Re: OOC2

TBH, I was a bit concerned about it when we had a L2-L5 spread - which is one of the reasons I am starting people at L3 and keeping L4/5s back when the others advance.  That should make parties a bit more homogenous.

I think I am beginning to favour parties with a range of levels, rather than trying to keep everyone with characters of the same level.

Re: OOC2

I want to comment on my reasons for the current recruiting and levelling up plan.

My initial thought was to carry on in the way that I had been  ‘Put every character up a level when we came in for a kingdom round and recruit at a level below  the lowest level characters’.  However, that would have given me a L2 to L6 split, and as Andalon implied in the OOC - that really would mean splitting parties by level.  I am not a good enough GM to make a series of encounters that challenge a L6 Character  but still leaves a good chance of a L2 staying alive all the way through.

So I decided to advance the L2 and L3 Characters - BUT not the L4 & L5 characters, and recruit at L3.  This gives me a L3-L5  character and means I can spread people out around the parties based on  a variety of other reasons - rather than just level.

Characters who are currently L2 will go to L3 when they get back to Tusk - and will not be worse of, in any sense, than new characters coming in.

Nah, just didn't want to get too ahead of them. Maybe they can save Stas from the grouchy old dwarf. I'm sorry, he'll warm up eventually, I swear :P

Re: OOC2

Guys, think of 'The Drovers' as a place you can chat amongst yourselves, until all new players are ready to set off on a small introductory adventure.

I thought it was a better option than leaving you all sitting with nowhere to post.

BTW I have just added Kiera to your little group.

Re: OOC2

Folks, I am going away for a short vacation - we leave very early Saturday morning and I won't be back until the following Sunday.  I don't know what internet access I will have and I won't have access to the maps and some material that I use.

Groups 1,3 & 4 - I will get you all a substantive post either this evening or tomorrow.

Group 2 -  I have opened up your map, for when you move.

Fuzzy Threads:  I will try to get a post into each of them before I go - so long as it is relevant.

I just love the Canary Islands at this time of year ....

Canary Islands? How posh!

Actually, have an extraordinary vacation!

Mister Stas, that sounds like a very interesting idea.

Why do canaries get their own island when I don't have one?

Ahh.  I think you have it the wrong way around.  The birds are native to the islands, and very loyal, they have been trained as spies and set abroad to report back.  The residents are descendants of Spanish Conquistadors - who conquered the canaries, and killed/displaced all the locals,  on their way to south/middle America - way back when.  They are still very proud of their conquistador fore-fathers.

I have changed my fuzzy post, I was a bit iffy about asking anyway.

I for one support the Canary liberation front in their efforts to regain power in their homeland.

Thank you  :)  Fuzzy threads can be a bit difficult at times.  But, I think they add something to the game -  so we will persevere with them.

In other news, I think I have got a couple of characters misplaced on the 'Kobolds' map.  Assume you are in the positions you gave me, rather than those, I have put you in.  :)

Thanks, Liam. Got it back to the Dragons Den.

But now everyone can see that it wasn't as nice a post as I was letting on. :O

Yay!  The holiday apartment had decent broadband  :)   You can never quite be sure …

So I will be around to answer questions and make minor posts.  The rest of the time will involve trips to see Volcanic Caldera, looking at astronomical observatories, whale watching, eating and drinking wine …. (hic)
