OOC: This entire conversation is happening before Kantoku arrives on the surface, while he is still onboard the ship. It's being ret-conned to that point in his personal history.

Time travelers? If you know Aflae tell her to her past self said she better not make a habit from stealing from her, and if she's going to do that she should pay her back in advance.
The mage who handed Kantoku the cage says, "Oh, you're that Aflae/Aflan/whatever else repeating accidental time traveler. Yeah, they weren't her future or past selves directly, maybe its just your dialect and I misunderstood you, but each person who came before Aflae was created from a major history reset by that solid mana magic. Is that what this Balur is? Cool! I'll get to update the wiki! That room was protected from Balur's influence because of the Magem supression field on the island and around the entire planet which kept the inhabitants of Pskaena from being affected by Balur, and which was the reason so many recluse people chose to live there. After all, why would you associate with the Nexus people if they just used the parasite-of-Oners magic, Balur as their currency and you met the same only slightly different people, time and time again every couple thousand years while Balur just kept on gaining more and more territory across multiple Oners, resetting
their histories as it infiltrated them. So anyway, Aflae is the last of her repetitions. Something happens in her timeline so that she never recurs again. Each previous version of Aflae eventually figured it out, and hid the bracelets in the exact place her subsequent self would most likely think to look once she knew to look. Theophili was itching to tell her, but congratulations, Kantoku! You'll make your momma proud, little one!"
quote:
"So elf time knights? That must be a headach.... if you don't mind me asking how many times and by how many years has Balur altered time? My creator would like to know this I'm sure, she's quite peeved about the blue shift acceleration."
"Ask Aflae to ask Azraile about Dr Who. That's basically us. As for the number of resets, I'm afraid that's just beyond our current knowledge in the wiki. There have been at least 3 spanning many thousands of years by your time. But there aren't many more afterward as far as we can tell. Who do you think altered the evolution of that virus that ended up wiping out all of life? We don't look at more history than we have to since it never changes, but we love it so much that we've mapped out the major points and whenever we go on assignment or into the timeline for any reason, we get to report whatever we discover on the wiki. Don't worry about the blue-shift. These events seem to be the deciding factor, and the calculated deathage of Oner 0 won't change after this (we think). Also, at the crunch of Oner 0, everyone was given ample warning and opportunity - right up to the moment after the last moment - to leave Oner 0 for one of the sanctuary Oners. Many of the people who remained are immortals, and come back once Oner 0 reforms and becomes inhabitable yet again. ..." He grimaces and nods, "Then comes the Nightmare age. But after that, it's all good!" smiling, "Theophili will be annoyed at me for that. That much is in the wiki already."
A short crewman wearing an Ildeerian uniform comes out, speaking with an irish accent and grinning ear to ear, "Yeah, show yer momma my image too, if you please."
After she's landed, the tree-golems gladly take over seeing to their needs. One of them had a premonition and had been observing everything it needed to see in order to do everything Kantoku would wish to be done.
