Re: [OOC] The Tavern 2: The Taverning

Unfortunately, it's a bit more complicated than that. All Kyra can do this round is to transfer her Flight hex into an object. Ayeesha then has to take that object (since Hex Trader is a full round action, Kyra can't give or toss it to her, at least not his round), which I presume is at least a move action for Ayeesha. And then Ayeesha still has to activate the Flight hex, which is another standard action for her. So, yeah. The only good news is that once she does that, she also gets increased speed to close with the priestess, as per Fly spell.

Ayeesha, if you have some other way to get in melee range, feel free to ignore Kyra here. This is just an option you have.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern 2: The Taverning

In reply to Kyra (msg # 1064):

Oh this is genius level option and Ayeesha will gratefully take advantage of your insightful tactics; Thanks again!

I thought I would have to use a move action to get it and a standard action to activate, but did want to sell ourselves short if that was not the case.

Also, if Ayeesha needs to end her rage to activate Fly Hex she will use a free action to do that as well.

Kraw:
In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 1060):

Actually I think I can. Kraw has a base speed of 40'. His jump modifier from Acrobatics is normally +19, but if I add +4 for every +5' speed over 30', that becomes a +27 jump modifier. So yes, 45' and a single attack is doable.

Under Acrobatics it explicitly states that you can't jump farther than your movement:
quote:
No jump can allow you to exceed your maximum movement for the round.

@Ayessha:
Because of the nature of PbP and how I disregard initiative...yes you can delay and decide on who goes first.

Keep in mind that it takes an action to "throw" an object and then a DC 10 Dex or Athletics check to catch it as a "saving throw" against the attack. But yeah then Ayeesha could turn around and take her full turn.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern 2: The Taverning

How can the enemy attack both Alpha and myself in the same round?
Does she open herself to an AoO from me? With Fast Draw, I'm always armed.

Although I asked in PM prior to her attack, can I spend a Harrow point to give myself DR 3/- for this encounter? Does it also give the temp CON boost listed in the Harrow Points thread?

Even if I fail to get off the floor, can't I use Acrobatics to roll away, avoiding AoO?

Re: [OOC] The Tavern 2: The Taverning

To clarify she didn't attack Alpha, that was just fluff on how she avoided his attack.

I also made the mistake that with Greater Command you can still do things like cast spells and fight etc. Just have to do it on your back.

Ok, no AOO with the Great Sword; I'll go along with the palm strike.

Still better than rolling a saving throw against Slay Living!

Yeah if you fail when casting defensively it doesn't trigger an AoO, you just lose the spell.

Never got any response for Detect Magic on the priestess. Maybe after I get her out of the collapsing room?

Re: [OOC] The Tavern 2: The Taverning

Kyra was only able to figure out that there is some very, very powerful magic at work here, and that learning anything more would require more time. Which could be tricky if the whole place is coming down on us.

@Kraw: my mistake, I meant to send you a private line but it went to kyra instead. Basically we're still going round by round so 1st round: there is magic. Now the room is collapsing, do you want to stay and keep detecting or run?

Not good. Do the rest of us notice Kraw's predicament? If we are still in combat time we could not have gone far.

Yes it isn't exactly subtle that Kraw is stuck, especially as you see him rolling and dodging falling debris while unable to let go of a body that doesn't seem to even register his movements.

Hmm, can't really think of aynthing Kyra could do to help. It does not sound like the body is physically holding him down, so there's not an arm we could cut off to free him or something. Any ideas?

I took this to mean that some kind of magic is holding him, and not the animated body grabbing him. Am I wrong here?

Re: [OOC] The Tavern 2: The Taverning

From what I can gather, we left the inner chamber, and then a large stone sealed it and whatever was being summon inside, right? So, I guess we are definitely running away and not fighting whatever that thing is.

Could Ayeesha (who is still flying) simply carry us over the liquid? We just grab onto her (or she puts some of us under her arms) and flies over - would that work?
