super powerful santacles potions

Isn't just a Bless spell that lasts for 12 minutes? I am just not seeing how that is 'super powerful'

I mean you could have been under a bless spell this entire dungeon. Nothing to sneeze at there. Also everyone got something different.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Kyra, simply hire a wizard to copy spells from spellbook to scroll. THEN you can learn them.

In reply to Kraw (msg # 890):

You can't just copy them. It actually has to be made into a scroll, but you can make a deal with a wizard that he could copy the spell for free to give you a discount on the scroll after.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Yeah, that would be one way to salvage at least something, and later we could sell the spellbook for some cash as well. Witches are weird. Normally I'd have to brew a potion from a scroll and feed it to my familiar, except, I don't have a familiar. But because nowhere does it say I can't still use the normal (for a witch) ways of acquiring spells, and not being able to do so would be a huge drawback for a prepared caster, I will just fluff it as copying a scroll onto my deck.

Anyway, I'm ok with the current plan with the door. But there is another passage left we have not explored yet, isn't there? Maybe that one is leading to the boss?

Also, one of you frontline types needs to take that ring before we open the door.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

@Kyra: I'd say the ritual involves casting the spell at the card which is why you need a scroll to copy from. Or maybe you brew the potion and pour it over the deck and the magical essence is absorbed. Up to you. Go wild. Mechanics will be the same though so you'll need the spells on scrolls.

@Figus: noted. I'll make sure to update my notes before next combat.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

sorry I'm slow! You mind if I take Santacles enlarge potion just before the door opens? Or is that stepping back too far?

Also, are the ceilings low enough in here that I can stand when enlarged? If not, I'm not doin it :-)

Hope everyone had a good weekend. No fireworks this year around where I live, but did get some family to come over for the 4th dinner celebration.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

While there is still more to the book, that concludes the last major section of book 1. Congratulations everyone! There were some excellent displays of team work, I am quite impressed how you handled some of the harder encounters. In this dungeon the stealthier approach of quickly ambushing and blitzing worked out wonderfully. The enemies were either too spread out or too distracted to reinforce one another letting you pick them off one by one.

In a game I'm playing in now the party snuck into the heart of the dungeon and then accidentally triggered an alarm so it is just nonstop encounter after encounter with no time to heal or reposition for success and it is brutal.

I'll work on calculating things like gold and XP as well as transitioning to the final scenes but for now you're free to rest and reflect on everything that has happened.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Yeah, if we can get a drop on an encounter, I think we handle it pretty well. The ones that gave us trouble were the ones we did not have the right equipment.

So, does anyone want to go back and hit that guy on the ships?

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Can we assume we searched everything thoroughly down here, and haul off anything that's not nailed down? Or do you need us to go write in character "we search everything thoroughly"?

I'm tempted to go whack the otyugh first just to see if it's guarding anything shiny. Seems like frontal assault on the floating pleasure barge is just asking for trouble...

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Huh. I've assumed we still had to face that necromancer guy, and was holding my spells in reserve for a big fight. Oh, well. Btw, that passage east (on a larger map) is a dead end?

If you guys want to finish off the corpse eater, I'm game. I think we already cleared out anything valuable there, but maybe we can get some xp for it? I'd have to heal Ayeesha properly before we try it, though. How much hp is she missing right now?

The one where that guy made us play a game with knives for his entertainment. Once she gets to level 5 and can fly, Kyra plans to pick up a crate of Alchemist's fire and bomb his ship.

Well let me ask do you want to do it now or wait to finish the rest of the path and taking care of it "between books" so to speak.

Re: [OOC] The Tavern - For all your chatting needs

Problem is, if we are doing this as guards, we would likely need a warrant, which we will not get. This guy is well connected after all. We could do this vigilante style, of course, but that risks bringing the guard and those hellknights watching the docks on us. Just leave him off for later, I say.

Anyway, to loot. Kyra would like to keep those books they found (she carts them off to her home), and use that scroll of identify to, well, identify that unidentified wax-sealed vial.

I assume you guys wish to keep the armor and the ring. And we better keep those unknown vials of powder until we find out what exactly we are dealing with. Other than that, and the currently unidentified vial, we can sell the lot, I think. Unless someone wishes to keep something else?
