I have 4 goals for this game:

1) Focus on roleplaying realistic character reactions over metagaming
2) Focus on story over rules
3) Focus on writing a story we'd all want to read over min-maxing
4) Keep the story moving at a fast enough pace to stay interesting, without going so fast that players can't keep up.

I am new to DMing on RPoL, though I've played several games here. I may need to struggle through learning some of the DM-only features, but I anticipate being a fast learner.

The Adventure
This adventure will generally follow the WOTC published adventure Princes of the Apocalypse. If the players choose certain paths we may wander off the scope of the published content, yet that's not the primary intention.

This is a long adventure, expected to take characters from level 1 to 15. I'm anticipating running this adventure for its full length, which is likely to take quite some period of time. If a player leaves I will seek out a replacement player, who may take over the existing character.

The adventure is set in the Forgotten Realms, though no special information or backstory of the setting is required, and I don't plan to do extensive research to ensure alignment to FR canon. However, if you happen to be knowledgeable about the Forgotten Realms feel free to include that knowledge in character development and as you play.

The theme of the adventure includes mystery and some humor. I personally intend to inject some humor into the adventure, though this is not intended to be a farce.

You can optionally choose to be aligned to one of the Five Factions of the Forgotten Realms. If you do, explain how this came about in your character backstory.
