RULES

Hello and welcome to Borderlands: Treasures of Pandora! Before beginning the game, there is a short list of rules that I recommend potential players familiarise themselves with. This way, everyone should know the limits of the game allowing everyone to have fun.

1. This is a mature game, so please refrain from adult content.

2. No metagaming or powergaming.

3. Activity is key. Once a week is sufficient, but higher posting rates mean faster progress.

4. Have fun!

This list is obviously kept quite short and it is highly likely players will have questions about things that the rules can't help with. In instances where this occurs, simply PM the GM and your queries will be seen to.

TIPS

It isn't compulsory to have played any of the Borderlands games, but it would help to be familiar with Pandora as a setting. The game is set just after the conclusion of Borderlands 2, so all the main games and their events precede the events of Treasures of Pandora.

POSTING GUIDE

When posting in-character, here are some handy tips to keep everything consistent.

- Mark all dialogue with coloured text (excluding orange). (Example: "Hello, John")
- Mark any OOC remarks with orange text. (Example: Can the GM check this please?)
- When transferring threads be sure to include this at the bottom or top of the respective post. (Example: ---> From Moxxi's Bar)

Also, if you are unsure of a certain action, or your action may require you to collaborate with a fellow player, be sure to send a PM to the respective person(s) and discuss things amongst yourselves.

THE "LAST MAN" RULE

In the event the group is waiting for one person to post, they will be given 24 hours from the 2nd last person posting before assuming their action for that turn. Assumed actions will be relatively sedate and will aim not to jeopardise your character or the rest of the group.

ROLLS

When attempting certain actions that require a certain touch of skill or when in combat, rolls are required. The game will work using D20 where 1 is a critical fail and 20 is a critical success as standard. Values from rolls can be boosted by having certain talents (or decreased by lacking them in some cases).

Example of combat:

Claptrap surrounded by Bullymongs grabs a nearby shotgun and fires wildly into the pack.

19:00, Today: GM, for the NPC Claptrap, rolled 6 using 1d20.

Response:

Claptrap's shells graze a few of the Bullymongs, killing one of the pups and even scaring off some of the weaker beasts. However the advances of the other Bullymongs force Claptrap to scoot off quickly, throwing the shotgun behind him as he retreats.

ABILITIES

Your ability is unique to you, so there are no rules as to what it can and can't be. However, I ask that you make sure that it is not liable to be seen as cheating or powergaming in posts. When it comes to refresh rates, your abilities recharge once per encounter. There may be exceptions to this, such as two encounters back-to-back but unless I say otherwise, assume that your ability is recharged at the start of a new encounter.
