She motioned to the others, and went through the door, letting Morg to first, moving as carefully and quietly as she could in clinking armor.

Re: Day 6 - Feathergale Guests

Rona and Morg open the door beyond the short corridor. Filing slowly in from one of the two doors set in the northern wall, the group surveys the dark room.

Four old wooden tables with bench seats stand in the middle of the room, and shelves of plain clay crockery and wooden platters line the walls. To the west, two windows look out into the darkening night. A door leads from this room to the south, in addition to the two north-facing doors. Several plain, dirty dishes sit on one of the tables.

A distant noise that sounds like the opening of a door echos from behind the group in the direction of the main doors to the shrine.

"Let's retrieve the rest of our belongings before we investigate this place any further," Asano says at the lack of any hostile opposition.

Jak brought up the rear, staying quiet and letting the others pretend to be monks and guards and whatnot. He just wanted to get his stuff and get out of there. While a lot could possibly be learned from the temple, they needed to find a place to hole up and rest.

Re: Day 6 - Feathergale Guests

Morg looks for distinguishing features of the disguised Zora and Asano, peers thru the windows, and tries to figure out how many monks may be in the monastery based on the amount of cutlery.

He then slowly heads out of the mess hall thru the southern door.
Action: ready attack triggered by hostiles, continuously until we're save.

Mayon nods at the mention of retrieving belongings, covering himself in the damaged cloaks as well, hoping that they suffice to hide their features from the others. He twirls his hand absently and resummons his sprite, now awake and alert before turning invisible again.

Resummoning familiar as an action.

Re: Day 6 - Feathergale Guests

Morg notices enough spaces on benches for about fifteen to twenty people as he moves quickly through the room.

Moving through the mess hall and the darkened corridor beyond it, the group arrives back at the entrance to the monastery, and is able to retrieve their belongings still stacked in a corner of the room.

Through the windows looking into the inner courtyard, a rustling of robes suddenly echos off the rock walls. Several figures emerge from the shrine beyond and move closer to the windows, arms outstretched slightly. One of them approaches the dim circle of light given off by the dagger in Zora's hand.

Seemingly spotting the group for the first time, the monk bows slightly in Zora and Asano's direction. He touches his thumbs and forefingers together in front of him, making a sort of triangle shape.

Map updated!

Everyone who left anything behind at the entrance can now recover those items.

Morg puts his backpack on, and then turns away from the windows after seeing all the monks in the courtyard. Heading towards the southern double doors while trying to stay out of the range of Reszur's light, he tries to open the doors to leave the monastery.

Asano makes the same gesture back to the faceless monk, bowing slightly deeper in return. He says nothing, merely indicating for the party to continue on their way quietly and peacefully.

The monk seems satisfied, nodding silently. After a moment the whole group moves on down the corridor, exiting through a door to the east.

You're all clear to leave the monastery now, if that's what you'd like to do. What now?

Also just for clarification, is Morg still dragging Qarbo along?

Re: Day 6 - Feathergale Guests

After departing the monastery, the group quickly makes their way out of the defile and into the surrounding forest.

Strong winds buffet them as they struggle to make a fire. Rona looks around with an air of recognition.

Eventually a hasty meal is consumed and camp is set for the night.

Long rest achieved! Feel free to reclaim spell slots, hit points, etc. as you normally would for a long rest. Nothing bothers you overnight.

I'll keep this thread open in case anyone want to interact in character for a bit, but  I'll post a new thread for Day 7 shortly.

Re: Day 6 - Feathergale Guests

"How much you wanna know 'bout me?", the half-orc growls between bites of his food, no hostile intent in it, but food seems to be more on his mind than talk. Nevertheless, the half-orc continues talking between bites and while chewing, "As for the monk building, I was ambushed and knocked out. Woke up inside it, just as you all started fightin'. Don' know nothin' bout dead-meat over there, only that these guys were goin' through the woods and I was trail-following them. Heard 'bout some missing folk from Mirabar, thought it might have somethin' to do with this bandit raid I over heard, thought I'd take a look and see if I could stop it. Monks seemed off to me, see where they were goin', but they knew I was there I guess."

"I got time," she replied smiling.

"You ever hear of a captain named Gar Shatterkeel? Or a Genasi pirate named Shoalar Quanderil? He apparently runs a keelboat out of Womford. I owe Captain Shatterkeel some payback, and apparently he consorts with Quanderil."

"Never heard of 'em." The half-orc says to the human while shaking his head, when the dwarf offers him liver he grins widely and responds to the mans question, "Over heard a guy lookin' for muscle for some pirate called Grimjaw, says there's supposed to be a raid. I think its goin' to take place a couple hours walk south of Summit Hall. Figured these bandits might've something to do with the Mirabar folk."

"Oh m' names Rona'Aduur, least thats the name you city folk gave me. Didn't have a 'proper' name til I came back to where I was born, I lived in the woods with a family of grizzly 'fore that. Call me Rona, I doubt ya'll can call my name in bear."

Morg scratches his chin, and says "I've wanted to go to Summit Hall, tho the Mirabar people went missing earlier already."

"I didn't know bears gave names, but I also hadn't seen a faerie until today," he says looking at Mayon's familiar, "so that just means there's more interesting things to discover. Do bears speak?"
