Nino smiled as the wolf let him pet it. When Scar went to the entrance of the cave to lie down, Nino followed and pulled out some beef jerky. He chewed on a hunk with lip smacking noises and offers a hunk to the wolf.

Good. Yum.

The wolf sniffed the jerky abd wrinkled his bose, lying down.

The wolf takes a big breath, almost line a sigh.

The wolf looked at kalia as she attended the bird, and snorted.

Jonathan's quill raced across the paper so fast one might fear it would burst into flame. He pauses to consider what he has heard of the dwarfs being discussed.

"I will say this once and only once-leave Scar alone." She looks over at Nino, letting him know she's serious and then goes back to the bird. She tilts her head and goes to pet it again, and if allow she sits down with it like a mother to a child. A glance from the druid to Scar, she furrows her brow not sure of something.

Rivka smiled at the druid.
"It's okay, Kalia.  Nino means no harm.  He's just being friendly.  Much like you are now."

"Jealousy does not become you Kalia, Nino is no threat to you."

"I am not jealous. If he touches or bothers Scar again, he was warned." A sigh comes from her and she gently puts the hawk into the backpack. She stands up and climbs onto Scar's back.The druid watches Scar."Nino is your responsibility. Scar is mine. And if someone bothers Scar, he bothers me." The woman grips the pendent and lays down on Scar. Her eyes dart over to Nino."Actually..." She sits up."Leave Scar alone. Talk to me."

Rivka sighed and started grooming her hawk while the scholars worked

"Bela." The druid looks down at the ranger and hawk."Call her Bela."

Quinn moves to the front of the party, detecting evil and undead intermittently as they move around the area of the alcoves.

"Are you talking about my hawk?  She already has a name.  Her name is Zephyr "

  Yacob looks at Quinn and starts to say something, but before he can Kalia says something about watching Nino. "Nino isn't a pet like your wolf. Or should I say companion. Nino survived a terrible accident and the gods chose to grant him his life in exchange for his mental capacity. Your wolf harms Nino and you and I will have words. You have pull with him and you can communicate the idea of friend to him. Nino means no harm and is only trying to be friendly in his own way. No disrespect meant but you have been warned." is what he does say probably with a little more venom than needed, but after all they are clan.

"Did you have something to say to me Yacob? I couldn't help but think you were about to say something."

  "This place is roughly the equal to taking a hammer thumping you in the head and meeting your god right after. Not that she is my God, but it is something close to that. She accomplished a lot while she was alive." he says shaking his head. "Of all the things in here we must recover the Blackguard itself. It alone is worth the payment you are being given and then some. There a few tales that inspire hope in a dwarf, but the Story of the Pheonix and the Blackguard is one such story."

Fed up with the group and the way she is being treated by Yacob as he does not understand, the druid nods her head to Rivka. She motions for Scar to move away from the group, lowering her hood."I bid you good day." It seems like the harsh words from the dwarf was enough. She doesn't reply as she feels it will be pointless. She does her best to get topside if possible, but glances at them for the final time before departing. Obviously she will not deal with being insulted.

Rivka rolled her eyes at the hypocritical druid, who was getting upset at others treating her the same way she was treating them, but she said nothing,  suspecting it would do no good to point that out

Zell thought it was strange the way Kalia was acting, especially after the party freed her from whatever that gem was doing. Nino is simple-minded, but given time, he would have learned that Kalia didn't want Nino to touch or bother the Wolf, Scar. Then she decides to leave and Zell just shakes his head.

"Yacob? You want me to escort her out? Make sure nothing can get back in?"

Nino looks confused. How would a wolf refuse beef jerky? And now the pretty lady is yelling at him and then leaves? Was Nino's beef jerky that bad? He smelled it again, shrugged his shoulders and tore off a hunk and enjoyed himself.

  "I doubt she knows the way out Quinn. She didn't seem to know where she was. As for escorting her out Zell that is your call, but I doubt anything is following us from outside of here." is all the dwarf says.

"T'would be a pity if something bad happened to Scar. She was just mean spirited, there was a darkness over her."

"I don't wish to leave my friends behind, so she's on her own." Zell replied "So, let's get back to these statues. Why are they here and what are they for? Want me to look for a secret passage around here?"

  "You can Zell if you want. I am unsure other than this might be a memoriam of sorts or a Record stone."

Not seeing the new comer as part of the group, the scholarly cleric notes what transpires in a third person narrative, then slips his journal away for later. So what do you think the message is Yacob?

  "Only a mage would get the message here. A dwarven mage gets the real message. It a lost treasure trove of magic and lore. No this is the find of a dozen dwarvish lifetimes. Items wonderous and profane lie below us. This is like walking into the City of Song at her height and no one is there to stop you from taking whatever you want. We need to secure The Blackguard if at all possible and I myself am more than willing to trade my life for it." excited isn't the word for it.
