Re: OOC

Also, does anyone need the nice shiny dagger that's on the ground?  Dweeble is a collector of sorts.  Though she has plenty, and can buy plenty more.  So if Jak or someone else wants it, let me know.

Re: OOC

I think it'd be pretty silly of us NOT to give the shiny, magical-looking dagger to the rogue of the party!  Even if one of us tried to take it I imagine it would likely wind up in Dweeble's possession soon enough regardless :)

Re: OOC

Well now the DM has definitely made it noteworthy so I'd be lying to say if I don't want to get Dweeble's little hands on it even more.  Still, I'm a much less covetous individual than Dweeble!

Dweeble:
I think Mayon needs a bit of a boost, though.  As does Morgy.

Morg will be fine even if a short rest is interrupted, as long as we keep a lookout against a surprise attack.

Re: OOC

Shall we split the day 5 dwarf statue offerings loot in the following way:

Each:
+16 gp
+42 sp
+73 cp
+5gp small green agate gem
(+dagger for Dwee)

Party funds (carried by Mayon?) (to be split when >=6, or sold/made into small change and split, or to pay (or pay back) for things like wagon and goods storage):
PP:
GP: 1
EP:
SP: 1
CP: 2
Gems:
100gp worth of polished moonstones

Works for me!  Though I think Dweeble is too enamored by her new favorite toy to worry about the other loot much.

So I'm assuming we're taking that short rest, no?  The cavern should be fine for a quick break I'd say anyways.

Re: OOC

I think we can worry about loot splits once we're done with this place and can assess anything else we might find too.  Some of us may yet die also, which would, umm, affect the split :P

Bram is only down 4 HP and we don't know how big this place is, so I think he won't spend a HD just yet.  Let's close and bar the doors such has we can and take that short rest, though.

Re: OOC

Honestly I expected to have something happen when Dweeble jumped on that stone...  I don't think I have much more for her to do with it at this point.  Let the magical folk try to figure it out if they want!

Happy (early) Independence Day to all (for those in the US, anyway)!

Let me know if you want to get closer to the dead bodies to investigate them, or leave the room in some direction, or do something else of course.

Happy future 4th!

Nobody seems particularly eager to attack the rats right now, so I think it's safe to say we're backtracking for now.  Any objections to Bram's suggestion to try the Eastern door out of the statue room?

Re: OOC

I'm fine with that, though from what Dweeble saw there isn't much there.  Of course, there might be a secret lever or stone in the wall or some such!

To clarify, there was in fact another stone door at the end of the corridor leading east out of the Dwarf statue room per the original post:

DM:
Dwee peers through the eastern door and sees another ten foot wide hallway hewn out of the rock, running forty feet ahead to another stone door. [emphasis added]

Re: OOC

Yeah but doors are sooooo boring.  A door just leads to a room but a lever can lead to anywhere.  It can even lead to a room!

Re: OOC

Door sounds good. Gotta check everything to make sure no one else is sneaking around to open cages.

Apologies for being pretty inactive lately...end of June turned out to be pretty rough :/ It's all good now though, so should begin posting more frequently again. For now Mayon's just been quietly hanging back and pondering or something.

Happy 4th to all my fellow Americans!  Technically I have about 3 hours of waiting still but any of you on the East coast are there now.

Also no worries, Mayon!  Although Dweeble and Mayon are going to need to have a serious talk about his hiding skills.  Remember, hiding always works.  At least Dweeble says so.

DM, just a heads up.  The map doesn't seem to have updated.  At least it hasn't updated on the link for the Quarry Tunnel for me!

By the way, there's a beta for D&D Beyond going on now, https://www.dndbeyond.com. I haven't played with it much yet, but the character builder seems pretty good.

Re: OOC

I've played around with it quite a bit so far, DM.  I was trying it out alongside a game on Roll20 that I recently joined.

So far, I've found that it doesn't add much if you have some other site or source to use for all of your information.  It's been just a huge collection of superfluousness since I've been using all my information on Roll20 anyways.

With that said, if you're only using it for looking information up or using it standalone, I think it's probably amazing.  I'm so used to sifting through all of my books that I haven't even used it for spells and the like yet, though.

I think it'll take some time to get used to using instead of my books, potentially, but I will say the site itself seems very well designed to be.  Intuitive navigation, simple and explanatory headers, and honestly a really good flow of information if you're going down a list to get what you need.

Re: OOC

DM can you tell me how close Dweeble is to the top, height-wise, of the stone pillar she's on top of?  And can she see over the stone that's in front of her still?  If not, where would she need to move to in order to do so?

Just trying to look down from the terrain without being on the downward slope or edge of the other side!

Let's say she's on top of an archway pillar, 10' off the floor. She can see over any stones directly in front of her.

Apparently I need to sacrifice a small child to the dice gods now because that's two Nat 1's in a row that I've rolled with the dice roller. Sigh.

Re: OOC

Jak, what attack are you readying if something/one comes out of the stones? Go ahead and roll for it (if applicable) in case your readied action triggers.
