By the way, are we doing a story reboot/revamp as well or continuing from where we left off?

Based on the threads, I assume we are continuing the story from whee we left off.

Working on that right now. We could start it over with a new story and new time period, or we could pick up where we left off. Any preferences or ideas?

If we're talking ANY time period, I quite like the Old Republic era. Perhaps during the Mandalorian Wars?

I like the old republic too, but the mandalorian wars would basically exclude sith.  If we are switching eras I'd vote for Old Republic during the main Republic/Sith Empire war (including the initial strike, the cold war, and the full war) just because there are so many possibilities.  I'm fine with whatever we decide on though

True. I hadn't thought about the absence of the Sith. Legacy era is always an option too. It's just as open-ended as Old Republic, but if we set it after any canon events, literally anything is possible.

We could dial it back to any point during the old republic, not just hyperspace war or the mandalorian war. There is a host of time periods that werent fully realized inbetween. We could also start from the point that the other game did. Some undefined amount of time after Episode 6 where enough time had passed to start new jedi academys and new sith lords to arise.

Looking at setting this about fifty years prior to The disaster known as the Phantom Menace, about 75 BBY. This timeframe is pretty much wide open to both canon and Legacy timelines.

Works?

We believe to have a start to a story for everyone to jump in on and start playing.

"It has been said that long ago the Dark Lord Freedon Nadd immersed himself in equal parts light and dark. Honing and crafting the dark side of the force by imbuing it with the light. In this effort that it has been said that he created a terrifying instrument, a weapon with power unrivaled. Such a a weapon was never used, and the people who claimed to have seen it were either madmen or never heard from after. When the dark lord perished, a great hunt for his instrument began, but after many generations found nothing and war breaking out across the galaxy, it became little more than a fable to tell young padawans and history moved on.

Two months ago, a valuable trinket of a small bronze age village in a remote planet was given to a newly knighted jedi as thanks for their help in diverting a river that would have drowned the entire village. Two months ago, a holocron was given as gift, and the first genuine clue to the location of Freedon Nadd's lgendary creation was discovered.

Word spread fast in the fight circles, and the hunt begins again. No one knows what the fallen jedi created, but what it might be is all that matters. To some it is a weapon that must be destroyed before it falls in to the wrong hands. To others it is tool that will help them gain the control and power necessary to carve out their territory in the galaxy. To other still it is a paycheck several lifetimes over."

((Story subject to change or adjustment as needed))

What we really need now is a couple things from you guys. A sort of straw poll.

Would you prefer to start where we left off in the last game? The alternative would be that, since not all of the players from the last game have joined this one just yet, do you want to start from scratch with the story?

It would also be helpful if you had any start bias or preferences. (Start solo/with another player, Any specific planet, any specific starting hook in to the story (i.e. in jail, mission from superior/client, in a bar, at a disaster sight, etc...), and anything else that you might want to start your story off)

Story sounds good.  I'm fine with either as I had barely started in the other game.  If we start fresh, here's my preferences:

I prefer group RP so I'd like to either start solo but meet up with other players quickly or I somehow inadvertently group up (breaking into a law enforcement facility tracking down a lead/person of interest that might be another player, or myself and another player are going after the same thing and need each other's skill sets to accomplish the task, etc. but am open to mostly any ideas).  I'd have to work it out with the other player so it flows better.  I'm fine with any planet to start on
