tablet with me, but I won't have access to my spreadsheets and other data.  I can deal with general queries -  anything that involves combat or needs a detailed response will have to wait  :)

I think I put some BP towards a chapel or similar, and I think I can add a graveyard depending on BP and available space. I think it was in Tusk, I have a few messages to double check, but if I have spare I'll probably lend some out again - I'll double check.

DM:
*evil Grin*  Unfortunately, Marceline, you are in difficult terrain and can't charge through the undergrowth.  Indeed, you are restricted to half movement.

Don't want to clog the thread with ooc but gotta say - That's not good :/

Marceline  :)  You built a Holy House in Silverton (Cass's new settlement just outside Tusk) last round.  It was all a bit rushed and last minute for all of us.

Re: OOC2

In reply to Kiera (msg # 689):

It all depends where your interests lay. Usually, that is commercial to accrue more BPs. But there are also civil aspects and role playing aspects as well.
For instance, one well known merchant has not only requested to increase his business, but is starting to build a villa for himself, and is also putting forth the future prospect of a military academy.

There is no real economic gain to a military academy, but it would help protect merchant interests as well as all of the citizens of Midmarch. You could enquire about joining in on such a venture or a number of other opportunities.

Re: OOC2

If anyone is interested in investing in Oston (formerly Oleg's), we have 0.5 BP of the town's that are available as a loan this Kingdom Round

Conditions of the loan:
 - No interest
 - To be repaid next Kingdom turn
 - Needs to be invested in Oston to increase the Economy by at least +1 to help us stay in balance up there.
 - Can't increase Loyalty

Shoot me a message if you're interested in a loan like that.

Re: OOC2

The Bank of Abadar in Tusk is now the administrator of a small pool of BP's on behalf of several local investors.  So loans of up to one BP may be available to anyone who needs some extra funds for a building or business development anywhere in Midmarch.

Conditions of the loan:
 - 50% interest (i.e. borrow 1BP, repay 1.5BP)
 - To be repaid over the next two Kingdom turns (repay 1BP next turn and the final 0.5BP on the following turn)
 - Subject to the proposed development being approved by the relevant Council or authority in charge of the settlement where the development is proposed.

If anyone would like to enquire about a loan, talk to me in the Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar thread.

Similarly, if anyone has BP they don't have a use for and would like to add them to the funds available for loan, talk to me in the Fuzzy: Bank of Abadar thread.

OOC: Although it is now 1AM where I live and I'm heading for bed, so don't expect a reply immediately. You know how it is with business hours for banks.  ;)

I think I know what I'm going to do with mine, after a lot of thought and questions: invest it in a place of my own.

A bar, in the Lakeside district.  Starting out as a little place, but maybe expanding to offer entertainment and rooms for let as it grows.  Might be a little rougher, but... hey, militia and drover-types love their booze, and it would keep them all in one place...
