Re: OOC II
You may or may not pick up on IC the fact that her accent has changed slightly. She still sounds like someone from the southern areas of the continent, and someone from a sea faring community, but she has dropped the harshest most “piratey” of her accent, ie the “Ye’s” for you and your and “Me’s” for My and I, etc but she still has the drawl and such. I would put this into the category of someone (like me) who is from the South Eastern US who plays up their accent so others will think them dumber than they are and therefor underestimate them. By shifting, subtley, to a less harsh version she is subconsciously showing that she is both educated and willing to let this group see her real self. This is further shown by her willingness to be genuine about her feelings and such. If pushed she will reveal something she has only danced around, that wealthy people can pay less well off to answer their summons to war. She did this so that her own family could be financially secure, and as a result of her doing so she has been ostracized from her own community. That is the place that you all find her. She has been wounded by what she has seen and further wounded by the rejection she has felt from her own people. She is a bit lost and more than a bit lonely. Instead of crawling into herself and slowly dying she has chosen to be boisterous and welcoming in hopes of finding others like herself with whom she might befriend. Her story was very honest in a raw way, which might engender her to them or cause them to reject her, but either way she isn vulnerable. OK done with Knowledge drop, game on!
