Re: OOC

Thanks, Lucien!

Let me know if there is anything else you intend to do before you leave for the Thornwood.

Thurmaster is about 10 miles away from Parlfray's Keep, and then the Thornwood begins just on the other side of the Churnett River from Thurmaster.

At the request of our DM, here is a map of the area.

Re: OOC

I think we should buy the raft. We have enough money in the group fund, if I recall correctly.

Re: OOC

Question - if we're going to be boating down the river; is the boat large/suitable enough to carry my horse?  If not, how plausible would it be to ride the horse alongside the river keeping pace with the raft to our destination?

Re: OOC

The raft will not be suitable to carry the horse. Also, you're going into a dense forest and Gazira is the only one with a horse. I would recommend leaving it behind for this expedition.

Re: OOC

Are we going to come back to this area to make stabling the horse viable, or should it be sold?  Because I have 1 GP to my name and can't afford stabling fees.  Or would the folk the party has been reporting to be willing to care for the horse pro bono?

I'm fine with using party funds for that.

Re: OOC

Agreed on using party funds. Horse could be useful later.

EDIT:
Dungeon Master:
Barranas will sell Lucien a bottle of ink, a quill pen, and five pieces of paper for 14 gold pieces.

There's like, hyper inflation in this town. I'll pay it though.

Re: OOC

Yes, Barranas has cornered the market, having the only store in Thurmaster, so his prices tend to be rather inflated.

You'll have to pay in advance for the stabling. How long do you want to tell him you'll be gone?

I have no idea.  Gazira pretty much waited outside while everyone was attending to business, so... y'all tell me?

I'm not sure what is going on...

Is someone going to talk Three Elks into joining the party?

Re: OOC

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 921):

Sorry, I think I metagamed a circle around myself. Since Lucien is so suspicious, it doesn't make sense that he'd invite someone to join the group. So I phrased my response in a way that I hoped would be 'misinterpreted' as a challenge. I didn't mean to send Three Elks off towards town.

Re: OOC

Ha! I was wondering about what you were doing there. And Lathan isn't one to immediately trust a stranger either, so it didn't seem right to have him invite Three Elks to join them. Thankfully, someone in the party is not completely anti-social.

In reply to Lathan Swiftstrider (msg # 924):

I'm glad too. In retrospect a character trait that so actively works against new people joining the party may not have been the best choice.
