Figus shakes his head as he continues to guard the party's back "I find that that the most obvious solution is the most likely one. There is a plague in the city and we already ran into undead taking advantage of the situation. I would not be surprised that this is another nest, a party turned into a massacre for the unknowing. Did we check the throats of the last ones to see if they were drained? Gods, I hate vampires."

Ayeesha cut down one undead with ease and as the other lurched towards her she cut that one in half as well. Kyra detects the faint lingering of necromancy about the two corpses, swiftly fading as the lifeless bodies fall to the ground.

Ayeesha's arms return to normal as she takes a moment to inspect the inanimate corpses that lay at her feet.

"There's one room left up here." Kyra looks at the now very dead bodies. "Once we clear the place we can start thinking on how to identify these poor souls. We could have already hacked our missing bard to pieces without realizing it."

I don't suppose his sister has given us any clues? Like what mask did he have?

OOC: Yes she gave a detailed description and no you haven't seen anyone wearing those clothes.

Exploring the last room reveals a simple washroom. There are no signs of foul play and in fact it looks like it has barely been used since its last cleaning. Everything is neat and orderly and in its proper place.

With the top floor clear it seemed the only things left was to look down the stairs at the level below. The party can see dozens of bodies strewn across the ground. In the center of the room there looks to be six guests dancing a waltz around and around again and again.

Kraw casts Detect Magic as he quickly searches the room where Ayeesha killed two. He was willing to wager that some item on the premises was responsible for this awful transformation,  and the sooner it was found, the better.

Ayeesha moves to the top of the staircase and looks downstairs while waiting for the rest of the party.  When everyone is ready to explore the first floor Ayeesha  will proceed down the staircase.

Kyra thinks that Kraw's theory is plausible enough, so she helps him out with the search before they continue downstairs.

Like others, Figus keeps his eyes peeled for anything which could be a threat.

Finding nothing of interest, Kyra stops her search. "Whatever happened here, the cause may just as well be downstairs. We can return here for one more look after we have cleared the building."

"Lets see if there are some dance partners down stairs!"

Ayeesha will proceed down the stairs if its alright with the party.

The party proceeds down the staircase to the great hall for the manor. Six more zombified nobles are dancing in pairs around the bodies of corpses. As all typical of their style they are slow to react giving the party ample opportunity to strike them down.

Just as they finish the doors to the dining hall fly open as a woman, obviously still alive, opens the double doors. She is dressed in a harlequin outfit and has a maniacal grin on her face.


She giggles and gestures at them.

"Ah, visitors! I wondered when someone would take notice. Don't worry, I have plenty of friends to keep you company!"

She throws the doors open wider and on either side of her are lines of zombies that pour out into the hall even as she dashes out of sight.

No matter what the zombies still need to be taken care of, Figus moved forward

Kraw flips to L-14 to position himself, then stabs at the first zombie moving in front of him. If he could spot the woman, he might have a chance to bring her down with a well-timed throw.

Kyra stays in the back, well away from the undead. It's doubtful the zombies can provide more than a momentary distraction to her companions, so she does not bother pointlessly attacking any. Instead, she keep an eye on the rooms to the east of them, in case the crazy harlequin lady decides to make another appearance. If she does, Kyra plans on hitting her with a spell.

Ready spell (Glitterdust) on the crazy woman if she appears again, but only if that's possible without hitting the party. From her appearance she could be an elf, in which case Kyra's Slumber may be useless against her.

Ayeesha projects her voice to reach as far as possible.

"A toast to new dance partners and our host of the ball."

Standard Action: Ayeesha drinks her potion of enlarge Person and will AOO anything that comes
with in range. She will occupy squares J & Is 10 & 11 squares with 10'reach all-round.

As she finishes drinking the potion Ayeesha will throw the empty vial into the fireplace so it will shatter.

She will keep her eyes open looking around for targets and to note which doors are open.

Kraw flips over to the side and stabs at a zombie. He slashes the blade at a zombie and opens up a big gash but if it bothered the zombie, it wasn't letting on. From the angle he can't see the woman, it seems she pulled the door shut as she left the room.

Kyra holds waiting for the elven woman to appear once again.

Ayeesha chugs her potion growing to 10' tall. Luckily for her the grand hall was indeed grand and although she'll have to duck through doors the high ceilings overall won't hinder her very much.

Figus and Alpha hold letting the dead come to them.

The zombies come forward and Ayeesha skewers two of them clean through with her longspear as the rest move forward.

Despite his magical protections and extreme agility the onslaught of them slams into Kraw but luckily his magical shield intercept the blow and the zombie fist stops inches from Kraw's beak.
Hits AC 22 for a miss...

Just then the door next to them down the hall (B) opens up and another zombie comes shambling out into the hall. From inside the room the woman's giggles can be heard...

Kraw flips past the zombies to land at M12. In midleap he says "Figus, have Alpha help me flank this bastard." Landing, he stabs at the same zombie (scoring a sneak attack if Alpha provides flanking).

With the zombies indeed not proving much of a challenge for her companions, Kyra keeps holding position, ready to cast her spell in case the crazy woman grows bored of sending zombies at them and decides to attack them directly.

Still readying that spell. Kyra's weapon is not going to do much here, and it would be  kind of a waste to use an AoO spell on two zombies.

Kraw cuts down one zombie, Figus gets the next and Ayeesha gets yet another one.

The jester woman suddenly appears, dashing across the hallway from (B) to (C). Kyra lets loose her spell but she cannot tell if it had any effect on the woman or not as the woman enters the other room.

More zombies start spilling out into the hallway surrounding the party. Ayeesha cuts down one but gets her sword caught in the wall allowing the others to stumble in and threaten the party.


Round 3

Kraw leaps towards the back, flipping past zombies to land at G12, figuring that the jester lady would come out the other door and come within his reach.

Ayeesha  indicates the room behind the "C" and "D" doors as she comments and slashes.

Ayeesha will cut down H10 Zombie and AOO I13 Zombie if able to.

Forgot to put  the +8 to roll so that 5 is a 13 for a hit.

Kyra pulls back from the zombie that got a little too close for comfort and throws one of her magical cards at it. It hits, but it does not seem to have much of an effect on the undead.
