Re: In search of an immortal

The pale-skinned elf looked after Sonory as she took off and fled the scene. Right when it was most important to stick together. She clutched the bag of holding with the supplies for Heartsglade and her master, wondering what she should do. Neliwen was aware of the magics she had prepared, certain she could escape if the battle turned against them. But if she left now, the chances for the other traveling companions of hers would be even worse. For the fraction of a second she wondered if the gnome could have bothered to put the silence spell on the enemy general, impeding her ability to give orders, but the thought was moot and she abandoned it immediately.

Feeling insecure of what to do, the sun elf looked at the others, to see if they were going to fight or flee...

Nym looks around to see where he could best cast his sleep spells to take out as many of the enemy as possible as quickly as possible to buy them some time should it come to a fight.  Silently hoping that someone had a good illusion spell to confuse the hoard of creatures.

His humming growing louder.

Re: In search of an immortal

With the group defiant, standing their ground to the woman, she simply smiles as many of the monsters behind her, licking their lips in anticipation. The drow at her side made no move, just arms crossed, looking bored. With the woman diving in, she seemed surprised, but looked at the rest

Some goblins and orc took some steps forward, but the woman held an arm up, stopping them "NO! I will deal with them....stay out of this or you will face me." The hoard seemed taken aback by this, but the drow spoke. "At least let me chase down the runner....it will be good exercise for me." The woman glared at the drow, who had a look of disappointment. "Fine....but make it quick. I'm bored"

With her sword in hand, she stepped forward. "I have to admit, your loyal to each other and brave....stupid, but brave. The little one had it right, but her resistance will cost her friends pain and death....something she will need to live with. And in the end, we will find her and the stone - either me or my sisters. Now, Who will step forward first?"

<OOC: The hoard is staying put but the woman is walking forward on her own and is within 30 feet, waiting  for anyone to advance. One of you, all of you....up to you.

Yacob turns his back to the army. "Follow Sonori. I will catch up. Keep Kell safe." he says as he turns his back to the Commander. "So it's to be mano a mano is it. A few things though. You should be worried and your Mistress should be praying to Tiamat for aid. And yes the one even she fears is near. Zarmantan is coming and there is nothing you can do to stop him from winning." he raises his alder wand and a web spell goes flying out as he takes to the air.

Sonori hears a splash - someone is joining her. Can someone in the hoard breath water? It's not impossible. She doesn't look back - at least not yet. She can't imagine that at least some of them hoard are not after her, and even if somehow they aren't, there are enough of them, someone will be able to catch her by running along if she came up.

She hopes the others are making good of her distraction.

Zell kept an eye on the Drow. He didn't catch if it was a male or female, but if it went after Sonori, Zell was confident that he could run faster than it to make sure the rendezvous didn't happen.

Re: In search of an immortal

With Sonori and Kell in the water, the others were determined to face the woman. Yacobb muttered a spell, floating into the air and using a wand, sending webbing towards the woman. The drow smiled and incanted, the web disappearing as it landed. He looked at Yacob with a glint in his eye. "Play nice...i'd hate to have to upset the commander and join in."

With most at the ready, it was only Nino who stepped forward, the gauntlet sprouting the two handed axe, it's edge gleaming with a rust brown color.

She smiled as they faced off against each other, the woman swinging her sword in practice.

Re: In search of an immortal

With the web dispelled by the drow, the group move almost as one. Rivka, aiming at one of the giants, fired two arrows, burying deep into it's shoulder and chest, causing it to howl with rage. Nym, holding a more offensive wand, fired a lightning bolt, causing the woman to moan in pain, gritting her teeth. As that happened, Nino stalked forward, his axe magically appearing.

The Dwarf swung at the woman, cutting her side deeply, but she stood back, swinging the sword faster than one of it's size would be. The cut hit Nino, sending him flying back, looking at his chest at his blood.<Nino Takes 20 damage>

She glares at Nym as she squares off against the dwarf. "You want to fight me pointy ears, stop being a coward and hiding behind magic...step up with the dwarf. At least he has the courage to die like a real warrior!"

Before anything can happen, there is a bright flash, sending the woman and nino back to their groups. When the light cleared, a human man stood there. The human looked in his early 60's, with black hair and small beard. His eyes were black as coal as he smiled at the group. "Let me take care of this."

The woman stood up and looked at the man, truly angry now, her hands shaking, but when she realised who she was facing, her eyes went wide with hesitation and fear.

"YOU!"

The man stood there, arms crossed. "Yes, me....I know. Your going to kill me, offer my head to your mother, blah, blah." The woman gripped her sword tighter, and he held his finger up. "Careful girlie...your queen has faced me and she went crawling back to her hole....you want to try?"

The woman snorted, her army behind shifting restlessly, awaiting her order.

"Fall back" She said between gritted teeth. The drow went to say something, but she spun around. "I SAID, FALL BACK!" The army cringed at her yell, as slowly, with grumbles, stared going back the way they came. She turned and looked at the group. "This isn't over....the next time we meet you will die by my blade."

She turned and walked off, speaking to the drow who looked like he was arguing the fact.

As the army disappeared, the group caught their breath, panting. Only when the clearing was clear, did the man spin around slowly, a tired look on his face. "As stubborn as the wyrm." He muttered. He looked at everyone with a slight smile. "Well, your a hard group to keep up with...your either running ahead or slow as a snail. But, i've found you."

He crossed his arms and looked at them all.

"I'm Zarmatan. Welcome to the borders of Elventree"
