Re: Into the depths

I'm not sure I feel right about plundering a dwarven treasure, finding it and checking it out sure but if all this stuff belonged to your people then shouldn't most of it stay with your people?

As far as finding this place goes Yacob, By the Gods man of course it's exciting, it's the find of a million life times. Farlaghn be praised, that I have been given the opportunity to be the one to chronicle the opening of these halls. My Instructors would die of envy, Its why I write out and draw as well as map every tiny aspect of what we find. I need to learn the tongue of your people as well to master the ancient ruins. The recording of this great place is my solemn duty.

"It was merely an example of the most magically advanced elven civilization I can remember at the moment I'm a bit overwhelmed. And I'm not saying we need to take everything. I intend to collect the relics of this place and gear we can use. The relics are for safekeeping and proof that we found this place. Past that is up to my uncle once we clear this place out. If we ever get the chance to retire I am retiring here to study this place well into my advanced years. I could spend the rest of my life studying here and I doubt I would scratch much past the surface."

Re: Into the depths

I'm going to agree with Yacob.  If there are things we can use we should take them to use them.  The dwarven relics, and I know of a few from vague comments by elven magic users and others I have met over the years, should be removed and guarded with care until we can present to Alstadin.  It will make the wonderous gift he's offered worth every moment here and there.

There's not much Zell could say to make matters better, so he stays silent. Finding treasures is one thing. Keeping them is another. He's still very concerned about how this place fell in the first place and why it hasn't been found until now. The ever vigilant Zell keeps an eye on everyone's back while they discuss the next move.

Re: Into the depths

With johnathan frantically scribing what Yacob translates and sketching the three statues likeness (with Yacob kneeling inspecting the female statue) the group takes in what the dwarf has said. Though all are astounded by the revelation, it is Yacob, who borders on giddy excitement, and nym whotruely grasp what has been found. Yacob's excitement at the find leads him to touch the plaque of the statue and the glyphs glow blue, with the light flowing into Yacob almost Like a snake.

Yacob's eyes glow blue and he grimaces for a few seconds

Within second the blue fades, and though breathing heavy, Yacob seems alright. The dwarf breathes, still kneeling at the statue when a click can be heard. The plaque, almost like a drawer, opens up with several medallions in it.

<OOC: Happy easter everyone.

As a gift for the time, there is a medallion in the drawer for each of you. Each medallion has one of the following powers on self for one use only (then the medallion crumbles to dust)

Bear’s Endurance (medallion of a bear standing up)
Bull’s Strength (medallion of a bull charging)
Cat’s Grace (medallion of a panther stalking)
Eagle’s Splendor (medallion of a eagle swooping)
Fox’s Cunning (medallion of a fox stalking)
Owl’s Wisdom (medallion of an owl in flight)

Next move decide wether your going to one of the three to te north, or the other southern passage>

Rivka was awed as well, and gladly took a medallion of cat's grace.  Even a one time magic was still a great gift.

She looked at the others

Nino sees a medallion of a Bear and grabs that one, holding it up with a smile on his face. He starts growling like one as he stands next to Jonathan and places the item over his dirty head. He points to the bear,

Bear.

Zell picked up the medallion of a panther stalking and put it in his pocket for safe keeping. He didn't have a clue as to which passage to take, so he left that up to the Boss.

Yacob, you can have the last one.  I'm fine without having one.

Nym smiles as he sees the others take the medallions they want.  Making sure to cover their backs as Zell takes his.

Re: Into the depths

As the light washes over him he groans. A moment later he stands and shakes himself. When Nym mentions the medallions he looks at them and says "Anthel gave me a gift already friend. So no you take the medallion. There is much magic still in this place. I fear for what is to come. As for which way to go crowns and axes worked well for us so far."

The Miribarian Crown flies into the air. He catches it and flips it. This time it shows a crowned dwarf. "South it is. Seems lucky to me."

Re: Into the depths

With several medallions left in the statue, Yacob closes the drawer with a silent click, and looking at it, you would never know it was there. Yacob, a little uneasy stands, and walking with Nino, side by side, talking about the dwarves new medallion, make their way back to the main chamber with little incident. The group having decided to continue the lower caverns, turned the corner and walked south into a smaller cavern, with one path leading to the west at the beginning of the cavern, the other a southern cave at the southern end.
