Kaabo watched the others pulling out items, but he kept his mouth just as closed as he did his pack.

Re: Day 10 - Leavetakings and Arrivals

Although not particularly talkative the bear shows an unusual familiarity with the concept of gifting something to the host.  Approaching slowly she lowers her forward shoulders a little bit without lowering her head, this change in angle reveals a small wooden barrel on a collar concealed under her neck fur.  Gently pushing a single lever attached to the barrel with one fore paw she holds it for the few seconds it takes for a dozen small berries to fall out, then backs away.

Re: Day 10 - Leavetakings and Arrivals

The woman steps slowly over to Landrin and absently takes the coins from Landrin's hand, her skin leaving a trace of moisture behind on his palm.

"Indeed I can, Morg," she says as she accepts the bone dice. "In fact I may have a gift in return for you, if you simply perform a small favor for me."

Thuluna doesn't stoop to pick up any of the berries, but does pause to stroke the bear between the ears. "Interesting," she muses to herself. "You're not who I thought you were."

Glancing at Makari, she hisses at the holy symbol "Where did you get that?" she croaks.

Makari flinched back a little at the reaction to the holy symbol he held out, blinking rapidly a few times, eyes wide. "Uh. I...found it." His gaze swept downward to it, though he looked a little embarrassed. "I...actually don't even know the deity it represents."

Morg picks up the healing berries if Luna doesn't.

As she hisses at Makari's gift, Morg tries to casually move between them.
After Luna replies, he'll ask what kind of favor.

Thuluna stays silent for a moment, then nods slightly. "No matter. Wear it. It will bring you luck down here."

She turns back to Morg. "A small favor. There's a little item I need to collect from another person in the temple, a man by the name of Gar Shatterkeel. He has a trident I've got a hankering for." She scratches her side with a bony hand.

"Just bring me that trident, and I'll find a way to reward you. What are you after? Treasure?" She chuckles. "I can give you treasure. Maybe other things you want too, if you tell me about them."

She gestures to a broken divan, where a pile of flame red pieces of cloth sits. "Oh, and you have to wear those tabards. That'll help."

Landrin watches her hesitantly and points to the red fabric. “I’m guessing those are supposed to be disguises of some sort?”

"Gah Shatterkeel," Morg says. "I've heard of him - he's in league with the pirate Quandehil. What does this trident do?"

"Tyar-Besil is the treasure I want."

Re: Day 10 - Leavetakings and Arrivals

Makari's eyebrows went upwards at the swinging reactions and shifts of the strange female in front of them. He looked down at the strange holy symbol warily for a moment, but finally hung it about his neck gingerly.

He looked over at the tabards she had indicated and let out a sigh. "May we be so bold as to ask-" but Landrin had beaten him to it, even if he had asked a different question than Makari would have. He shrugged and picked up one of the tabards, eyeing it a moment.

Re: Day 10 - Leavetakings and Arrivals

Thuluna nods under her hood at Landrin's question, then turns to Morg. "You stand in the ruins of Tyar-Besil young Morg," she says to the dwarf. "The trident is of no use to you, but depriving Shatterkeel of the trident might be useful if you want to reclaim this ancient dwarven kingdom." She leans in. "With the trident, I could help you dwarves. I could help you clear out this place, and make it safe to rebuild."

Makari and Kaabo examine the tabards, finding that each is emblazoned with this symbol. Several are torn or cut, and others bear bloodstains.

Morg walks over to the tabards, looking for something that fits. "I know that you're reading my mind, and that I was told you're a hag or something similar," he says to Luna, "so you know I can't promise you the trident, because I can't yet trust you to not do something evil with it. But, your fey magic may be able to help the rightful heirs of Tyar-Besil, so tell us what you know about Shatterkeel, and we can talk again afterwards."

Re: Day 10 - Leavetakings and Arrivals

"Reading minds is a practiced skill," Thuluna says carefully. "As to who or what I am, does it matter if I can get you what you need?"

She shuffles over to an irregularly shaped piece of parchment stacked in a pile of other belongings near the corner of the room, then hands it to Morg. The sheet is ripped in several places, but it is clearly a partial map of the underground cavern.

"Gar is a bore," Thuluna begins, her voice betraying her disdain. "He's a true believer of the water cult, and he's been beaten down by life too much to care for himself anymore. The barnacles that grow on his skin are proof enough of that, even if his carelessness in losing a hand didn't already show that. Best to eliminate him, since he's so dangerous, but if you can't manage that at least take that cursed trident away from him. I can use it to help you," she emphasizes, her voice cracking.

Map updated! The additional revealed areas reflect the unexplored areas of the cavern visible on the map.

Re: Day 10 - Leavetakings and Arrivals

Makari watched the interplay and conversation between Thuluna and Morg with a careful eye and attentive ear. One eyebrow rose up at the talk of mind reading, but the more interesting talk, to him at least, was surrounding Gar and the 'cult'. And that she wanted the trident. He wondered what it could do.

He glanced at Morg and shrugged, "Can't make promises but we'll do what we can?"

Landrin did his best to clean the disguise and put it on. “Well when making deals, wording is certainly important. The letter of the deal can be uphold even if the intention is not. Sounds like you’re trying to make this agreement as vague as possible, but I leave it up to those smarter than me to finalize the details.”

"No promises yet from me, but the rest may have different needs and goals: revenge, riches, adventure and excitement, righteousness..." Morg says.

"Thank you kindly." he says as he takes the map and shows it to the rest of the party. "Does Shatterkeel have any magical powers without magical items?"

Edit: added "without magical items".

Thuluna notes Landrin putting on the tabard, then turns back to Morg. "Oh, aye," she says slowly, "I s'pose he remembers a druid trick or two, if barnacles haven't invaded his brain."

She pauses. "Anythin' else you need before I send you on your way? Or are you lookin' to rest up for the remainder of the night?"

He finished putting the tabard on.

Re: Day 10 - Leavetakings and Arrivals

The courtyard falls to a stillness as the Thuluna's glyph-covered door swings shut. Occasional stirrings of movement can be heard to the north, as someone is clearly still awake in the dead of night, moving what sounds like large objects around.

As the group settles to rest, members of the group take turns sleeping. Given the danger nearby, nobody sleeps well. Rest is interrupted frequently by sudden periods of waking, sometimes as the result of vivid dreams.

You're able to complete the Long Rest without incident, and we can say the rest concludes around what the party believes is 10am the next morning.

Feel free to wrap up anything that happens during the long rest in this thread, including the full benefits of a long rest, and when we're ready I'll start up a new thread for the Next Day. =)
