Re: OOC

I am not sure what it takes to add spells to a spell book from a scroll, but is it safe to assume that we can do that here as part of resupplying?

Re: OOC

In reply to Terminax (msg # 829):

Copying Spells from a Spell Scroll into a Spellbook:
A Wizard spell on a spell scroll can be copied just as Spells in spellbooks can be copied. When a spell is copied from a spell scroll, the copier must succeed on an Intelligence (Arcana) check with a DC equal to 10 + the spell’s level. If the check succeeds, the spell is successfully copied. Whether the check succeeds or fails, the spell scroll is destroyed.

Re: OOC

Though, presumably, if you have someone else who has an Arcana skill or a suitable class ability, they could Help you and let your roll at Advantage to improve your chances.

On a different note, would anyone care to give me a brief rundown of events so I can get up to speed?  Or at least give me an idea of where the party is currently at, as I'm unfamiliar with the location and its context.

Re: OOC

Hello Gazira and welcome to the game!

The region is called Haranshire. It's a pretty out of the way area, but they've been having a rash of issues lately: bandits, orcs, and the like. There are two small towns both located on the river that runs through the region: Milborne and Thurmaster. They're several days apart though the journey goes more quickly if you take one of the barges that frequently travel back and forth between them. The local Lord is Count Palfrey. He has a keep near Thurmaster (we're currently on our way to see him).

Our party is returning from a journey to the Hardlow Woods where we were investigating a local legend about a place called the Gleaming Glade where Count Palfrey's ancestor defeated an evil priest a very long time ago. Before that, we had done a few jobs for the Count to take care of various issues in the area.

Re: OOC

Thanks, Lucien!

I will add that the party's exploits have started to earn them some positive attention in the region, so Gazira might have heard about them prior to meeting them.

Side note Gaz.

The DM updates your XP on your character sheet, so keep an eye on it to see when you level!

In that same vein, has anyone else made level 3 yet? Lathan's using colossus slayer so I know he got there.

Re: OOC

Lathan and Lucien are the only PCs at third level; everyone else is level 2. Also, when you do level up, I will send you a PM indicating such.

Still in the post-holiday recovery myself.  There's so much cleaning to be done.  T_T

I've spent too much of my vacation cleaning my future mother in law's house. I think it's worse when it isn't your mess.

Re: OOC

Okay. I think we're waiting for the group to meet Gazira. If that isn't going to happen in Thurmaster, I can move things along until the party arrives at Parlfray's Keep the next day, though it would make more sense for her to be in Thurmaster than at the keep.

Are you heading out for Parlfray Keep tonight? I thought the plan was to rest in Thurmaster and then travel to the keep the next morning.

Re: OOC

Assuming it's already late afternoon or evening I think we should stay in town. I think some people wanted to do shopping maybe?

On that note, do we want to do a quick accounting of what we collected on this latest trip?

We can probably just divide the 71 gold, but who has the Platinum choker and the emeralds? I believe Karon had the weapons and the shield, would anyone want those or should we just offload them? Lucien has the scroll case, which is itself made of silver, plus the three spells scolls (which he can't use) and the letter. I don't believe there was anything else we collected either from the Glade or the goblins was there?
