Re: OOC

DM:
Is the plan to keep breaking iron bars until you all can make it to the door? If so I can hand-wave all the individual rolls to speed things along, just let me know.

I'm happy breaking bars thru to the slabs. Anyone want to go the other way to the  door with the slit?

Re: OOC

So which direction are you headed from the hall? There's east through the door with the eye slit, or back to the slabs of stone to go through one of them (either north or south).

Re: OOC

Anyone want to go east towards the footsteps to prevent the cage dropper from alerting others?

West, back to the cavern, or farther to go outside?

West to and thru the southern slab?

Is the outside towards the north? If so, Morg wants to go to west towards the slabs, checking the roof for more signs of cages all the way, put on one of the robes (and rolling up the sleeves and lower part if there aren't dwarf length robes), and offer the other robes to the party. Check the northern passageway's roof for traps at the slab at AM35, and go north.

Re: OOC

Apologies for the silence, all.  The last week or so has been wild for me and I haven't had much left over brainpower for RPOL!

Anyone in this place who might be alerted has to be alerted already by now, so there's no helping that!  I kind of want to chase down whoever was at the eye slit and dropping cages on us.  They went to a lot of trouble to defend that door at the end, so they must really not want us to go there.  Which of course makes me want to check it out all the more!

Towards the person messing with us sounds good...figure out how many they are so we don't have to deal with a nasty trap later.

Re: OOC

Before we go east towards the cage-dropper, should we break the bars for a quick route all the way to AO, in case we need to escape west later but can't find levers to lift the cages?

Or go east as quickly as possible once the party is together again?

Edit: fixed typo: "Before" not "Beware".

Re: OOC

Hi everyone!

I just want to apologize for leaving out of nowhere last time.  I had some personal issues that pulled me away from the computer for a time and ultimately ended up pulling me away from most everything else on top of that for a much more extended period than I'd have ever anticipated.

I'm thrilled the DM let me come back, and that there ended up being an opening for me to do so, and I'm super excited to get to play this character out!  (And no doubt for a much longer period than I got to last time.)

I'm going to ask the DM a few questions in PMs about what I missed or that Dweeble might've been a part of that, or at least to make sure I get the important bits.  If any of you have something to share with me about something that happened in character or something you want to bring my attention to, please let me know!  I'm going to work on reacquainting myself fully today.

Every now and then real life's gonna give you a natural 1.

Looking forward to more Dwee/Bram interactions. Also, 3rd level rogues are a thing of beauty with their archetype and double sneak attack damage - so Bram and Morg will make sure to help Dwee get in some sneaky attacks.

Re: OOC

"Oye, I'll show that bespectacled pointy-ear what's what, alright!"

Jokes aside, I'm really looking forward to getting to play Dweeble again.  She's a character I've thought about for a great amount of time and always shelved in favor of playing a character that the party needs to round out the dynamic.  So yeah, here's to hoping Bram doesn't mind a constant nagging, waist-high little hin on his case!

And yeah, I'm looking forward to getting to play her at level 3!  I'm going with Thief so she'll definitely be doing some odd stuff when she doesn't have to be all stabby-stabby.

Re: OOC

So what's everyone thinking the room is about?  Ritual sacrifice?  Penance chamber?  Just a fun lobby before you see the chiropractor about your crippling back pain?  Seems like he prescribes rocks to the body!

That the boy wasn't killed, that the cages just temporarily trap instead of killing (or delay us from running away from ranged attacks or deadly traps), and that the stone masked men let the quarry men see them; makes me think they're thinking that people will join them, rather than that they want to do something in secret.

A cult that thinks they're doing the right thing and that others will agree, is super scary.

Re: OOC

Hey DM, besides the big stone block in the middle of the room, is there anywhere else to hide?  Patches of shadow, small outcroppings, or anything else along those lines?  Also, how big around is the stone in the center of the room?  If Dweeble was standing in a crouched demeanor, would she still be able to be seen from the doorway at that angle?

If she's a lightfoot, she can use her naturally stealthy trait to hide behind any of the other PCs.

She is indeed a lightfoot.  I'd just rather have her in a different place at the beginning of the fight if able.

Re: OOC

I just remembered that Bram activated Daylight from the driftglobe when we first came in, so no need for torches at the moment!  When he equipped his axe he'd have left it floating somewhere near the middle of the room.  An irresistible thieving temptation for Dweeble, I'm sure :)

Re: OOC

The torch was more so for moving ahead, not worrying about the current room.  She wasn't going to leave poor Jak without light!  I won't lie and say I didn't think about having her intercept it, though!  Even she has morals though, especially with the people she's now sticking around.  Besides, like she said, Bram worked hard for his stuff!

Though, speaking of morals...  Man she really doesn't have much in the way of those.
