Zell was a bit baffled at what kind of stone he was looking at. He had the funniest feeling that it might be a petrified heart of something and didn't want to touch it now. Turning to Jonathan,

"I have a bag and this cloak as well..."

Nym points to the dragon scale armor and makes sure that Nino gets a good look at it.

Nym forces himself to speak slowly and clearly so that Nino will hopefully understand that I'm trying to help him lookout for himself.

So it's decided we'll find out what all this stuff does grab some reading material and head out to Waterdeep,so lets get started. Having said what he had to say Jonathan put the moderate magic ring. the small jasper spider, and one of the necklaces in the pile to be identified.

"Supposedly anything can be bought or found in Waterdeep. Never had the need to find out if it was true." the dwarf comments as he takes the wand and goes to work identifying as many objects as fast as he can. For while some might be of the opinion that they were safe he was not one of them.

Sonori holds out the ring she took to be identified.

She is confident enough that the backpack is of extra storage - the main thing that backpacks and sacks are - that she doesn't bother holding it out for identification, given that Yacob and others are so very eager to go.

Re: Into the depths

OOC:  Apologies for being awol, details unimportant.  Here's a quick catch-up thread.

The young bard was overwhelmed with the splendor and beauty of the keep as the smaller group found themselves in the presence of the lead group.  His eyes teared up as he thought of his parents in far away Berdusk and how their love of reading and learning had led him to this moment in time.  As the others around him examine the myriad of items, their words were no more than the background chirping of crickets to Turbalio as he allowed himself to be completely immersed in the sheer wonder of this place.

Sonori:
she hands them to Turbalio, trusting him to fill them all in rather than losing her concentration on the magical detection as she continues scanning.

Taking Jonathon's journal and notes from Sonori, he began to hum as he felt the inspiration of music coming to him.  He absentmindedly placed what the gnome gave him into his backpack for review later.  Turbalio unhooked the concertina from his hip and began to play a tune for a moment or two.  Once he had the melody down, the bard began to sing.

Listen to the stones a-speaking,
Watch as the ground is seeking,
Resolutely and ever seeking,
To the very center of the world.
There where evil's roiling,
See dwarven spirit boiling,
Mighty as the whole of the underworld.

Overpowering in their beauty,
Thinking not of death but duty,
Under the hills and mountains long may they rule.
Homestead their clan has tended,
Long have they all defended,
Mine and cavern oh so splendid,
Such a dwarven jewel!

N'er yielding to orc nor goblin,
Too hard to tire or soften,
Fighting wickedness to the bitter end.
Learn from their perseverance,
Awe at their hardy steadfastness,
And marvel at the kindness of a solid friend.

Overpowering in their beauty,
Thinking not of death but duty,
Under the hills and mountains long may they rule.
Homestead my clan has tended,
Long have we all defended,
Mine and cavern oh so splendid,
Such a dwarven jewel!

He paid no attention to the bevy of apparently magical items scattered about as he followed the others into what appeared to be a library.

OOC:  Apologies to Cliff Hanley for butchering the lyrics to Scotland the Brave.

Zell was immediately jealous. He never really had the "gift" to be able to sing in front of a crowd like...he didn't even remember this man's name. And then Zell saw that Rivka was smiling and that put him further into a sour mood as he mumbled to himself...

"Stupid !@#$ ghost. Just my @#$% luck everyone saw that."

Seeing him leave without even grabbing anything, she grabbed the pearl and diamond and pressed them in his hand. "Take something - if nothing else, these."

Nino enjoyed the song and was distracted again from the armor as he danced around. After the song was over though, he looked around and seemed to be a bit disoriented, as if he was looking for his table and his drink.

Kell says "I guess a little fall didn't dampen your enthusiasm, lad. Well sung." He nods to Sonori, indicating that they should peruse the library for crafting and history books, something they can occupy themselves with while the serious magic analysts determine the class and strength of the enchantments of their new tools.

Re: Into the depths

Turbalio smiled broadly when he finished singing, looked over at Breslin and winked.

He shook his head slightly from side to side at Sonori's offer of precious jewels and said quietly to the cleric, "Many thanks, my friend, but the treasure I seek is knowledge.  I have not come down off the stage and away from the crowds to take from such a noble people."  He sighed and returned the instrument to its place on his belt.

To the others gathered, the bard said, "Your forgiveness I beg, friends, for not properly introducing myself.  I found myself overcome by the sheer magnificence of this place.  When the essence of song fills my soul, it is nigh impossible to resist.  I am Turbalio of Berdusk," he bowed at the waist with a broad wave.

Having made his name known to the veterans of the lead group, he turned to the nearest bookcase and began perusing the titles.

Re: Into the depths

Sonori found it odd that Turbalio didn't want anything, as it should help them in their quest and it wasn't like it was taking it from other people who could use it right now. But it was his decision to make, not hers, so she simply nodded to him with a smile.

She hesitated for a moment. She had seen how Nym had been trying to convince the big dwarf Nino to take something, but so far he hadn't taken anything, at least that Sonori had seen. She decided to give it a try to, approaching him and saying clearly and slowly in Dwarven while holding out her hand with the pearl and diamond, [Language unknown: "Enweli. Pa li Wibele, n urenotour. I nale th he artwer-comsta comthiand? Itniac hisel ortwilwer weroertin, iolame, anar, dinek, mine earshethi weio ul isate ruteenlar ugh thie." ] She didn't seem particularly offset by his odor or messy style. He smelled better than wet hybsil, at least.

She saw Kell nod at her, but wasn't quite certain what he intended. Based on the conversation, she had to assume it was about learning Dwarven and/or books. "I'd be happy to help teach you Dwarven - or any of the other languages I know - and read the books you pick when we rest, Kell," she offered. But she didn't move from where she was, at least not yet, remaining with her hand out by Nino to see if he would chose something.
