Read Second: Character Creation
Stats:  Standard array of 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8

Level:  Start at level one

Races:  Almost anything from the PHB is permissible; other races will need my approval first.  I will note that only a handful of races are considered normal though.  Those races are Humans**, Halflings, Dwarfs, and Elves (not Drow).  Gnomes, Half-Elves, and Half-Orcs exist in stories, but few people have ever met one.  Drow, Tieflings, Dragonborn, and other races exist, but they are generally distrusted or viewed with outright fear.

**Please note that Humans have been modified from the Core Rules and are detailed in the House Rules section.

Classes:  Anything from the PHB is allowed.  However, I will note that the Druid class will find this game to be particularly challenging.

Feats: I will NOT be using the feats as detailed in the PHB.

Starting Equipment:  Use the standard options presented in the PHB for your class and background.  If a portion of that is strictly not usable or not in keeping with your character, you can swap out the listed standard for another item of equal or lesser value.  Send me a PM with your chosen exchange for final approval.

Read Second: Character Creation
I'm including an example character sheet in order to show how you might customize yours to your own needs.  This is an actual sheet that I made for a game recently, and you'll notice that I've made several modification to things to better accommodate my own needs at the time.

Anyway, I mean this to show what can be done and to encourage you to customize your own character such that you don't need to reference a book very often if at all.  I've renamed and deleted sections, added more details to others.  I even found a Common to Draconic translator, so I included Draconic words that my character chants whenever she casts those spells.  There's a lot of room for flexibility!
