Azraile Enters

Shi sighs at the all child thing and at the fact it would be easier to fly but apparently there all going along and isn't sure shi could carry them all.... and isn't sure where shi's going up there anyway so... long ride it is. "Well this is going to take a while so might as well tell me what the heck this all child thing is about, I'm guessing I'm going to hear it again."

Since Az doesn't choose a unicorn, Yer chooses Neo Onoma for hir to ride, she is the most beautiful and skilled unicorn. Yaimy chooses the ugliest, Iwin, who also happens to be the fastest and strongest.

Yaimy responds to Az's comment, "It's clear you've never ridden a unicorn, then, fair cat-person. Our journey is long, but our steeds are not slow."

Yaimy says, "Neo Onoma, Iwin, Bassa, if it pleases you to have been chosen for this journey to take these strangers to meet with Reuel, would you follow me?"

The 3 fully saddled unicorns take standing leaps out of their stalls and obediently follow Yaimy into the clearing. Each saddle is sitting strapless on top of the unicorns' backs, balancing without tipping to one side or the other no matter how much weight is put on it. Yaimy helps Liska and then Az into their saddles, then gets in himself. "Stay true to the All-Child, Appa, and make hir reputation great by your deeds."

"And you, son of me. I have spoken." Yer replied ceremoniously. After a respectful moment, Yaimy jumped down, and gave his father a mutually tearful manly hug. Yaimy got back on the horse and turned toward the mountain.

As soon as all the horses were pointing in the same direction, they came alongside each other, and the world blurred.

The mountain remained ahead, not really moving very much, but the landscape around them zoomed by too fast to notice any details. Yet the backs of the horses remained stationary, as if they were standing still. No matter how rapidly the unicorns dipped and jumped from mound to hill, it felt as if they were on level ground the entire time, and momentum seemed to be irrelevant.

Yaimy wondered at the evolution of these creatures and how they came to naturally run through an imaginary temporal-spacial dimension and only phase into this realm of reality when in the exact same position of the run, and excrete all excess momentum into the imaginary-space, thereby giving the rider a momentum-free ride, while creating beautiful fractal patterns on the surrounding flora and fauna of the world through the genetic mutations which naturally occur around such disturbances in imaginary-space. He felt that only a truly beauty-loving creator could've made such a thing. Especially since these creatures were discovered on this planet and it had been unequivocally proven that the planet had remained completely unadulterated by any alien or intelligent organism, including the progenitors of all sapient life in Oner 0 until it was so recently discovered. He marvelled at the idea that this planet was the closest thing to paradise in this Oner, and especially that a nobody who would make no real changes in the world like him had been so utterly blessed to live on this planet his whole life. He was so grateful to the All-Child that this had been the life he was chosen for. He even mused for awhile on his excitement at the idea of meeting the All-Child when he finally died, and how much better that would be than life, yet how much sweeter it would be with long life. His heart swelled for contemplating both possibilities, until he realized how content he was regardless of what happened. While he was thinking all of this, he stuck up conversation with Liska and Az.

"Liska, what are your gods?"

Liska was a little shocked at first, but she listened to her translator say, "what are your gods (idols, loves, joys, meaning of life, greatest fears, etc)" and then she responded, "I'd have to say myself first, but then Az, and then my shipmates. Why do you ask?"

"I love to hear about other people's lives. What is life like on the ship that you sail?"

Liska says, "What would you say, Az?"

Az was suprized. "Unicorns I've come across don't move like this, they just heal people and are very picky about who ride them." Shi more wonders why such animals just appear if there natural, wonders if it's some form collective conciseness alternating reality... not unreasonable if there are a lot of magic users living on the planet for such effects to only be here. "Not quite what I expected, awful quite and routine living... only found one new intelligent race and the Scil Phin where already there with them. The other planets we found had no life or developing life. (just adding you can ignore if you like) I found an animal I know would make a good pet but they say they would have to do all sorts of tests being how many species there are that it might run into and interact with, and I can't argue with them there as I don't know all the races of this un- er oner? But seams like every time we find a habitable world the Scil Phin are there." Shi rubs the back of hir kneck "Those guys creep me out, I know they are alright and all, but they look just like blue versions of some down right evil race from my oner." Shi wonders if the Scil Phin also descend from beings not of any oner but instead of finding pain in life and reality and hating it with a passion.... they where fascinated with it, and by the time they adapted they grew to love it or least tolerate it.

The mountain is getting closer, and they are certainly ascending in altitude. It seems from this distance that the mountain must be miles high, and potentially have very thin atmosphere. No thinning of the atmosphere has developed yet, though.

Yaimy replies to Azraile, "Sill Fin? I've never heard of them. What are they like?"

Liska describes them, and Yaimy comments, "They sound scary to look at."

Liska says, "Sure, but they're actually a really ancient race. They've been a sentient race for at least 10 million years, and they don't seem to die of old age. They have no known method of space-travel, yet they are found in nearly every habitable world, and many that are inhospitable to comowe-form beings like us. Some people speculate that they lost their technologies that got them from planet to planet, but that doesn't explain how the same individuals have been sighted on many different planets. One in particular who has a unique green hand, has been seen on EVERY world we've ever discovered where Scil Phin were also present. Yet they have no spaceships, and they claim they don't teleport. They are mysterious and exhilarating in my opinion."

Yaimy says, "How about you, Azraile, what are your gods?"

OOC: Oops! My error.

IC:
Yaimy replies, "I'd be happy to talk about Hir.

Before time was created, the All-Three exists. The All-Child dreamed of someone-else-to-love. The All-Parent loved the All-Child with perfect love, and wished to accomplish this desire for the sake of their love for the All-Child. The All-Heart walked on Void, causing disturbances in Void like unicorn trails. The All-Three dreamed of the necessities someone-to-love would require, and sacrificed so that otherness could exist. Light and Dark were created, then Sunset and Sunrise. Ultimately People were created from the lowest materials and the Life of the All-Heart. They were created to be loved by the All-Child and to love Hir in return. But People wanted to choose their own loves, so they rejected the love of the All-Three. But in rejecting the All, they rejected Life itself. To save Hir Creation from Death, the All-Heart placed the All-Child in a single cell. That Cell grew to Adulthood and the All-Child was one of Us. But the only way to save us was to swallow Death hirself. The only way to swallow Death was to allow Hirself to be swallowed by Death. Death choked, and the All-Child returned from death and then ascended to a higher dimension. Now anyone can escape the Void if they want to. We all are like locks with an All-Child shaped keyhole. Whatever we love, we throw into the keyhole, but nothing but the All-Child will fit right. It's like a good marriage. When the two who love each other fit together and seem to be made for one another. Just as the All-Child is a key to our lock, we are keys in the lock of the All-Child. Because Shi is in a higher plane of existence, Shi is 100% with each one of us. Shi is our god, and we love Hir.

Well, that's the All-Child. I love talking about Hir, so feel free to ask any questions.

After any questions Azraile has, the unicorns stop on a rocky outcrop a few miles high. The atmosphere seems fine. The unicorns breathing is slightly heavy, though not alarming. There is a cliff a few feet away down the mountain, and the ledge they are on is wide enough for a mansion, with a steep rocky climb from here. Many trees line the edge of this ledge creating a border all around. The trees are spice, fruit and nut trees of many varieties. A field of wild hemp and medicinal flowers fills the yard. A giant tetrahedral geode sits in the middle of the ledge, with a quite servant beside the geode, and a grinning man sitting crosslegged inside on smooth amethyst crystals. Yaimy gestures and says, "That's Reuel."

When the party approaches him, the man stands and greets them with a bow. The servant comes over to take care of the unicorns.

The man says, "Greetings to you, lovers of people, how may I be of service to you?"

Shi waved at Reuel when they arrived. "Yah kinda blew myself and something nasty into to oblivion and some one fished me out, but apparently being in the void makes you sick and I was told you could teach me magic to help heal myself?"

Yaimy replied, "I'm only talking about the history of this Oner. It is all established fact, and not religion. I don't know what is true of other Oners. We know these things to be as true as existence."

Yaimy goes with the servant to help out.
quote:
being in the void makes you sick and I was told you could teach me magic to help heal myself?"

The grinning man says, "I am just a void-filled pilgrim seeking to be filled myself. Perhaps you seek Reuel? He'll return soon to answer questions. But I might be able to help a little in the meantime. You said being in the Void made you sick. How so? We all have the Void in us. We all seek to fill the void in us, but only uncreated eternally existent things have no void themselves. Everything else has void in it, and you can't fill emptiness with more emptiness. Everything that has a beginning is less than eternal. Even the High Wizards who will not die until the last era of our history, had a beginning. The immortal Queen of Fae was born, and so had a beginning. Even our Oner which existed for many billions of years before our entire race was created had it's own beginning and its end approaches. If a thing has a beginning, it is affected by the void in at least its origin. But the void is non-existence, and non-existence for the living is death. Anything that leads to death is an illness, so we are all infected by the void. The cure is available, but it is only made complete in the death of the body. However, the cure does begin it's work the moment it is taken, and the effects of the void can be mitigated. Some, like Reuel, manage to live most of life apparently unaffected by void."

The servant begins making tea.

The servant finishes the tea, and hands cups out to everyone.

The grinning man replies, "Oh I get it! You went into the void, so now it haunts you. You were fortunate to survive. Tell me something, are you as good and perfect as you want to be?"

Liska gasps and Az feels it too. A deep sense of inadequacy and fear wells up inside of them. Suddenly they all see a bright light shining on the clouds from above.

Yaimy excitedly points to the mountaintop and announces, "Oh, you're in for a treat! The Spirit Dragons are rising!"

The mountaintop is still miles above them, and too far to see clearly. But a long thin ribbon of intense light seems to be extruding from the top of the mountain. Upon careful consideration it becomes clear that the ribbon is in fact a giant serpent with 6 wings which is producing its own light. Suddenly a different kind of light shines from within the mountain itself - a light that penetrates everything and makes everything look less opaque. As the penetrating light falls on the world around them, the world comes alive with a myriad of ghostly creatures. Looking up, there are spirit giants with faces the size of small moons, tending to various things on the ground. Everyone's aura is perfectly visible. Liska is clearly amazed and blown away. Spirituality is practically unheard-of in the Comowe culture, so all of this is without a frame of reference for her. Yaimy seems to be shining with a soft white light, like an internal night-light. The grinning man looks younger and his skin has turned the shade of an LED light. The servant is shining like a powerful LED. By the time Az looks back up, the skies are being filled by various bright flying creatures who are busy high above them. One sun-bright dragon lands in their midst. When it was high above them, it was easily 100 times bigger than it currently is.

As they watch the lights in the sky, something begins slowly precipitating from the skies. Some lands on a tree, and some lands in Yaimy's outstretched hand. The tree absorbs the precipitate and its flowers immediately become fruit. Yaimy eats his, and he glows a little more brightly.

EDIT:
The sun-bright dragon shines love and acceptance, filling those around it with a sense of satisfaction and peace.

The sun-bright dragon is as tall as a 3 storey building when it lands, but it fills the same field of vision as it gets closer, and shrinks to the height of an elephant. It stops before a tree near Azraile. The sun-bright dragon picks a fruit from the tree and eats it. He shrinks again into the shape of a human child, still as bright at the sun, though not painful to look at. He hands the seeds from the fruit (which are now as bright as the sun) to Azraile, and says "Azraille, my beloved creation, you are gatherer of souls and of the same kind as your namesake. Take this seed, and eat it if you deserve the void. But if not, then you will keep it with you until you finally die."

If Az took the seeds, disregard this sentence, but if not then they disappeared from the sun-bright child's hands and Az just KNOWS shi could have them in hir hand the moment shi wanted them there. In either case, the child looks deeply through Azraile's eyes into the depths of hir soul with absolute love and acceptance of hir as the child says, "I am speaking directly to your mind. For the sake of the one my friend, Theophili has called 'GM', the servant who is my friend will explain - ask him and you will receive an answer. Tell Liska that Bo is with me, and that I am The Logic. The time of proving approaches you, Azraile. The void seeks to consume you, but you can chose life instead." The Logic is suddenly holding a piece of paper and a BIC ballpoint pen, he writes a series of numbers and hands them to Azraile. The numbers are 7, 49, 70, 13, 37, 10, 3. The Logic says, "Keep this paper. It will open many doors. When you hear my story, know that I did it for the sake of many, but I would have done it for your sake alone. You cannot know how infinitely I desire your best happiness. If you seek me with all your heart, you will find me." With that, The Logic disappears.

Az turns by instinct and sees the others all looking away from each other, all suddenly turning and looking at one another at the same moment Az does.

Near the unicorns, a shining woman appears in a lightning bolt from above, and she begins taking care of the unicorns. 11 other similar appearances bring as many other people who begin pruning the trees. The branches that are cut off from the trees are gathered into a pile, bundled together and thrown into a firepit and one of the shining dragons lights the pile on fire. One of the pruners cuts a young sapling off at the root and holds it in the fire for a few milliseconds before planting it in a new location.

Yaimy, the grinning man and the servant are all happy-crying. Liska looks as confused as Az, and says, "Did anybody else hear what was said to me?"

The servant said, "I think we all saw the All-Child. Diakan, what did you see?"

The grinning man replied, "All-Parent is who I saw, and Shi appeared to me as a young father. He told me that my journey would soon be over, and that my final test was approaching me. I still feel Him very much with me. I was told that I would leave this planet soon for the last time. What about ou, Yaimy?"

Yaimy replied, "I saw the All-Heart who appeared as a giant heart. I felt my own heart melt into Zirs and Ze told me many short one-liners and said I'd remember them at the right times and tell them to the right people. The first one was what I told Azraile. If I may be so bold, what did you see?" Yaimy gestured to the servant.

The servant answered, "I saw a multidimensional fractal, and realized I was looking at a possibility tree. I followed the branches to the leaves and realized that every path is set and established. I looked closely at the path closest to me me, and I was given a few visions of my immediate future." The servant looks oddly at Azraile, then back to normal, "Then I followed the branches to the trunk and the roots, into the past. I saw that every person is their own tree, yet every person they touch connects to their tree and so all people together are really one large interconnected tree. What affects one of us affects us all. Then I saw that some of the trees were filled with life, and others were filled with void. A tree filled with life was cut down, but it lived on and all of the shadows and sick ichor burned out of it like tar but in a flash. It was more alive afterward than it had ever been. I saw another tree filled with void cut down. The void within it began eating it, but black ichor of sickness welled up and flowed into the void within it so that it was never completely destroyed by the void that was destroying it. It never grew, but I thought I noticed it shrink, though that may have just been a trick of the light. I'm not entirely sure what to make of that vision, but I know it is significant. Azraile, what did you see?"

So i'm holding on to the seed till I get a clearer answer there. Also said I gathered souls like my name sake... not sure what that is about and I don't gather souls.... that bull shit job was thrust apon me by a goddess to try and make me stronger and I refused it, besides it was for her world wich is about as far flung from here was you can get and I never reaped any souls besides the ones she controlled me to." shi grumped some..... for a moment she contemplates seeing if shi can draw out that power to make sure it's gone and that being dind't restore it.... but having a flaming rune over here forehead translating as 'death has come...' is not a very hospitable thing to do in company if in fact it is.... so just hopes it is still gone and will check later. "So I told it, it wasn't making much sense through the translator and it spoke into my mind saying it would do this for the sake of it's friend, theo... this mage thats been following me around and some one calld 'GM', and it's servent could be asked to make things clearer later... told me what to tell Liska, and said the time of proving is coming and the void wants to eat me but I can chose life.... which is kinda why I came here, but yah. Then he wrote down some luck-." stops herself from saying lucky numbers as the whole 'what is this a fortune cookie' thought did float through hir head. =p "some numbers it said would help open doors later and said when I hear it's story to know what it did, it would have done for me alone. And if I seek it out with all my heart I will find it.....  but honestly it should know i'm not looking for some relationship with some one i don't know." shi said while holding out the paper with numbers so they could see. Again shi starts to say more but takes a deep breath and just sighs this time. Finds its best not to try and mess with peoples faith despite her problems with goodly beings and generally finding they are just like anyone else just with out moral responsibility keeping them in check. Particularly learned this from when hir celestial lovers planet returned and it had aged several Milena and shi was worshiped as the father-goddess or something like that... You would think telling a near type one civilization your not there goddess would be easy... but no.....

And now shi's flushed and blushing again.... thinking about all those women begging to be breed by the father-goddess.  >.<    There is another thing... trying to tell half a planet 'No don't mean your a bad person.'

(would note why shi says the confusing types are better.... usually that means there seeing so much there thought patterns are hard to translates down to our level and there past the point there own concerns matter anymore usually)

Yaimy says, "Fourth post from my last one-liner, you must climb up this sacred mountain, with only one to serve you." After a few yards up the mountain, Azraile noticed a 1' long spider covered in web and hundreds of tiny spiders. Reuel pointed to the creature and said, "That spider is the mother, and the little ones are consuming her remains. The father of these spiders is ordinarily harmless, but he'll be nearby now, and he will attack anything that attacks his offspring. So try not to step on any of them."

A little further up the mountain, Azraile saw a cougar nursing a deer.
