Arixos nods to the lizardman. [Language unknown: “Ss setch aiin mi reomil niilnonend.”] He said. He turned back to his party. ”Four giants attacked the lizardmen village. Two adults and two children. They were armed with clubs, and also some sort of psychic magic.” He translates the lizardman’s information to them. ”They will do one better than tell us the direction, they will help us track them down. I suggest we get moving, don’t want to waste any time.” He said.

Lathan nods. That there were two adult and two young giants was no surprise to him; he had seen the tracks, after all. However, that they used "psychic magic" was not previously known and is quite disconcerting. It seems like they may be even further in over their heads than he had thought. He makes haste in gathering his things and cleaning up their campsite.

"Arixos," he says when they are about ready to move. "Ask them if they know anything about a dragon that lives in the Mire. We heard that one of the local kids saw one recently."

With the news that the lizardmen will be helping the group hunt down the giants, Lucien begins to climb down out of the tree where he has been perched. He descends only a few branches before lithely jumping to the ground with a soft thud. He straightens up and gets another look at the lizardmen. While he's still not completely willing to trust the swamp dwellers, he's more than willing to look past his misgivings if it means finally having a lead. "We should start trying to think of a plan. Dealing with four giants won't be an easy task even if the locals agree to help."

"That's why I want to know about the dragon," Lathan says.

Arixos nods as he shoulders his pack, having cleared his stuff away. "Indeed, that is important to know. Perhaps, if we are lucky, it may even join our side against the giants, if Bahamut pleases." Lucien raises an eyebrow when Arixos reveals that the dragon is 'with' the lizardmen. Despite the many possible interpretations and nuances of that wording, it was not what he was expecting. "That potentially presents interesting possibilities."

"Interesting indeed," Lathan says with a puzzled expression. "If the dragon is with the lizardmen, why are they coming to us for help? Surely a dragon is more capable of dealing with giants than we are."

"Dragons may not be the most cooperative of friends or allies. Perhaps it might need a bit of convincing if we are to rally it to our cause," Viola says with a slightly forced grin - or perhaps a grimace at the thought of having to persuade a dragon.

"Or maybe the dragon is less of an ally and more of a master? Kobold tribes often serve dragons, perhaps this is something similar."

Lathan doesn't move. "While I appreciate their help in tracking down these giants, I would prefer to find out more about this dragon and why it isn't helping them with this problem. As it stands, I doubt we would be able to take down a group of giants on our own."

Karon glowers at the elf. His initial reaction is to accuse his new friend of cowardice, but he thinks better of it. Mostly because the elf happens to be right. Which is very annoying. "Yeah, having a dragon buddy that doesn't help against a bunch of giants seems weird to me too," he says, mostly just to say something. "Can you ask why it didn't help?"

Ever suspicious, Lucien remains where he is: leaning against the tree as a sign of solidarity with Lathan. "Not to put too much pressure on our new found translator, but some assurance that we aren't being brought to be dragon food would be nice. After that, we can plan as we march, but more reconnaissance will be needed before taking action I think."

Arixos stops and thinks, before nodding in agreement. "Perhaps the dragon does not see hunting down the giants as worth her time. But I will ask nonetheless, if it will put you at ease with these lizardmen. I believe them to be trustworthy." He said, giving his thoughts on the matter before heading back towards the lizardmen. I will ask anyway though, a dragon on our side would make things a lot easier." He said. He turned back towards the main lizardman. Under his breath so that only those close to him can hear, Lucien whispers. "That sounds like the attitude one might expect from a dragon. If we do get her assistance, we should make sure the agreement is made with care."

Though he doesn't look particularly pleased about it, Lucien moves forward to join the others as an indication that he is ready to follow to lizardmen to their camp. He keeps a careful eye on the surroundings by shifting once more to using his owl familiar's sight in the air high above the camp in the hopes of spotting any traps or ambushes.
