The Evils of Haranshire
Once it has become apparent that Lyntern isn't there any more, and that his father sent men to return him to his home, Karon is entirely unsure what to think about this strange situation. It is, somehow, so far from his reality to have a parent that cares enough for a child to do that, and to have the resources to pull it off. "I'm not certain if the fact that the count sent men to bring his son back is a sign the count is a good parent or bad," he admits to the others. "It's not like I have much experience with what having good parents is like."
He finishes a loaf of bread he had with his breakfast as he speaks, but manages to swallow the bread before continuing. "You know the count better than I do, so, you tell me. At any rate, he won't be showing us that route into Thornwood then," he finishes.
