Re: OOC

Asano Breathkill:
Asano is all for the quietest, darkest route possible.

<_<
>_>

For stealthy purposes only.

The obvious stealthy route would probably be out the back door of the inn, then around the town on the outskirts, then into the quarry. Is that what you're doing?

Re: OOC

Back door is fine, stealthy as much as we can is good, I think.

Re: OOC

In reply to DM (msg # 723):

Yeah, let's go straight out the back door, cut between those two blue-roofed buildings and then head to the far west end of the quarry.  If anybody spots us departing that way, we leave no living witnesses divert our course a bit south until we're out of sight of town, then loop back around :P

I'd suggest no lights until we're out of sight of town and can get a look over the quarry from the ridge, then decide what to do from there.  Darkvision folks will have to help guide Jak and Dweeble at some point.  Or perhaps Bram and Morg could give them piggyback rides :)

Re: OOC

Should probably do our best to keep quiet, though...well, seeing as our stealthiest folks are the ones WITHOUT darkvision that may be difficult :P Anyone got a hooded lantern?

By the way, I posted that Bram was advancing to the door at the far end and peeking through the slot... looking at the map now, I see that it's a long way off, so he'll wait for the others to either come along or try to talk him out of it :)

Re: OOC

Bram and Asano, I think the stone masked folk and Mellikho have probably been using this area we're in now.

Any news from Dwee? I was so excited to have Morg learn one of the battle master maneuvers at level 3 because it would be out of this world amazing when taken advantage of by her, and a feat at level 4 which would make it even better.

Re: OOC

Dweeble's last login was 2 weeks ago, so we've probably lost her again. Sad face.

I would also agree with your assessment of the recent use, though the DM has yet to mention any sign of recent activity. Aside from the cloaks and such.

Re: OOC

Are the cages like...open-bottomed so as to trap anyone they fall on? Or is there something inside the cages about to be released? lol

Yes; they're open bottomed cages falling from the ceiling to trap you :)

Re: OOC

I suspect something horrible's going to happen before we get another action each, but a question on pushing, pulling, and lifting (which is strength*30 pounds [so 540 for Morg]): is that the maximum, requiring a good roll vs some DC?

What happens if several characters (or some helping others for advantage [Morg may not need help, because the crowbar may already give him advantage]) do it at the same time? Is it all their strength*30 in pounds added together?

Thank goodness 5e simplifies it to make pushing, pulling, and lifting the same; because I sure can't lift what I can push, or push what I can pull.

All the push/pull/lift rules are generally to do with whether you are able to push/pull lift something at all, and if so how fast you can move while doing so. In this particular case, we'll handle most things do to with escaping the cages with a simple strength ability check (unless you're planning to drag a metal cage to the surface, for instance).

Re: OOC

Did the rusty bar snap at 2 places leaving a loose bar, or snap only at the top or bottom to push open for a gap?

Re: OOC

I forgot to ask, is it a free action (like talking) to drop something* like the crowbar or a weapon, or does it require an interaction or action: use an object?

*other than shields which always requires 1 action to take off

The bar snapped in the middle, and the remains of the bar are pretty rusty and ruined.

Yes, it's fine to pass the crowbar back and forth as a free action.

Re: OOC

Is the plan to keep breaking iron bars until you all can make it to the door? If so I can hand-wave all the individual rolls to speed things along, just let me know.
