Since it is from a distance, roll leadership at 3D.  A success and he can upgrade once.  Any 2 advantages can be converted to 1 boost.

Aveagar, because of Truk's AMAZING pep talk over the radio, you should have been able to upgrade your roll to 1P 1A 2D 1S, rather than just the boost.

I thought with the 2 success's I was only allowed the 1 Boost.
What's better?  Boost or Upgrade?  If the Upgrade is better, I thought it would have come after the boost from you roll.  IE 1 success = 1 boost and 2 success = Upgrade.

GM, let me know what you want.  Don't mean to cheat the system.

Re: OOC - 2
This was not RAW.  I allowed a success, no mater the number, to give an upgrade.  2 advantages could have translated into a boost.

The statistical difference between a single boost and a single upgrade is minimal.  A boost is slightly better than an upgrade for success, but lacks the ever elusive triumph.  So it is a matter of perspective I suppose.

I think the current roll should stand since the two pools are almost the same in terms of success probability.

Re: OOC - 2
Aveagar, hacking the Front systems will be much more difficult than the building systems.  In general, hacking in Star Wars requires a direct connection (on-site).  The building I thought would be accessible, since it would have to have a public site as a directory and such.  Access to the droid through that system was nearly a fluke and required some serious success to accomplish.

The Front, is a different system.  Not directly tied to the building's system, so that will be an extra level of difficulty.  It is also a major organization with security to match.  Breaking into the driod will again be another level of security beyond that.  I just want you to know how tough it will be if you sit and try.  It will be a significant encounter that will take more than an hour to accomplish.

I plan on hacking the same building where we had the meeting, I assume that's where my DNA would be stored, if it's not stored there, I'll find out where they stored it.

As for time, don't think I've got anything else to do.

I understand, but it is a different system.  NOT the same system.  Same building, two systems.

Just be aware of the difficulty. Aveagar would know that this would be a difficult hack.

Fratz, do you want to roll coercion or are you "Asisting" Truk for his next post?

I don't understand why it would be a different system - same company, same building ... sounds bogus.

You're the GM-w/e.

Re: OOC - 2
I'll track down the posts from earlier, but I think I have been clear that it was a building that rented space to various companies.  My company occupies the third floor of my building, but is in no way connected to that buildings network.

The front is one of many companies that rents space within that building.

This is not shadowrun.  This is starwars.  Most things are hardwired.

Remember, this is combat . . . Ish.  So post your actions clearly in the OOC.  Since you are acting after truk, then he can have a boost next round.  Same from aveagar since he appears to be doing the same.

I'll try to do some negotiations this round and go from there.   If I do poorly I'll assist next time.
I was waiting for my turn before posting.

I thought you had posted?  Wasn't pulling up the picture your "assist" in round one?

It was posted after we started initiative . . .

In reply to The Force Surrounds Us (msg # 271):

I posted I did that during the 1 hour wait while waiting for Q to wake up.

I was going to use it during my next post but I felt using the pictures of his family might be more of an intimidation tactic than cohesion which is the skill I decided to use the first round.

Aveagar:
**BEFORE QUINT wakes up***

During the hour wait, Aveagar busies himself checking the news, wanting to see if the swap was detected.  While it may not hit the news immediately, if they didn't look, they would never see or notice.

Aveagar wasn't exactly comfortable with the kidnapping, but what was done, was done.  Best to get it done and try to find out as much information as they could before Mister arrived.

"Truk, if he is drunk, he may be more willing to ... give us information freely.  If questioning doesn't work the first time, perhaps a little alcohol might loosen his tongue .. however if Mister comes to get him, this may be our only opportunity, yes?"

Pulling up the man's house, picture and his family, Aveagar thought the pictures might make the man more ... pliable.

**Hour after arrival**
When the man woke Aveagar watched the man, his laptop in his hands, waiting, watching.

OOC:
I don't want to hack the Company from here, don't want to give away our location if I'm tracked.  I'll wait.
Aveagar rolled 2 successes using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2P 2A 2d.  Computer - Quint Family Pics etc.

Re: OOC - 2
All, once an initiative order has been called for, please post in groups broken up by enemy action.  In this case, Truk should have posted, then Quint, then Fratz/Aveagar.  With your actions passing boosts to others I dont want us to get confused on that beneficial flow by posting out of order.

If you dont think you can post when your turn is likely to come us, then I would prefer you PM me your action and let me post it when appropriate.

As of right now, Round 1 is over and we are waiting on Truk for Round 2.  I have Fratz action for round 2.

If you give an hour gap, I'd like to use the hour.
If you didn't want for us to post, then why give the hour time?  At least post we 'lose' the hour if you don't want us to post.
Acting as it's my fault when you gave the hour ... rather lame.

Re: OOC - 2
Guys, I think I'm done.

Sorry for it to be so sudden.  I have been considering it for a while and realize now that I'm not doing a good job.  I wanted to try an open world concept, but I now feel that either due to my own inexperience or the RPOL format that this was a major mistake.

In my head, I have broken the game.  I have been trying for the last few months to get over the feeling that I had lost the scenario, but have simply been unable to shake it.  Each time I think of ways to reset or find things I think will fix the issues I get caught in my own web of indecision.

I appreciate the time you have all spent with me and I think we did have some fun, especially at first.   We have been playing for over a year and I figure we have managed the equivalent of two RL sessions.  I'm glad to have played with you all and hope you find some new games to play.

Good gaming all.  Ill leave stuff up for a few days, then take it all offline in case you have any desire to save anything you have stored in the threads.

Sorry to drop out.  If any of you like the game and want to take over Id be happy to pass it on.

I understand.   Trying to be lay the hero of the alliance I wasn't sure where I fit in the kidnapping scenario and if we were still the good guys or had crossed the line.

Thanks for the game, good luck bro.

Thanks for the game!  It was fun to explore the pros and cons of RPOL and work through some of the adventures you had thrown at us.  Hoth was a great time (all except for Kurgan dying HA!  ... oh and that pesky Crow incident...)

Anyway, I appreciate you puttin the time in to getting this going.  It might have been the slow churn of RPOL that pushed the open world over the edge a bit.  At any rate, thanks again!  Fratz and Aveagar, a pleasure as always!

If we are confessing, I was trying to add an electronic graphetti on the company wall "Call Altani for a good time 123-456-7890" but failed my first attempt, then Altani left, so not much point in the second attempt.
