Re: OOC

This is why you should roll the damage die twice, not double the roll...

Re: OOC

Not sure how the DM feels but I’m pretty sure RAW you have to roll all the dice. I don’t think you ever double a result.

Re: OOC

Yes, on a critical hit you roll an additional damage die.

Thanks.

Rissa, did you mean to heal me (Lathan) or Lucien?

Karon you should still have advantage.

20:17, Today: Karon rolled 10 using 1d20+5 with rolls of 5.  Second attack roll due to advantage from the owl.

Wow. Not meant to hit.

Re: OOC

Yeah, but you hide all the mechanical stuff so you lose the right to complain about it :P

In reply to Rissa Twiceborn (msg # 792):

Not that I don't appreciate it.

We seem to have run across a spate of bad luck this round. Three missed attacks and two of them with advantage. Fortunately, Lathan appears to have us covered.

Phew!

Rissa, do you still want to heal me? I don't know how you are on spell slots. If you want to save a slot, I can cast Cure Wounds on myself.

Re: OOC

I am very unsure about why we are planning to dig here? Am I missing something? Other than the fact that the Zombies came from the ground? What are we looking for?

Re: OOC

From what we learned about the Gleaming Glade: Several of Parflray's companions were lost, swallowed up into a pit of inky tar, along with all of their equipment and loot, and the dying priest's final curse blighted the woodland for nearly a hundred years

Black moss makes me think this might be the remnants of the tar pit. It is also possible we will learn something at night when, presumably when the glade starts gleaming. So digging is a good way to pass the rest of the day.

Re: OOC

The moss is not black, but the ground is black and tarry, kind of like wet asphalt.

I mean, Karon is fine with digging if there is a point, so let's see if we discover something before nightfall.

Re: OOC

It seems digging was the right move here. Very interesting.

I guess we need to try to figure out what sort of enchantment is on the three items (or four, not sure if the scroll case has been preserved by magic or if the silver is black after being in the ground for a while.

I don't know how our DM wants to handle the identification process. I guess three characters could try to take a short rest bonding with the items, but that is risky since they might be cursed. The possibility of a curse is not something Karon would consider much, so he'd be willing to try to identify something, for example the sword.

Re: OOC

Volani does not detect magic on any of the items. They are all blackened and dirty from the soil but the items mentioned are still salvageable; all of the other weapons and armor found are broken and useless.

Re: OOC

Unless someone else needs a longsword, Karon is interested in keeping the blade. He likes to test new weapons and this one is unusual enough to pick up.
