Re: OOC

Terminax would love to have someone teach him the ritual, buy whatever components he would need to copy it into his own book, and then use a familiar to reach the kid.

And that is to say - Yes to familiar. But while we're waiting for the kid, can someone spend time teaching him how to get a shiny magical pet for himself?

Rissa doesn't know how yet.

She just has a feeling about it.

Re: OOC

If we're going to use a familiar, we'll have to let Lucien or Volani post regarding that.

Re: OOC

Lucien will agree to teach Terminax the spell. Should we leave the keep? Lucien's familiar is currently an owl so I feel that he'll have better access from the outside. That might also be the subtlest way.

Re: OOC

It will take two hours and 50 gold pieces for Terminax to scribe the spell into his spellbook. Do you want to take the 50 gold pieces from the group fund?

And Lucien's familiar will have no difficulty locating Lyntern Parlfray's room.

Re: OOC

Terminax, you'll have to wait until you get back to Thurmaster to purchase the spell components from Tauster.

If you ask nicely, Lucien will give you enough to cast it once (leaves me with enough to cast it again if I need to).

Re: OOC

So, are we going to send a message to the count's son? If so, who wants to write it?

Re: OOC

I meant to throw up a post yesterday, sorry. I don't think Lucien should write it. Also, despite consistently buying more and more random stuff that I think might be useful, I somehow don't have anything to write with.

Re: OOC

Between the night and the next morning, Terminax could have done that ritual and got himself a bat familiar, right?

I'm wondering what to name it too.

On the one hand, I'm rather fond of the name Derek.

But Ubo sounds adorable and is the name of that owl from Clash of the Titans.

But Batty the Bat might be fun.

As would Bertram.

Or.... Bruce?

I'd say Ubo except that it's cute which seems out of character for Terminax.

Re: OOC

I have houseguests for the next two weeks. I don't know how much it will affect my ability to post, but I thought I would give you all a heads up in case I'm around less than normal.

And I'm really tired tonight and need to get caught up on some sleep, so, unfortunately, I won't be posting anything else today.

Greetings all.  I'll be joining you as the Half Elf Bardbarian.  Character sheet is about 95% done.  Then I'll take a peek at some of the threads just to get a taste of what's going on locally.

Re: OOC

Hey newcomer, I'll recycle the plot update I gave Gazira.

The region is called Haranshire. It's a pretty out of the way area, but they've been having a rash of issues lately: bandits, orcs, and the like. There are two small towns both located on the river that runs through the region: Milborne and Thurmaster. They're several days apart though the journey goes more quickly if you take one of the barges that frequently travel back and forth between them. The local Lord is Count Palfrey. He has a keep near Thurmaster (we're currently there and talking to his son).

Our party just returned from a journey to the Hardlow Woods where we were investigating a local legend about a place called the Gleaming Glade where Count Palfrey's ancestor defeated an evil priest a very long time ago. Before that, we had done a few jobs for the Count to take care of various issues in the area. Right now, we're laying out a plan to travel into the Thornwood to seek out Spire Keep. The place was mentioned on a scroll we found in the Gleaming Glade. We're hoping to uncover some information about the history of the area.
