"Should we all go investigate? Or do we bypass it for now and come back to it later?" Quinn asks the group.

Re: Into the depths

Nino stopped playing with his new toy when Zell and the pretty girl came back and told everyone what was down the passage. Nino didn't understand the conversation.

"You two saw it. Do you think it needs doing now or can it wait? As for what that could be I have no clue. I'm an expert on arcane matters not fungi. Now if it was a spell reactive fungi that might be within my knowledge, but I couldn't begin to tell you. For all I know it is a monster waiting for some dumb adventurous type to try and grab something and oh there is a free lunch for it."

Re: Into the depths

"I assume that means we'll check it out later then? Shall we move on down the next tunnel then?" Quinn says as he detects evil and undead quickly in the direction of the underground water, knowing that anything in there would most likely be too far away for him to detect unless it had feet and followed Rivka and Zell.

"As I just showed we all have gaps in our knowledge, but that is why we have friends. To help cover other areas we can't know. That being said never beat yourself up unless people die. Nothing can help that level of unknown. Zell investigate or move on? Rivka's odd feeling makes me want to check it out, but I would check out a broom closet in here if someone had an odd feeling right now."

"Let's come back to it. The area appeared really large." Zell replied "I saw something metal in there, but it looks like the fungus is slowly covering it up. Is there fungus plants that eat people?"

Re: Into the depths

With zell deciding the cavern to the west can wait, the group decides to explore south before going towards the water sound.with rivka again taking the lead and zell behind, they travel south and come to a fork, one left one right. Rivka goes right and finds a cave that holds the bones of rats and other small animals, as well as a small humanoid....all long dead. Turning around, the group go back down the right cave.

A little longer, it finishes in a valve with a few stalagtights and stalagmites, plus two stone columns. In the centre of the cave, an old chest, reasonably large, sits....unopened and a little dusty

<OOC: only thing of interest in the cave is a large chest, roughly 5 foot long, 5 foot wide and 4 foot high. Though it appears to be made of a dark wood and metal, it looks in pretty good condition.

Anyone inspecting the chest make a spot check an dlet me know what you do (avoid the chest, touch it, open it, etc).>

"Rivka, don't get too close. A chest surviving intact for this long down here seems very suspicious to me." Zell said as he crouched down to look at the ground and surrounding area "Something deposited those bones over in the other area."

08:56, Today: Zell rolled 18 using 1d20+12.  Spot check.

Nym looks at the chest from a short distance, but not seeing anything unusual to him he resumes watching the backs of his friends as they investigate the chest.

Re: Into the depths

Nino didn't understand how a chest couldn't be a chest. He just knows that it holds stuff, but when the pretty girl shot an arrow at it, Nino found a rock and threw it at the chest, while standing next to Bob Bob.

Re: Into the depths

The human, in the dim lantern light, shrugs, and takes an arrow out, knocking it. Taking a slow breath, the woman fires, he arrow ricocheting off a metal band and clattering on the stone floor. Nino, not fully aware of what was happening, picked up a rock and threw it at the chest, the rock bouncing before hitting the chest and bouncing harmlessly away. Nino turns and smiles at rivka

But her eyes are intent on the chest with a perplexed look.

"What else could it be? I just find it highly suspicious that something like this has survived all this time here. And why put a chest in the middle of the cave like this? If there was anything of value in chests, I'm sure the Dwarves would have put the chests behind locked doors or a vault or something."

"Who says it isn't in a vault?" the mage says. He walks closer to the chest and chants "Oiay I-ay ave-hay isvings-may out-abay is-thay est-chay" and the spell is cast to you all nothing seems to happen....and then the dwarf leans his head to the right and the left and looks at Nym and back to the chest.
