Re: OOC2

Wow, what a challenge! That little lobstrosity almost had the whole party befuddled for a bit. Now Cass is all focused on what a little ingenuity can do. He will be paying a visit to the local blacksmith to work on a few ideas once he gets back from the field. Might have to sell a few sword lessons and sing a few songs to pay for his ideas.

Re: OOC2

*grin*  Thank you.  I'll take that as a compliment  :)

Intelligent monsters are always fun (for the DM) -  but be warned, there are a few more intelligent monsters to come.   You guys will have to think creatively and act as a team  :)

Re: OOC2

Huh, this should be interesting- Owlcat Games has announced they're doing a second Pathfinder game.  They're converting the Wrath of the Righteous AP much like they did Kingmaker.

Re: OOC2

Unless Cass were to roll a crit, I doubt he will be savvy enough to harvest components. And that 24 hour time limit is tough for this situation. But thanks for the info, it might come in handy later:

It's got my interest. I wonder if they'll do more classes/archetypes?

Oh, same sad tale here ... I've still got NWN II, M&M X and Skyrim sitting reproachfully on the bookcase, never even installed.  :~<

Re: OOC2

I have a suit similar  to the one Cass is wearing,  in my 'costume' wardrobe.  However, mine is black with silver piping.  It used to fit me, a few stones ago .....

When I was a young man, I brought the material to have a suit like that made in dusky pink, with a pearly grey lining - but never quite got around to getting it made  :(

Re: OOC2

:)

For my newest re-enactment role, it needs to be something like  the rebels on this page.  I am now too old and fat for the army -  so I need to find pictures of non-noble civilian clothing -  and in most areas that is surprisingly difficult.

Re: OOC2

An  update on the Campaign Rules and Kingdom Rounds

After a lot of procrastinating, I have been working on the Campaign Rules again  :)  While it doesn't seem like it sometimes, my semi-retired working life is becoming a bit more straightforward.  I have a better idea of what I am doing and have got over the 'How the hell do I do this new job' hump.  Ironically, I think, playing around with the newer versions of NWN and AOE, has helped.  So what this means for you guys ...

  1. I have decided to nerf Poisons.  There will be a house rule that effectively says no secondary effects, and reduces them all to one saving throw.  That was probably one of the most difficult decisions I have made, and was one of the issues that was responsible for my procrastinating.  If that screws up a character build you have been working towards -  I will let you retrain.  For the reasons behind that decision read this blog Post.  http://galinia.org.uk/poisons

  2. I intend to move to a single 'Campaign Round' per in-game year and roll everything campaign related into that round.   This isn't a biggie -  it just means entourage-assistants will now level-up (if they are eligible) during the campaign round rather than when your character levels up.  And that all of your characters will age one year every time we have a Campaign Round.

  3. I will run Campaign Rounds as Fuzzy Threads, so that we don't interrupt adventuring.  Stopping everything has worked OK, so far, but it is getting more and more difficult to keep everyone in Sync - and it is going to get worse.  We already have  'Fuzzy Time' - so we might as well use it.

  4. I hope to use the quiet Xmas period to finish adding the Down-Time  section and the Value of XP sections to the wiki - and then run a Campaign Round after Christmas.

  5. After that, I will try to run Fuzzy RP threads between the Campaign Rounds, so that your characters can be a bit more active.

Re: OOC2

Non-noble civilian clothing ... oh, so less Sealed Knot and more Frayed Knot then ?  <grrins>

Don't worry - it's not the years, it's the mileage !  ;>

Just a thought ... probably a century or so too late (give or take), but there's probably a fair number of images on the web from the Poldark TV Series, which might give you some inspiration for attire.

I'll look at it, when I get round to actually writing the rules etc up.  :)

Oh, campaign rounds are going to be cheaper? Cool. Those BPs are hard to come by.

Really though, how much time has passed since the first venture to take these lands?

That is a really good question and I am working on it  :P

I think it will be three years, by the time I get it all worked out.  That feels about right for a fast growing 'boom' town.

You can see my ides on down time starting to take shape here.

http://rp.baileymail.net/doku....2:down_time#crafting

These are based on the discussion we had some time ago.  I need to check the time  available again ....  I think that was set at three rounds per calendar year - rather than one round.
