Again I don't want to seem like I'm rushing you but let me know when you're ready to move forward or if there are any additional preparations you would like to make before hand.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Also, would it be possible to do that shopping before we head out? Or would it take too much time to find such an item at this moment? I'd like to have it with us, but not if it means spending so much time looking for it it risks our mission.

Ready. I'll go ahead and buy a potion of Disguise Other. Could come in handy if we are going for secrecy here. Only wish it lasted longer, not sure it 30 minutes are going to cut it.

Hey I'm back. So just to clarify everyone is approaching stealthy, getting into position, and then Ayeesha lumbers on up?

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

It's a story but not a full modern one so say ~2.5 meters/5ft from roof to ledge. You could attack but grappling would be really hard as you'd have to lie down and risk being pulled over the edge if you lose the grapple and she choose to move you...

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Posting a map but just so you know what is going to happen, we're about to have a chase!

We are not doing combat in the normal way. Instead you're on a race track 15 squares long. Each turn you roll initiative to figure out who moves when and then you decide if you want to try and move 1, 2, or 3 squares. One square represents a move action, moving 2-3 squares is a full round action.

When you land on a square you will be presented with 2 obstacles (things like a tightrope walk or a crumbling rooftop etc.)

When you want to move OFF of that square next round 1 of 3 things happens:

1) If you move 1 square you move away automatically. You take your time and avoid the obstacle at the expense of not dashing ahead.

2) If you want to move 2 squares you must pick one of the obstacles (for example in the above you might decide to deal with the crumbling rooftop) and then make your skill check.

-> If you pass your check, move your 2-3 squares.
-> If you fail by 5 or less then you only move forward 1 square.
-> If you fail one check by 6 or more then you just stay in place for this turn.
-> If you fail 2 checks by 6 or more then you fall, suffering 1d4x10 damage. You're not out of the race yet but there are a whole other set of rules for either following from the streets or climbing back up that I'll go over if asked or it becomes relevant.

3) If you want to move 3 squares then its as above but you have to make BOTH skill checks to move.

The goal is to reach up to Trinia's square and then grapple her OR if you want to take your chances you can always fire ranged attacks (each square = 30ft for distance purposes) and hope to knock her out.

If Trinia reaches square 15 then the race is over for reasons that will be revealed later on. Most likely its because she gets away.

Because of their advantageous positioning, Kraw and Figus start on square 2 while Ayeesha and Kyra start on square 1.

Don't worry too much about the horizontal movement. I'm just doing that to follow along on the map, the only thing that matters is that you're on row A (or B) and to get Trinia before she reaches row P.

What I dont understand is how she saw Figus. He did not come to the edge until I signalled him and jumped down to her ledge. I should be right on her heels.

If I do the DC 15 leap, what other skill do I need to move a 3rd square (since leaping over to Trinia's side is a 2-square move)?

Is my levitate still up? How close can I get and still throw it?

You can move one square automatically. Two squares by beating the DC 15 jump, Three squares by beating the DC 15 and DC 25 jumps.

Kraw:
I should be right on her heels.

You were and could be again if you happened to have quaffed a magical potion for enhanced mobility prior.  On her turn she moved 3 squares by passing the jumps thanks to her +10 magical bonus to acrobatic jumps from a Potion of Jump.

So you jumped next to her prompting initiative. She won and moved 3 squares ahead.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Yes levitate is still up. If you move forward as a move action then it is a 60' throw for purposes of range penalties.
