Pretty much :)

I think my last post left you just outside Ringbridge -  but was vague enough to let you guys get stuck into any conversations  (etc) that you wanted.

Once the party is back in town, I'll kick off another couple of RP threads where people can talk and socialise between themselves and across groups.

For you newer characters, it is also time to start thinking about how (or if) you want you get involved in the Kingdom building side of the game (it isn't compulsory).  At the same time we can look at entourage members etc.  Some of the characters who have been here for longer, are already planning how they are going to develop their holdings and entourage  :)

I am always happy to discuss plans and give advice on using the Kingdom Building Rules, in PMs.

I have a few things planned for when more people get into town :)

I think it is probably fair to give you the context behind that last post.  Some of you know already, others don't.

Nearly 10 years ago I was diagnosed with chronic Post Viral Fatigue.  This is similar to ME and CFS - and means that every so often I run right out of energy.  The effect can range from that stuffy head, can't think feeling, you get during a bad cold - that might just last for a half a day or so.  Through to an absolute lethargy complete with aches pains and a need to sleep 13-14 hours a day - that can last for a couple of weeks.

Initially, I was unable to work at all, then went part-time  for 3-4 years, and now I am back working full time, and holding down a reasonable job, in my professional field again.  In part this is because the symptoms have reduced over the years, and partly because I can recognise triggers better and then manage the things that cause the worst effects.

However, sometimes things get away from me and sometimes (such as really busy times at work) I have to work much closer to my limits than I am happy with, and get pushed closer to 'the edge'.

Yesterday was one of those days - and I suspect there might be more in the foreseeable future.  We are going through a really busy time a work with three out of four posts unfilled -  We are working to fill the other posts, but at the moment there is just me ....

But you know what they say "There can be only one ..."  :)

Re: OOC2

Thank you.  I'm feeling better today and more in control of things.  Yesterday it was leave work after lunch, sleep for a couple of hours, and then feel like a grumpy zombie all evening.  I did nothing but play Facebook games (and lose quite a lot) and watch  music videos (from about 50 years ago) on YouTube.

Mega frustrating  and unproductive - but sometimes I need it.

Re: OOC2

Wow, you are a superhero! The workload you had mentioned before sounded like an overload, and that would be for someone who didn't have health concerns in the mix.

I am struggling with CFS now, and it is a battle for me to just keep my head above water. Take care of your RL concerns as you need. Gaming is for fun and relaxation, not to add in more stress.

Re: OOC2

Cass, for me it is all about management -  and not giving in to it.  But we all need to find our own ways to do that.

In some ways this is a much quieter life to the one I used to lead 10-15 years ago.  I have become more of a willow, bowing before the winds that blow around me -  rather than the solid old Oak tree that stood in the middle of everything and invited the world to 'come and get me if you can.

But as I say, we all have to find our own compromise with everything that is going on around us, inside us and to us.  A time consuming game on RPoL makes up for some of the other hobbies I can't do quite so much, anymore.

Feel good soon mate  :)

Before posting in the group 2 thread, Marcy just wants to come back to town to help bury Gehron and catch up with the Roths, do you need a group 2 post or just a fuzzy town post?

Re: OOC2

Thanks Guys  :)  I have just updated the Player Information Notice Thread with details of PC income (groups 1,2 & 3 for the next Kingdom round.  Group 4, you will be in and established for the next Kingdom Round.

If you haven't already done so, it is time to start planning.

This might include looking at your Entourage Assistants as well.  I have been thinking about the next set of tasks, and have decided that I do want to differentiate groups more by level this time.  For that reason all of the characters in groups 1, 2 & 3 will go up a level during this kingdom phase.

http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....gn_systems:entourage

Under the Entourage rules you are allowed to have [(1/2 your level)+(Cha bonus)] Entourage Assistants at any time - and they go up as you level -  however, they are restricted to half your level and will 'top out' at level 5.

Entourage Assistants are very minor characters intended to help you out  by running businesses, running your home, or in any other small way.  They represent you getting a bit richer, more influential, more powerful etc ...

Re: OOC2

I know I keep asking this. Where is the thread for building costs and benefits? Have to plan for spending 3.5 bp (1.5 bp going out as debt for initial investment). I am thinking a Sword School in Tusk, and added fishing boats in Tusk and Ringbridge, setting up building a Town Base in Ringbridge next turn. Will also need to get another entourage to run businesses in Ringbridge. Victoria or Percy to run Merchant house in Tusk, Robert to run Sword School.
Max # Entourage = 5/2 + 2 = 4 Entourage/followers.

Re: OOC2

All the kingdom rules are  linked from this page ... http://rp.baileymail.netdoku.p...mpaign_systems:start ... You can find it in the Game Links section at the top of the page.

From what I recall, Percy is quite happily ensconced in the V&A Merchant House in Tusk, and  looking after that part of the business on your behalf.  Vik also has a long-standing Entourage-Assistant, called Lolli.  Lolli has previously served as squire, assistant and helped run the business in Tusk.  She  is now probably doing service as a Lady's Maid / Companion.

I think you might have to slow your plans slightly  :) a Sword School alone costs 3 bp - and that is before you have negotiated with the Town Council.

Re: OOC2

I should also point out that the Kingdom Building and Entourage sections are not a compulsory part of the game.  If you don't want to get involved in those parts of the game, you don't have to.

Nor are Entourage-Assistants compulsory for running businesses - each business comes with  all the staff they  needs.  The Entourage-Assistants are there to give you more RP options - If you want them :)

The only downside to not joining in with those parts of the game, is that Kingdom Rounds might be a bit quiet - although there uis generally plenty of opportunity to get involved in some of the social RP that goes on.

Well, I have 5 bp this round. 1.5 is going to pay off an investment,  3 for a Sword School, and 0.5 for either negotiations or banking.

DM, are you still working on updating BPs in the player information thread? If so, no rush. If not, I can't see the ones for Cass.

Oh, and anyone is welcome to attend the Tusk Town Development Group thread. It is like an open town meeting.

You may invest a BP into a property of your own, loan it to a township to be repaid later, invest it  with an individual to be repaid in kind later, or hold onto them until you are ready to use them during a kingdom build phase.

Fixed.  I had the private set wrong  :(

Cass Mordane:
You may invest a BP into a property of your own, loan it to a township to be repaid later, invest it  with an individual to be repaid in kind later, or hold onto them until you are ready to use them during a kingdom build phase.

Some individuals might also be interested in borrowing BP from you -  however, if you lend to an individual or Town, you might want to ask about Interest rates  :)

If you don't want the hassle at the moment, you can defer your BP to Henry - and he will use them to help fund Community Development -  while  he is looking after them.  You can always claim them back when you are ready -  BUT there is no interest paid :)

Some of the most successful enterprises come about when characters have found common  purpose and pooled their resources towards a common aim.  RRingbridge (Cyrus and Val), V&A Shipping (Adoven and Vik) even Iomedae's house in Tusk (Mariam and Borric).  It needs a bit of work when it comes to splitting profits -  but it does help  an enterprise grow faster.  Especially if it is a means towards an end.

You can   use your BPs  to start building a noble estate, a town, a business, a cathedral, a university or many other things. Although you have to start small and work up ....

PM me for advice if you want to.

One- Is Ringbridge large enough at this point to support a Town Base?
Two- I do no recall seeing costs or requirements for Shipyards. Where can I find those?

Yes.  It might be a one horse town - but it is still a town :)

Under manufacturing :)

But check out the differences between the Boat yard and the Large Boat yard :)
