Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

It looks like we only have two players; I am willing to wait for us to pick up some more. my main priority is a stable game that will get past the first encounter.

What are you playing Serra?

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Alright we've added an urban ranger and a rogue to the mix. So far so good. I'm aiming for 5 as this allows us to still lose someone temporarily without going below four active players.

NEWCOMERS: Remember that you need to select a campaign trait that also ties you into the main storyline

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Hello! If I'm counting right, I'm the last member of the party to introduce my character!
Half-orc living in East Shore in Korvosa. I've got Love Lost for campaign trait - anyone else have it? Not sure if we should try to avoid overlap or try to work it into something that connects the characters, or just go with separate stuff.

Stanton's wife, also a Varisian woman, was killed recently.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Probably not the same woman, as Andrezi's mother was killed when he was still a kid. But I don't imagine the Varisia community in Korvosa is particularly large, so Andrezi might have known Stanton, or at least his wife.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Probably! Stanton's mother is a Varisian, harrower by trade and rarely in Korvosa, so he's half Varisian himself and know a bunch more people.

Cool. By the way, what are you focusing on for this character? Andrezi will mainly focus on debuffing and buffing.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Monkey goblin Rogue. Knife fighter (although i took the Vexing Dodger archetype instead). Drug addict as my campaign trait. I needed painkillers for a long time to deal with pain from 3rd-degree burns, but now I'm trying to get the human off my back....

Stanton will for sure not be a blaster, he'll be more focused on utility stuff - so buffing and debuffing too, I suppose! :)

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Ok so we won't be redoing the introduction but hopefully you can mentally insert yourself into the scene using what was written.

The short story is that you all have a grudge against a specific person (based upon your background traits) and you received a mysterious harrow card that led you to a fortune teller. She gave you a harrow reading (see the last post in the thread) and then pointed you to a fishery where Gaedren has holed up in.

This leads us to the second thread and all of you are basically active at this point so let's get this game going!

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

1. No grudge against an individual.

2. I wasnt at the Harrow reading. How am I with these people?

3. Who is Gaedren?

That's the reason for the campaign traits.

You can find out about him in the player's guide for this adventure path.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

What tie does a recovering drug addict have to Gaedren. Unless I uncovered that he was connected with the raid on my village, i have little reason to want him dead.

Also, is there an upper floor?

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

quote:
Someone you know has become addicted to shiver, a drug distilled from the venom of dream spiders. The drug induces sleep filled with vivid dreams, during which the user’s body often shakes and shivers, giving the substance its street name. Shiver is particularly dangerous for the desperate, for its promises of dreams and oblivion are often viewed as the only alternative apart from suicide for escaping a dreary life. You’ve always thought of shiver as a problem of the lower class, but then someone you know overdosed on the stuff. You’ve done a bit of investigating and have learned that the one who got your friend addicted in the first place was a crimelord named Gaedren. Unfortunately, the guards seem to be more focused on the bigger dealers. They don’t have time to devote many resources to what they’ve called, “a bit player in a beggar’s problem.” It would seem that if his operation is to be stopped, it falls to you.

Addicted Friend: The addict is a friend or lover who might or might not have survived the overdose. Your research into the drug scene and local politics has given you a respectable education in street knowledge. You gain a +2 bonus on Knowledge (local) checks or Gather Information checks (choose one when selecting this trait).

Personal Addiction: You were the addict. You blame Gaedren for your brush with death and hate how his drugs are causing similar problems among other youths. Fortunately, your body recovers quickly from toxins, and you have a +1 bonus on Fortitude saving throws.

Not sure if this information would be available from one of the SRD sites.

The personal addiction has a pretty strong tie to Gaedren.
