Re: Isle de Los Tiberons

Trina looked over the seemingly empty shack... but when no reply came she began to feel particularly exposed.

'Nothing says the inhabitants will not be hostile? I'd better be ready to defend myself... I could be walking into an ambush.'

The elf girl drew readied her shield and uttered a few words cast a shield spell [2 cost]... and suddenly a bluish glow suffused her spreading from her hand-held shield to cover her entirely.

She looks up and swooping down to land upon her shoulder a large Reddish feathered hawk landed and perched. She smiles stroking its wing feathers gently.

Then turning to the hut uttered another word and a her left hand glowed with flames as she readied a flame jet spell.  Her magical powers ready.. her expression turn determined and she began to search the area for signs of habitation.  She does not attempt to enter the hut yet but is more concerned about finding any signs of habitation and identifying any ambush locations exterior to the hut before investigating it further - to make sure there are no hostiles around.

She does seem to be looking systematically for tracks though has not found any as yet...

Now that she's closer as she walks the area, its clear.. she is not as thin and reedy as a real elf, her delicate ears being only slightly pointed and she is for a 'seemingly' teen-aged girl, kind of busty for an elf... she may have some human blood in her heritage!

But clearly.. she is magical.

Ready to cast flame jet if needed.

Re: Isle de Los Tiberons

Sharn steps out into the open. The hut is on top of a 30 foot tall rock face. It's one of those bits of land that remain after the surrounding area erodes away.

"What do you want, Elf?"

She seems more curious than outright hostile. it's unusual for an Orc. Many of them would have bad intentions towards Trina.

Trina turned toward the green-skinned woman, "Oh! Hello there... my name is Trinaephalaryeth, uhm... I'm not really an elf.. I was shipwreaked and washed up on the west shore..."

Then she regarded her, "Uhm.. are you an Orc?"

There is no real fear or disgust in her tone.. merely a surprised curiosity.

[ooc: there is a map of the island in the dropbox link in the thread marked Maps. One quare is 1/10th of a mile(160m). So Trina is not that far from the lookout on the East side of the island. ]

"What gave it away? My tusks or my inate desire to make a necklace out of your pointy little ears?"

Sharn says with some sarcasm. A grin covers her brown face. She's not activly aiming at Trina. Behind her are several armed boys.

"My man will want to talk with you. I'm thinking of tossing you a rope as there is something out there that is very dangerous."

Sharn turns to Teruo.

"Should we let her up?"

In reply to Sharn (msg # 47):

Trina looks a little perplexed at first but not wanting the conversation to end says, "Uhm..well.. I guess.. its just I've never actually met an orc... they live waaay north of the great forest and in the desert.  Its a long ways from my home."

She pondered thoughtfully a missed translation, ~ Make a necklace of my ears? Anglish must not be her primary language... that makes no sense? ~, but she thought it best to just let it pass.

"Something dangerous out here, yes...there was a very aggressive Buffalo... following me... so I started to jog away from it...then something snatched it away when my back was turned from it... so I ran here.  Yes, I'll speak to your..er man if you'll give me permission to enter?  I did not want to intrude without asking."

Trina glances over her shoulder behind her looking to see if whatever got the Buffalo was visible in the distance...

Then turning back, "Uhm forgive me... what is your name ma'am?"

"I am called Sharn. I will say that you are polite for an Elf. "

She looks at Trina and frowns. She then says something to Teruo

Sharn then climbs down to  the ground. She is much larger and bulkier than Trina.

"I think it would be best if you come with me. If you have a cloak with a hood i would sugest that you put it on and cover your ears."

Trina, looks at the large greenish hued orc woman impressed with her build.

Not really understanding why Sharn is making a big deal of her ears, but deciding not to correct her again for not actually being an elf she nods and pulls up her hood to follow.

"Ok, I'm ready. Lead on Sharn."

Her hawk with it reddish hued feathers adjusts its perch on her shoulder... and eyes the Orc woman closely...

Trina looks up to see the human warrior and smiles, "I am indeed a warrior.. but I'm actually more of a Fire Wizard.  However, with perhaps slightly improved armor and weapons I can indeed hold my own in heavy combat if needed!"

Trina will waste no time gabbing but will enter the safety of their battlements as soon as they make entry available.

"Well met warrior, I'm named Trinaephalaryeth... but 'Trina' will suffice, What is your name?"

Trina suddenly recognizes something and smiling places her arms at her side and performs a traditional Japanese bow to Teruo.

"Are you Samurai Teruo? I see you do not bear a Dashio?  In my homeworld of Yrth far to the North lies the Kingdom of Sahud they are ruled by the Heavensking... who resides in the Imperial Palace. They are of very similar ethnicity to you I believe. I have always wanted to visit Sahud to see their exotic art and dress!"

Then she notes his rifle, "Is that a Firearm...? Then maybe you are from Earth?"

Taking a position on their battlements beside the two warriors.

"I can aid in the defense against a large beast... I'll prepare an Explosive fireball."

She begins to concentrate and at first nothing happens. Looking up she flushes at her cheeks in embarrassment, but says nothing and tries again.

07:09, Today: Trina rolled 15 using 3d6.  Cast Explosive Fireball [13-] building spell to hold. – 15

When she tries again a small ball of fire ignites in one outstretched hand... but she continues to concentrate upon the small floating mote of fire in her hand.. and it begins to grow in size slowly.

07:11, Today: Trina rolled 9 using 3d6.  Cast Explosive Fireball [13-] building spell to hold 2nd try. – 9

Re: Isle de Los Tiberons

Trina continues to softly chant  building her spell for two more seconds drawing energy from her familiar, Kyrie, on her shoulder... as she does the hawk's reddish feathers begin to softly glow.

She does not drain Kyrie for all the energy though she shares the cost with her familiar and the ball of fiery energy in her hand glows brightly as she holds the charge of power ready to hurl the fully charged explosive fireball against any threat.

Focusing her attention on the terrain beyond the battlements she only nods in reply to Teruo's words... maintaining her concentration.

Energy Cost: 6 [Trina 3, Kyrie 3]
