Re: Into the depths
Now that she had detected magic and selected items she probably wanted - although if they identified them perhaps she would change her mind - now looked at the papers Jonathan had given her, reading the illusion that touching the stone had caused. For the good of her group, she read it off, "The illusion said:
"If ye are seeing this, then i have failed. Th' Mistress has most likely taken th' keep. That means I am most likely gone. If ye be dwarf, then know that i am sorry. It falls to ye to guard th' stone. Either way, if ye got this far, then ye be worthy of our trust an' respect. Th' stone we found 100 years ago in the den o' a beast...we took it back, as I knew it was unusual. Th' stone is magic....no doubt to any who made it here, but it is so much more that we thought. Th' stone is a part o' something bigger, something' powerful. It needs protectin....protectin' from her." Then it showed seven other stones and continued, "I don't know much, but what i do is in a book, in my study here. find th' book on th' third floor. it will guide you. Find th' old one.....Zarmatan. he knows what ye face, he can guide ye. If ye not know how to find him, seek the lady of Waterdeep....she will know how to find him. I know my husband is gone...he fought how he lived, protectin' our clan. If ye find me daughter, tell her i loved her 'til th' end. Protect it, and use what ye need here to keep it and yerself safe. Your th' guardians of th' earth now. she will come fer it, and you have not faced th' likes of her. Keep it safe. Fer what it's worth, I'm sorry.""
Sonori paused, carefully handing the paper back to Jonathan. "Thank you." She looked at Yacob, "So you went to get the book. And you found it. And you want to go find the Lady of Waterdeep. Do we know who that is?" She wondered if it was better to explore here for a bit more first. "If it showed all the stones, that would suggest that they might have found all of them, or at least more of them. Would it make sense to try to find any of the other stones first?" She was always willing to travel, but it seemed like there was so much more here to explore - and possibly that could be just as helpful - or perhaps need as much protecting. It didn't hurt, anyway, to ask the question, she figured.
When Zell piped up about wanting to see the stone, she looked over, curious. "It would be good to see it to help us recognize if we come across another."
OoC: Jonathan said that he copied the message verbatim, so just making sure that all the newly joined characters know it in character. Thanks, Jonathan!
