Rissa, yes, you have enough space to expand the cabin. I hope you do not intend to rest inside it, though...

Heldig, with Lathan leading the party, you can move at your normal rate. So you should be able to travel 12 miles in about 4 hours.

Re: OOC III

Lorrain, can you identify as a ritual?

@Rissa: I'm guessing because it'll only stay up for 8 hours. We we can't all get a good rest if we're inside it. We'll get interrupted 2/3rds of the way through.

Well gang that is my plan. Heavier armor up front, archers in second, and ranged casters in back. What do you guys think?

Did you mean "Lucien" when you asked for an illusion spell?

Otherwise, the plan sounds good to me.

Re: OOC III

I dig the plan.  Heldig is on board.

A minor point.  It may have been an intentional bit of roleplay (or perhaps some negative transfer between the many editions of D&D), but Alisandra's guidance regarding a troll's ability to regenerate is not accurate.

Re: OOC III

As Lucien said, Rissa, the cottage will only stay large for 8 hours. And you definitely don't want to be inside it when it shrinks down.

And Lucien, you are wanting to have your familiar scout all the way down to the troll cave? Do you want it to go inside and explore, too?

I only want it to to explore past the initial 'room' where we've encountered the trolls previously if there aren't any trolls there when it arrives.

Re: OOC III

OOC II:
I goofed. Lorrain can only cast 2nd level spells. So he won't have the opportunity to write the 3rd level spells into his book :(

That said the 4 days were used to write Melf's Acid arrow into his book and to write a single scroll of Melf's Acid arrow.

Total Cost: 350 gold

FYI the scroll was used to write the spell into the spellbook
I love the details of arcane magic :)

I scribed Melf's Acid Arrow scroll :(

@Jinx

The previous version of Jinx was with us the first time we tried this. We had a Bardbarian by the name of Three Elks with us then.  He was surrounded by 6 Trolls, ripped half to death and back again, and then Rissa sealed him (still alive) in a Wall of Ice. Hence why everyone is being so grim and moody.

That player is now Heldig.

Yes, but THIS Jinx has a strange block in her memory.  Must be a product of the trauma, or something ;)

Anyone know why Jinx 1 or 2 decided to multi-class?  Was it an RP thing, or what?

Three Elks became Lorrain. Heldig is a new player.

Jinx was multi-class (Artificer 2/Wizard 1) when she joined us.

No worries. RPoL is a bit unique in that, once you join a game, the only  name you get to see is the character name.

It makes it a lot easier to mixup who is playing who.

Somewhere toward the upper range of a horn blast.  My understanding was that Alisandra was going to giver her horn a few blasts to draw them after our defenses were in order.

If a pair or a few more than that come to investigate a sound ... that would be more preferable than the whole filthy warren spilling out if we made the same racket right outside their cave.

Along the way, is there any variations in the cave width, height, and/or topography.  I missed if we were in a natural cavern or prepared tunnel.

I would say that we pick the narrowest spot, and/or one with stalagmites or ledges/elevation changes and such.

The tunnels vary in width from 5 feet to 40 feet, and in height from 5 feet to 30 feet. The floor of the tunnel that leads to the troll cave is extremely slippery, making it dangerous to move quickly. There is no discernible slope in this tunnel.
