"I will stand second, then," Edrik said as he motioned toward the staircase, "I wouldn't want to deprive Bjorn of the glory." That, and the house was beginning to truly get to him. He knew how to fight men, but what use was a sword when faced with ghosts, odd creaking and a power that flung people around like dolls?

Valla rose to her feet, the fae apparition still surrounding her menacingly, and she stepped into place behind Edrik. "Let's get to it then. No sense keeping some demonic entity waiting. They hate that."

The party climbs the red marble staircase to it's full height to arrive to a dusty balcony with a suit of black plate armor standing against the furthest wall. It's pieces are covered with dust and cobwebs.

Oil lamps are mounted on the old oak paneled walls, which are carved with woodland scenes of tress, falling leaves, and tiny critters. The floor itself groans as you walk on it's floorboards. A distinct, unnatural contrast, between the first floors you have visited and this stage. It's almost like this isn't the same house. The drapes and wallpaper you see are old and faded.

A single door lies a 10 feet west from the top of the staircase, and a small 10 foot corridor lies east holding a set of double doors, and a single door to it's front. Another single door lies  north, right next to the suit of armor.

As Bjorn enters the room looking for ghosts and demons, he walks past the suit of armor, which starts creaking, and moving, coming to life!

Roll initiative!
The room is 10ft by 30ft, and small 10ft corridor to the east.
Inscribe your actions. I'll use average initiative to see if the armor moves first.

As the group reached the top of the stairs, Valla kept her eye out for anything small that could creep like a child. An Imp or faerie dragon perhaps. She did not expect the heavy plate to suddenly become animate.

Edrik's eyes wandered cautiously across the room the group had entered, passing easily across the suit of armor -- dismissing it as a threat. Right up until it suddenly rattled to life before his eyes. Swallowing fear, he brought his shield up and closed with the creature, stabbing out toward it, around the shield's edge.

The animated armor creaks as it comes to life, ready to slaughter all who come before it. The party was agitated enough, and on guard, throughout the whole house, that everyone was eager to take up arms against anything.

Bjorn, muscles pumping, ready for action, unsheathes his large maul and swings at the creature, and misses it's target as it avoids the attack altogether, only slightly nicking it's shell. He leaves himself open for an attack, and the magical construct bashes the barbarian straight in the chest. Bjorn coughs up, clearing his breath from the hard slam.

Edrik marches forth, sword and shield in hand, and bashes at the armor, only to find it harder that it looked, his sword resonating in his hand. As Edrik swings, the armor tries to maul the noble knight, only to find the warriors shield in it's path.

Valla curses in a strange language, and brings forth some strange light, and blasts it at the armor, obviously shaken by it's raw force and energy.

As the armor is stunned, both Khelsear and Jihe take out their bows and shoot at the armor. Their arrows hit their mark, jamming in between one of it's arm and leg pieces. The construct seems ill positioned, as it creaks more loudly than before. It's arms are raised, and are ready to swing once again, even though it looks a bit wobbly.

Bjorn takes 5 bludgeoning damage from the construct.
The construct does not move. Since it's on the wall, I'm not granting any flanking/advantage on the first round of attacks. Bjorn attacked straight on, foregoing tactical positioning.

It missed it's attack on Edrik. Edrik and Bjorn missed. All of the ranged attacks hit.

Edrik grunted as he felt the shock reverberate up his arm, blade deflecting off the construct's shoulder, and he only just managed to bring his shield up in time to catch the oncoming blow -- which still forced him to stumble back a step in order to avoid having his feet slip out from under him. Recovering his footing, Edrik took another step forward and swung low rather than high, hoping that the creature's legplates proved thinner than those found on its arm.

Summary: Natural 20 on basic melee, 15 damage. Also I can't spell critical apparently.

Bjorn roars loudly and brings his maul down with a force, nothing to do with his first attack, probably just warming up. He smashes an arm off the construct, as it falls to the ground.

Edrik, feeling ashamed that he so closely missed his adversary in close combat, remembers a quick footing exercise he used to practice as he squired. Applied in full force, he gives a quick nudge with his shield, and swings low towards the constructs legs, and rips the armor to pieces.

The constructs, deconstructs, and falls to pieces on the floor, resonating, clouds of dusts emanating from it's corpse, or rather it's remains.

Edrik's eyes traced along the walls for signs of additional constructs before he let his sword lower, carefully sheathing it a few moments later. He flexed his hand a few times to try to return feeling to his fingers -- he might have experienced more success with his second strike, but the shock from his first blow still had his arm tingling. "Anyone hurt?" he asked, turning his attention toward Bjorn. He had seen the larger man get battered out of the corner of his eye.

As you look around the walls, you notice something quite sinister. The carved woodland scenes of lovable critters and falling leaves, actually, resemble more like hanged noose skeletons. The bottom of the tree carvings also hides something that looks like worms, bursting from the ground.

As you peek inside the corridor, you notice nothing quite out of the ordinary, besides a door leading west and a set of double doors leading east. Cobwebs and dust surround everything, even your steps leave markings on the creaking wood floors.

You don't hear any noises, besides creepy creaking, every now and then.

Dust and cobwebs surround shroud this elegantly appointed bedroom. Double doors set with panes of stained glass pull open to reveal a balcony overlooking the front of the building. A thick mist blocks your view of the town. The buildings look like small, gray, tombstones, through the fog.

The bedroom contains a large bed, two end tables, and an empty wardrobe. Mounted on the wall is a full length mirror with an ornate wooden frame carved to look like ivy and berries.

You open a second door, leading to a nursery.  It's crib is covered with a hanging black shroud. As you start to investigate, a cold draft can be felt from the bed, and a loud shriek breaks the silence. As you turn around, a thin, terrified looking young woman appears over the bed. She is oddly transparent. She screams loudly and approaches to attack!

Valla, ready to act as soon as the wailing can be heard, summons forth her inner magicks, and unleashes a bolt of energy upon the specter, which screams even more loudly as it seems to feel pain.

Jihe, not sure if her bow and arrows would harm an undead apparition, draws, cocks, and let's go an arrow at the creature. Sure enough, an experimented ranger would know exactly where to shoot, as the bow goes through the apparition, but leaves a visible mark. The specter wails!

The undead glides towards Jihe, and raises her hands, as if wanting to give out a hug. The specter seems to absorb Jihe's energy, as she crashes to the floor, unconscious.

Bjorn, in a fit of rage, slams the creature with his great hammer, and surprisingly seems to hit something. The creature does not seem pleased. At all.

Edrik enters the room and does a quick footing move and attacks the specter as it's indulging in Jihe's energy. A few quick slices through the apparation leaves clear markings.

As the specter seems to have difficulty keeping it's form in this realm, Khelsear sweeps in and shoot a few arrows through the apparation, only to have them knock on the wall, as it's shape fades into nothingness. Strange, anyone whom would look at the specter's face would somehow see some form of relief, as it's disappears.
