Lost internet for a few days.

So far, only two players interested. I'll give it through the weekend before I put a Players Wanted post up.

The first thing to decide is whether you are all part of an existing crew or independents that may not have met before.

OPTION 1: Existing Crew
If you go with this option, then I’d like to request that each of you come up with a name and short description of one of your prior capers. Example: The Corporate Caper—we hit him so fast and clean that Ludvig the Troll never knew what hit him! He’s probably still looking for us.

OPTION 2: Freelancers
None of you necessarily know each other prior to now, but you can gain +5 bonus BPs for each Contact you make with another PC.

I'm fine either way. Happy to forge a n00b crew with a job behind them, or connect with a simple job with each of the others.

Yes, yes, we all know you'll go either way.

I'm leaning towards the first option... but y'all know if you pay me enough dark chocolate I can be persuaded otherwise.

I think since we know each other IRL, starting the game knowing each other makes sense.

Does that leave me out?

You could always adopt me!

Or I could be the anomaly--the exception to the rule.

I can try another role. Not too keen on playing a Troll or combat specialist, though.

We didn't really address that aspect of the world in the advertisement.

Blargh, and somewhat late to the party but happy to play whatever is needed to fill gaps. I'd rather have the characters know each other but the 5 BP bonus for buying each other as contacts is tempting lol.

So what have we got and what are we missing?

As Tipi knows, normally I make big bruiser Trolls and Orks.

This time I built a pistol toting go-ganger, because motorcycles are fun.

But if the group ends up needing a specific archetype, I'd be more than happy to change my character to fit our needs.

You play what you want. Any 'gaps' can be covered by NPCs.

I think I'm pretty sure I'm going to be playing a sprite-centric Elven Technomancer...might work in ties to the Ancients as well to make connections with Riona. Depending on if we go with that connections thing it might be fun.

Trying to decide if I want to go with the Charisma based Fading and potentially throw in some face skills or if I want to stick with the logic version and just focus purely on Technomancy.

At the very least, I'd like to see the Personal Data filled out on your character sheet so that I only have to look in one place to find the information.

I'm working on character creation as we speak, going to be somewhat facetious and stick with his name as Fifth :D At least that's the name he goes by.

I'm reading character creation and saw that total attributes is 225, does that include special attributes like Resonance? There seems to be an indicator that's not the case as it says physical and mental attributes cannot equal more than half, in which case I'm fine :D

Crew name I'd love to know what the other characters races are, because if we're all elves that would be hilarious.

I'm working on doing the character sheet now, hoping to finish it tomorrow as I'm going to be busy tonight.

As long as those match up with Shadow masters rules that's perfect.

Although it won't let me take more than 35 points of negative qualities I'm not stressing out over 5 BP since it won't have a negative quality attached.

Quick question, the free BP for making each other contacts...exactly how does that work. Do I pay for someone as a contact, then get teh free BP or do I just make up a connection with them for the free BP?

If you establish a prior connection with another Runner, you get the bonus +5 BPs. You don't buy the connection first.

Looks like runners companion (pg 60ish) and running wild....but even then I've heard of others in this group that I can't find.

To be perfectly frank I'm more concerned we've lost the GM, but no I don't think we have a bad guy. That said I'm happy to play a second character if need be my Shadowrun addiction is in full force right now.

Well, it's given me time to properly finish my character sheet. Foci, in case anyone did not know, are bloody expensive... So many difficult choices, lmao.

I'm shit at communication.

Joe is a weapons specialist with a focus in detonation and melee. Redheaded elf, female, 'mall cop' roomates with Bryxton.

Rick is a bald elven mage. His breadth of spell emphasis seems to be Manipulation stuff, but he throws some pretty boss stunbolts and stunballs when he isn't plinking away with his pistol or carving dudes up with his katana. He is also an inveterate womanizer and has ties to the yakuza.

EDIT: I 100% need a different profile pic, just haven't been able to settle. Tony Stark is about the right vibe for his mouth, though, lol.

It is with a saddened heart that I inform you all of the passing of Robert Rusk -- better known to many of us as StarMaster.

Rob passed in his sleep on Thursday morning, July 6, 2023, at approximately 10:30am.  He had been hospitalized since early in the year due to complications concerning Cancer & associated surgeries.  He was 73 years old.

Rob was a Comics Fan Boy & fiction writer wannabe his whole life and came to Roleplaying in the Early Days of 1978.  It was my distinct pleasure to have met him, and gamed with him, since that time.

After his Retirement, Rob committed himself to the community he found in RPol, participating in over 20+ games, here.  He was an especial "softie" for GM-adopting abandoned games and working to keep them running, for the enjoyment of the Players.

He will be missed.

That's sad.....RIP StarMaster.
