To clarify, Kyra and Figus are guardsmen, not mercenaries.

The riots are mostly over. The main hot point was about a week ago but things are still pretty crazy as the city is slowly calming down to begin picking up the pieces again.

This was my original Background when I applied:

Figus' adaptive mother raised him, but knows nothing about his past. His obvious elvish features made him friends and enemies. Figus worked as a lookout for a cabal, but was unaware of their nefarious activities. He left when it was taken down by a groups of adventurers, but is afraid people may still be looking for him.

His mother obviously had a Drow noble lover, or perhaps just a one night stand. It is not clear if she knew that and abandoned the child for her, or the child's safety, or she was surprised and abandoned the child for her own reasons.

No problem with memorizing another Mage Armor, even if Kyra does not end up using it on Figus' panther (was it a panther?), having a second Mage Armor could come in handy, what with only 2 hour duration. And buying scrolls could end up expensive.

Anyway, Kyra is a (very new) guardsman. She is not one for sharing her story, but I imagined her as something of a vigilante. Like batman, only female. And a witch. And without the bat motif. So basically not like batman at all, now that I think of it.

So how does it work being guardsmen? You get some autonomy to go on 'missions' like the last one I guess? You won't be stuck manning a post or anything, gods forbid!

Kraw can see to the selling of loot and distributing of funds. Note that in addition to each of us (there's only 4 of us?)getting 89 gp and 25 sp, each of us now has either 208 gp of credit with the guards for mundane equipment, or.....we keep the 832 gp of credit as a party pool to draw on for specific equipment for specific tasks. Like buying swarm suits if we are heading into vermin infested areas, etc.

RE: Guards. Right now Kyra and Figus are in a bit of limbo. They just killed/arrested the rest of their squad and the Field Marshal doesn't seem keen on reassigning them to regular post instead.

Instead it appears that Cressida is using them to keep an eye on the adventurers assigned by the Queen to make sure they don't cause too much trouble...

Is it possible to get alchemical items with the Guard credit?

I would like to get some of the following:
Smelling salts
Antitoxin
Acid
some empty vials

perhaps some other things as well.

Sure. They have a pretty limited supply though, about a half dozen of each.

Not much gear to update. Got less than 90 gp each for that last run. Hope the reward for a successful mission is better than that.

No, not yet. Might be best to keep it in case we come up against something with DR. Magic AND Silver negates several types of DR.

I belive Cressida mentioned last night a Reward and a new assignment.  I'm only seeing the assignment.....

I guess a reward for a job well done is another job.
